  1. Oh mah gahhhh! I love you! I'm able to log in now haha! Thank you very much for the help!
  2. I'm at my wits end here, I've spent the last 2 weeks trying to fix DayZ since 1.7.2 was launched whenever I join a server (No matter what I've done... and believe me I've done a helluva lot of the suggestions on forums / wikis / googling / etc...) I still have the same error message displayed on ANY server I join. "This server is runing an incorrect version of DayZ and you cannot play, please contact DayZ staff if this is your server....." I've posted a ticket and had no reply (aside from the auto response indicating the ticket was created) in about 4 days so I'm back to the forums in the mean time to search for some help. Just to save you some time, the common fixes of reboot, reinstall, re-apply patches, battleye install & directory etc... none of that has solved this issue. Everything I have found on the web is pointing towards corrupt Data in the hive that is possibly causing the problem (as in my character data has become corrupt). I'm not sure how many if any one else is having this issue at the moment 1.7.2.4 has not provided any different results. I've done a fair bit of footwork trying to figure out the cause of this when my friends are able to play with out issue, and have come across this site http://www.free-game...ide-application in which it lists a few possible reasons. 1. Character corruption 2. Server not being whitelisted/firewall 3. False data being returned 4. Hive being down My Ticket info: Playerid: 21830790 Name: Soujyo It would seem that no matter what I've done I get the same message directly after the loading screen (After waiting for character to create): - Re-install & update battleye (both in the beta folder as well as the arma 2 directory) - Re-install & verify Arma 2 & CO from steam with admin rights turned on and launched in a correct order & verified integrity - Re-installed & tried every beta arma 2 patch with admin rights that coincided with 1.7.1.5 and later (earlier arma 2 beta patches weren't really relevant) - Re-install DayZ from torrent & six launcher and confirm everything was correctly installed - Deleted my arma 2 profile in the event data had become corrupt (as some one had posted on the forums) - Disabled all anti virus & firewalls (none are installed at the moment) - Used the beta launcher, six launcher, as well as over writing the arma2oa.exe with the one from the beta folder - Tried connecting to over 80 different servers running many different variants of arma 2 patches but still 1.7.2.3 DayZ System Specs Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: MSI System Model: MS-7522 Processor: Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.5GHz Memory: 6144MB RAM Graphics DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Card name: ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series Manufacturer: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. 3. Let me be frank, I'm not here to incite some sort of Devs versus Hosts kind of argument. I'm not some child who is lashing out in some sort of tantrum, nor is any of that the point of the thread. The main and only point I've been trying to push is for a little more mutual respect and interaction between those who are hosting and/or runing servers themselves and the DayZ staff. The concern is valid and real when you take a step back and realize that while rules are good in moderation they also start to lose their purpose when they start trying to overly tighten and restrict their subject matter. It is not one specific thing that has caused me to make this post, it was merely the fact that in a relatively short time I have watched them grow from a few general purpose for the good of the community type of rules to more restrictive ones that are being enforced with a do as I say or be blacklisted type attitude. I think it's rather fair to say that just because some one is paying to rent a server, they are not of less calibre than some one who happens to have a setup that allows them to directly host themselves. While one may provide greater freedom to do as you like, you're still bound by the same restrictions. The problem arises when you realize a great deal of servers are being rented, and when the DayZ staff has their hosting company firmly under thumb which directly trickles down to each individual server admin. You start to see the disconnection between server owners & Devs. We are not your enemy, I think it's safe to say the folks hosting or "renting" servers are in general interested in the success of the mod & community. I myself am more than happy to make effort to abide by rules that were made via interaction between DayZ & the community. I'm certain many people would respond in a lot more positive and helpful fashion when they're being treated with an equal amount of respect, of which we were expected to place in order to even host a server. Consider this for a moment: Actual communication with the community before rules were implemented Explanations as to why something is being restricted Being open to the possibility of giving some measure of control back Using well thought out & diplomatic means with new rules rather than knee-jerk reactions Realizing that using the same threat over and over alienates rather than creates cohesion amongst the community as a whole I again reiterate it's not just "what" was being taken away but rather how & how often it keeps happening that is creating a recurring problem with no real end in sight. As for those who were saying I should just stop paying and simply play on other servers, I certainly could do that however not saying anything at all would be not even trying to solve an issue before it becomes a larger problem. Better to try and open communication than just hope for the best and possibly watch a fun game fade away. Thanks for the replies all, I wasn't sure if any one else felt similar or not.
