  1. Interestingly, I would expect to find an ak in every household in Eastern Europe. The AK variants are very prevalent and to think that just people living in Texas have guns in incorrect. Through all the hostilities and due to the rural environment in Eastern Europe I think having AKs be common is "realistic". I hate that term so much, we are playing vidya. "Realism" is not always fun.

    Those who have not been infected are not new players. I jumped on a server which i had been playing for a bit and was geared up away from the cities and yes, it was no issue at all. The reason for this was because there was less zombie interaction. For those of you who can not understand some of the issues which people are "crying" and "whining" about need to drop their gear and respawn.

    I don't understand why people say that they are "changing their tactics". I understand that getting hit through walls is a bug which you have to adjust tactics for because of engine restrictions, but why give the zombies more powers to knock you down through walls. Why change the zombies from having the hit detection of the 1.7.6.1 patch where they needed to be close to you to hit you. Not only do they not hit you when you are close now, they knock you down when you have already ran by them far enough from their arms. This patch makes Dayz harder because it bugs the zombies out. I am down for survival game mechanics, I am down for hardcore gaming mechanics, but why put a patch out that creates lots of issues? What the loot spawn drops have done is make people leave the big cities, which is good. In the same aspect it also dropped the rate of the antibiotics, which means people are going to go around killing each other just to find them not cooperate to trade. There are some serious balance issues with this patch and it is disappointing that it was released the way it is. The quicker zombies are awesome though, got scared the first time I saw one on my ass in the forest.

    1.7.* Infection WIP Update

    Infection rates should be similar to breaking legs. Also, if the rate were to even stay the same if the infection took longer to kill it would facilitate people to be constantly looking for and trading for antibiotics instead of just killing themselves when they get an infection.

    What you guys think about the new update?

    The zombie agro and spawn is derped. Loot and zombies take forever to spawn and when agroed they randomly deagro! I had 6 standing ontop of me, then they suddenly deagroed. I moved away 20 feet and stood there. Then suddenly one by one they saw me over the course of 2 minutes. When on the ground I was being pushed, which really meant I was just sliding around on the ground. Nothing seems right. Oh yeah, zombies still hit through walls. I am all down for zombies infecting at a higher rate and running faster and so far that is working well. I would rather the zombie spawn being tripled than the current state. I wonder why this is never heavily discussed? I am all for "realism" in a zombie video game, I am all for hardcore game mechanics, I am all for survival mechanics, however giving buggy zombies the a greater ability to glitch through walls is no good. I have been told by others to deal with it and change my tactics. It amazes me to hear this from people. Edit: Also, zombie animations no longer match the damage they are dealing. I am running past zombies where after I have pasted them I see my screen blink and the zombie behind me doing the animation. This all happens after i pass them.

  7. A group of us got together to start a server due to the abuse of admin powers and tent duping. Our server is fresh only a few week old with custom vehicles and helis around the map. We have included scripts which enable vehicle part salvage, autorefuel, and a custom Ai military spawn . These Ai patrol the map with rare loot in their gear. Have to find them to get it. Heli crashes and loot tables have also been tweaked. Included on the military units are nonspawnable loot including the m4spr and scar h variants. These ai run in squads and are very difficult. We have begun editing Cherno and a future active military base inspired by Salvation Island. So join us to help us improve our server. We have multiple admins who are friendly and readily take suggestions about the direction of the server.   8. Edit 4/28 Note that Dayz Commander shows the server greyed out. Please uncheck your filter for incorrect arma version to find the server. The server is about a month old now and have a regular playing base of 30 or so people. Overall we have had 500+ unique players. We recently switched to Taviana but switched back after input from the players. Admins are always on in some aspect and can be reached through the Rcon or available teamspeak if any issues arise. The admins are all friendly and respect other players. We only want the server to grow. The ability for trucks and helis to lift and tow other vehicles has been added, also allowing for helis to store smaller vehicles in their cargo. This is the most recent update and will be tweaked in the coming week. Care packages are dropped on the server and have the ability to have either normal supermarket loot, tons of food, medical supplies, and most rarely high value military loot. After playing Origins and seeing the vehicle salvage ability we knew we had to have it. We have enabled the ability for players to remove parts from cars to repair other cars. New cars, trucks, and helis including the MTVR, UH1Y, etc. have also been added to the server. The loot tables have been tweaked on the server to eliminate some items (such as watches) which tend to spam some buildings. All high power loot has been tweaked in a way that will encourage many visits to loot areas. New weapons such as the Scar class rifles, some new LMGs, and the ak107 variants just to name a few have been added to the loot tables. The military ai on the server, which tend to guard areas where high value vehicles or high loot buildings, carry high value loot which has been taken out of the loot spawns. They are not unfairly powered and can be a lot of fun. The areas they patrol are changed on a weekly basis so players must tread carefully when they reach the northern parts of the map. Everyone on the server can attest to the fairness of the admins, their ability to solve issues that arise from DB errors to the rare hacker which slips by them, and the amount of player input that is considered regarding changes to the server.   9. Server is back of Desert rat, sorry I never read your PM. The server had been DDOSed for 25 hours. Pretty crazy. We have been up and have added a few new towns and 2 APCs are now on the map. An additional APC was won in the arena. FFA match between 9 people in the arena lasted about 25 minutes. Good game.

  12. We may be turning the server back to a daytime only server. Again, it seems to be killing the server. Disappointing.
  13. We just added night time to the server, and addition to the nighttime we added working street lights and most of the houses have lights. It really changes night time play. The cities are lightly lit with some areas still dark. Loot tables were also changed to include the rare chance of the BAF NLAW launcher to appear, the silenced ak variant was added to the firehouses at a small spawn chance, and the scar variants were added to the barracks at a small spawn chance.   15. I am always up to suggestions. Soon id like to try out a short night. I am only hesitant because last time we tried it out we effectively killed the server.
  16. Carepackages have been tweaked. They now include a modified helicrash loot. M107 and as50 spawn rates have been dropped. Scar type weapons are now included. There are a few player requests to be filled and new towns and a abandoned military base have beencreated and will be added soon.

We have a few small groups of people who have teamed up for the long run. I really want to see this server to grow. I'd love it if a clan or small group of players were to try out the server. I'd like to add base building to the map and if enough people join and ask for it I will. The admins are always open to input. Read the server description and try us out. Everyone who plays the server can attest to how enjoyable it is.

  20. Not at all. All airfields have been expanded. Nwa extensively. All large cities on coast have been expanded with more plans. A pvp event arena wasadded. The player reaction to all additions is wow that looks awesome. The buildings also make sense. No 56763 barracks on the coast. On the server we have all possible vehicles including mtvr, multiple military offroad variants, apcs, uh1y, mh60, vwgolf. There are easily 100 land vehicles and 12or so helis. A plane is usually on each airstrip. Pbxs can also be found, common.

  23. We have had a ton of people join the server. We averaged 25 to 30 people on last night. Lots of small groups joining. Custom models for clans and groups are also a go. Give us a try!
