Yes you are: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=12832&pid=168354#pid168354 but back tot he more important points. 1. Was the trading camp a legit test by a dev or something hacked in? 2. Why is a dev, or staff, server allowed to have side chat and disconnect messages enabled when no one else is? Someone allow us to have disconnect messages...they are vital to server administration. 3. Bans may not be appropriate because of the fray of nonsense going on, but there were a lot of disconnects during the hail of gunfire as a ran away. Maybe reiterate to people they will catcha ban for disconnecting to avoid pvp. 4. Why was the server, owned by staff/dev, restarted in the heat of pvp? And how is this individual going to be held responsible for violating the trust of the community by blatantly abusing his administrative powers? -

it was from yesterday. It was uploaded, and processed about an hour after everything went down. If I had known there was an incoming restart I would have kept it rolling, but I did not cause of space concerns with fraps. There are a ton of people who can state the server was restarted and when though...Also with side chat being disabled, all the server messages are in red. Also look at the format of the server name at the end. All of those things were done well after side chat and disconnect messages were removed. So I think that should be proof enough of that at least... And if an admin tells you you cannot ban for avoiding pvp with a disconnect, they are wrong. It is clearly stated in the forum that you can ban for someone doing that. -

Holy crap the fog on my server is rediculous, and has been for about a week. It wont go away. It is like a 300m visibility range. Most other servers are not near that foggy. I am ok with some fog moving in, or whatever...but this is 24/7 for a week now. How do I dial it back...this is far from dynamic.

It has still been foggy litterally everyday, like you cant see over 300m...it seems to be only my server, tons of servers are fog free......sooo how do I make my server fog free?

We are bringing this server down temporarily tonight because of the issues with the hive. We dont want people thinking out server is shit, so it will be down. We will not be putting it up in a locked state. We will not be lowering the player limit for testing. We are just bringing it down for a few hours until everything levels out. Hopefully we can safely enjoy this game when they go shock the hamsters or something with the Hive. -

Screw everything else, still waiting on a DayZ staffer to tell me exactly what config to edit to enable the disconnect messages. They get mad when called names, but when I step back and try to have a civil discussion about the issue, and tell them why a canned response upset me they just ignore the thread? WHAT FILE, AND WHAT SETTING DO WE CHANGE TO ENABLE DISCONNECT MESSAGES?

Yup another guy did it...I had to stop the server to check the logs and couldn't find the dodger today. I have a death dodger roughly every 20 minutes, so I guess my server will be dropping randomly a whole bunch to ban these guys you guys are sheltering for some reason.

It makes no sense to remove it is the problem. It was a chat pop up that said someone disconnected. That is it, gave no tactical advantage, gives nothing...but the ability for server administrators to administer their servers on the fly without having to go to the logs. If people say they have no problems using the logs they are lying. If you grab the logs in stream mode it goes a million miles an hour. Otherwise you have to download it, and start doing searches and such, hoping you found the right person. We need an option to be able to see, oh this dude logged...oh he was being shot at...ban his ass. Also logs dont help our community submitting shit to me. if some guy disconnects on one of my users he needs a ss or fraps of it...so he is to take a ss or fraps of nothing... We also had some guy yesterday server hop, move in the nw airfield, take 1 sniper shot...miss...leave, join a new server and move again, rinse and repeat. he should have been deal with, but because rocket took a lot of consideration into removing a base element, not a feature, of a game that changes absolutely nothing for the gameplay. Rather, destroys the ability to properly administrate one of the few areas we are allowed to ban... I do have more questions. Is it removed on purpose or do I have a fucked cfg somewhere? Because I see servers all the time that have the disconnect messages on. So please give me a simple answer to this question: How do I enable disconnect messages? What file and setting do I edit? A simple answer to those questions instead of a canned response may have recieved a better response from me...

So I went around all the major towns removing the barbed wire exploited by the server hoppers, I cleared it all out of my server. about 8 hours later I checked, and everything was still removed. The server needed a restart so I restarted it. We then noted that all the barbed wire, sandbags, and tank traps I had removed get added right back in when the server comes up. We tested it all day and it happens without fail. How do I make the server stop reverting the barbed wire and other items to their placed state after they have been removed?

I did not lock my server, its easy enough to do because no one joins now that everything is perma blocked...

I want the ingame messages back because the logs go a million miles an hour, and dont give a realtime representation. Its also really hard to SS a log of some guy logging, instead of ingame shit for the inevitable shit storm for banning someone from my own server. It serves no purpose to disable the disconnect messages. So re-enable them, or tell me how so I can actually administer my server. Every retarded idea you guys have doesnt need to be implemented...

3 more disconnects to avoid death without catching their ban because you have to arbitrarilly destroy our ability to admin our own servers...

I was told by my host it was disabled in the mission file by Day Z staff. We really need the disconnect messages back. Last night my group had 8 different people disconnect on us. That is complete bull, and those guys should have caught a ban, but as it stands I get no disconnect message so I am having difficulty proving who disconnected out of a firefight to ban them. I also have no way of accepting proof of a disconnect dodge from my community because they have nothing to SS. So let us know the parameter to change, or if its done by day z, give us the disconnect messages back. It is important to server administration.

Dallas 24 has moved to a new server location. It is now located at Seattle 124. The server move was done by my host for better prices, and to bring it closer to the hive for better performance. The server was moved, not wiped. So all your dallas 24 vehicles and tents should be where you left them. The server is still inverse time. We upped the player count to 60. So hop on over guys.

Yeah been idling ts for a bit, and it hasnt been much help. About 10 guys are idling there looking for support because they havent got a response to their crashed server issues. IDK some may be due to the migration to seatle? -

yeah their support is pretty poor. They bit off more than they could chew with the amount of new customers they took on. Join their TS: 69.46.34.162:10307 and hope one of them is online (they havent been all day though...) -
losing zombies with no gun is easy, its not too hard to figure out, kite em through buildings, bring em up stairs then go down a ladder. Go up a hill, turn a corner, simple stuff really.

I actually think shopping carts would be great, have them spawn at markets in a decent amount though, make em thin as paper as far as damage is concerned, and make em slow as hell so it may not be worth taking one too far out of a town. They can hold a metric ton of stuff, but have the downsides too...make them able to go up stairs too. 2 seater vehicle too, one "driver" pushing it, and someone could sit inside, lol.

It needs to stay, is very important. It should be easier to remove though because of the abundance.