  4. First off let me say, while I absolutely have had a blast playing this game... enough so that I myself even rented a server for some friends to further spread the Dayz fun to others. This alone was by far and large one of the strangest and most ridiculously restrictive processes to get ahold of a server I've ever been through. However for some reason I can't fathom other than a belief that the mod & community would fall apart, there are a series of fairly restrictive rules before a server is allowed to be a part of the hive. Rules that are regularly broken for both malicious and innocent reasons I might add. All the while having this looming threat of being "Blacklisted" from the hive for being a heretic. :P While I felt they were a bit overkill, I was still weighing in the enjoyment factor and idealism behind the rules and decided it was worth the effort to support this game and the community behind it. Sadly since then I've received email after email recently informing me of just one more restriction, then another, then another... and finally tonight one more arrived informing server admins they'd now be stripped of access to their server files and configs. Essentially placing us at the mercy of whatever patch was deemed the new "stable" version (I might add I've not been able to play since 1.7.2 released nor any of it's mini updates). Then it finally hit me, that I was spending more and more time trying to make sure my server didn't get blacklisted from some increasing and seemingly ever expanding list of do's and donts, and I began to wonder exactly when or if that list would ever stop growing. I'm after all taking the risk paying for a place for people to play, I'm constantly losing more control over the very server I supposedly operate. When does it stop? ::TL:DR:: It's not just a privilege that we're allowed to play Dayz, the very nature of gaming relies on cohesion between the Dev's, the server hosts providing a place to game, and the community as a whole in order to thrive. This means one cannot trample or trump the other with out ruining the very delicate balance of all three. This is not a mindless rant, this is me requesting server hosts start taking an active role in making sure that we are heard and respected as much as we're supposed to be respecting the DayZ team, as well as asking them DayZ team to show a little respect back and stop waving the blacklist threat in our faces to force compliance. We want to help be a part of your dream and help provide a community.
  5. Still no luck, and I have attempted this just for kicks: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/33935-for-the-people-who-have-tried-everything/ Any one got any ideas or fixes?
  6. Friendly daily bump, still looking for a fix, and have not been able to join well over 100 different servers so I'm pretty confident this is not me or the servers having the "incorrect" version.
  7. Still no luck here, tried a few more things like starting a new profile just to see if that did anything, but no luck so far. I really have no idea what else to do, I don't think this is something on my end that is borked (as I was able to play 1.7.1.5 with out issue). Any of you guys had any luck fixing it?
  8. I'm stuck in the same area as well and keep respawning there, any help would be fantastic. Name: Soujyo ID: 21830790 -edit Didn't want to be rude, but forgot to say thanks in advance I appreciate the hard work since I'm sure it's a pain in the rear to do (especially with the hectic updates).
  9. If you'd kindly look at the top of the post I've tried that, and many other aspects and while I don't like to use 6 launcher it has worked for me in the past when other methods failed to do so. (I'm fully capable of installing and running the game w/out the use of it, however in an attempt to fix a clearly broken patch I covered all bases). Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: MSI System Model: MS-7522 Processor: Intel® Core i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.5GHz Memory: 6144MB RAM Graphics DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Card name: ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series Manufacturer: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. 10. Well I still can't get into any server with out the "Server is runing incorrect version of dayz" message, but I noticed that in the torrent for 1.7.2.3 there are 15 files (dayz_ext.pbo.dayz.bisign being the extra 15th file), but the six launcher update only has 14 files and doesn't have that particular file included. Doesn't seem to matter if I have it or not, I still can't play... but am a bit curious what that's about, and which one I should be using the torrent or the six launcher version.
  11. Well now I've really tried everything I can think of, I got the latest patch off six launcher and uploaded those files directly to my server and still getting the message that the server is runing an incorrect version of the dayz mod and I should "contact the dayz staff". I'm not exactly sure how one goes about contacting their staff aside from the forums here, any one have any ideas?
  12. Alright so I have the steam version of Arma CO (both arma and CO from steam), I've re-installed twice, I've done all the battleye steps (tried with and with out anti virus), used every beta patch known to man for arma (old ones to the newest 1.61 ones), and tried every patch for DayZ since 1.7.2 went live (all the test patches like 1.7.2.1 and 2.2) and since 1.7.2 I have had the loading screen bug where you can't get past it. Now that 1.7.2.3 has released every server that is up to date with that patch I get the message: This server is running an incorrect version of dayz please contact the admin.... From my research this means either, the server really is using the wrong version (in this case I know that to be false because I uploaded the exact dayz files from my folder to my own server), or my character / database info has become corrupt, or the hive is messed up. Seeing as how there are packed full servers with this patch and people chatting away on them playing, I'm thinking the hive is working just fine. So can any one help me out here? I have tried pretty much every possible solution to fix this on my end and can't seem to be able to, is my character data corrupt (I care not if I have to start over) Do I need to list my player id here to possibly get it fixed? Things I've tried: Reinstalling Arma2 & CO (Runing in admin) Using every beta patch from 93701 to 94945 - as well as Dayz 1.7.1 through 1.7.2.3 (With admin turned on while patching) Reinstalling Battleye (double checking it was in the beta folder as well of CO) Using the beta launcher for Arma CO and instead of steam (Using the proper launch parameters), Using 6-launcher Deleting the my documents / arma 2 CO profile for myself Using every variant on my own server to test matching my exact files Joing several dozens of servers from various regions, including some testing servers that were posted for 1.7.2.2 (to which I had some success connecting for 1 night) Turning my anti-virus on and off to ensure it wasn't blocking something. Any help would be appreciated, I've dug into this forum more than I'd like to trying to find a fix and have failed horribly lol, so I figured it was time to post. Thanks in advance guys.
