Border Patrol will be planning on having one as soon as we can, even if it means we need to be connected to the public hive. Hopefully they will work out a better solution than the public hive in the mod.

Missions are now unique to our server, including our own set missions with custom loot. Our teamspeak is same as the IP minus the port. Give us a try. Recent update: We've made a ton of updates to the server, adding in crafting bikes, even more map additions. There are lots of clans pitted against each other. Best of all we've been running 30 players a night. We are still offering a small supply drop for players who stick around for a few days. More pictures to come of new map additions. We continue to tweak the trader inventories and prices. We also have a forum now, here you can view our scoreboard, general forums, bounty board, and the vendor pricing list for the server. http://dayzborderpatrol.freeforums.net In the past we had a 30+ man server and after an extended downtime we decided to start a new Epoch server. This time around we wanted to do everything in moderation. In the past everyone has had fun on our server and hope we can succeed again. Server is now also dedicated, no server host used. -Cities additions and other additions to the map make sense and go with the theme of a post SHTF dayz. We have not made pitiful attempts at placing high loot buildings all in one area -We have made full usage of the new Map_EU buildings and will be adding new loot spots -The view distance on the server has been increased to 6000. Fog has been tweaked and not only adds to gameplay but looks great, especially at night. -PvP events in a constructed arena also take place, with the winner receiving a vehicle, gear, or weapons -Weapon cache missions have been added to provide a varied PvE experience with a reward -Server bandit ai have been added to provide PvE in additions to an unknown. We have found that players are too used to Dayz and are comfortable taking chances. We want players to think before doing. -A short night cycle of 4 hours in game time (not attached to any time zone) -During the last hour of night and 2 hours of dawn ground fog has been added -Server traders, vehicles spawns, and loot tables have been customized to include as many as possible vehicles, gear, and weapons. Everything has been done in moderation. If someone chooses to take a heavy military approach to the server they can, however if someone wants to take a survival approach they can as well. -Various addons such as drinking from ponds, knocking players out, clothing removal, nametags, -Admins are generally reachable ingame or in our teamspeak 192.99.0.182:9139 We have 3 clans which have begun to play and hopefully we will be able to get in touch with most of our old players. Try us out. We will always accommodate clans with some sort of boost for building a base or skin selection (perm) and nothing OP. If any role playing groups join (medic/bandit/hero) they can claim the server "role" and the admins can accommodate. Most of all, admins actually play the server. They do not teleport around the server spawning vehicles and weapons to kill people. -

We've updated to the most recent epoch patch. Helis have been added to the traders and dynamic spawn system. New weapons have also been added. -

Recent update: We decided that we are going to accept groups playing a certain role on the server. Example being medic squad, bambi avenger, etc. Just ask and if someone is not already playing that role you will get it. The roles come with special skins/weapons/and custom built perm bases. Nothing will be OP but will only let you play the role. -

We made tweak to ai missions and included a wider variety of weapons gear and vehicles which can be sold. We also have gotten 10 or so new regulars. I hope we can get more. C130s also have a chance to crash on the server and spawn loot. -

The server is located in the Midwest US. By the end of the month the server IP WILL be changing. It will be moved to a higher bandwidth connection in Virginia. -

In the past we had a successful server which was taken down due to hosting issues. Now we are back up with a dedicated rig. Admins are always on in some aspect and can be reached through the Rcon or available teamspeak if any issues arise. The admins are all friendly and respect other players. We only want the server to grow. This is the most recent update and will be tweaked in the coming week. Care packages are dropped on the server and have the ability to have either normal supermarket loot, tons of food, medical supplies, and most rarely high value military loot. After playing Origins and seeing the vehicle salvage ability we knew we had to have it. We have enabled the ability for players to remove parts from cars to repair other cars. The vehicles are on the server are also all custom, spawning including dayz default and admin spawned. There are plenty of planes. The loot tables have been tweaked on the server to eliminate some items (such as watches) which tend to spam some buildings. All high power loot has been tweaked in a way that will encourage many visits to loot areas. With the most recent Dayz update MANY weapons were taken away from the private hives, however we have included as much as we can. The server also has AI which spawn dynamically around the map. We are currently tweaking them. They are not unfairly powered and can be a lot of fun. They have gear which will be more than worth taking from them. The areas they patrol are changed on a weekly basis so players must tread carefully when they reach the northern parts of the map. We have also included the ability to drink from ponds, removed the fog and increased the view distance to 6000, and weapon cache missons ala wasteland. Everyone on the server can attest to the fairness of the admins, their ability to solve issues that arise from DB errors to the rare hacker which slips by them, and the amount of player input that is considered regarding changes to the server. Later today our map additions to the coastal cities will be added. Already on the server are various camps and additions which give the impression of a failed mass exodus from Chernarus. -

I am sure I am going to play the same way I do in the mod. I play with a group of 3-5 friends at a time. If someone is not in my group, they are armed with some sort of automatic rifle, and I see them first close to me good chance is I am going to kill them before they get a chance to kill me. If someone sees me first, calls out on direct chat or otherwise lets me know they are there I back away, and I never kill a bambi/new player. Typically if I can corner someone before they know I am there I will tell them to drop their gun, if they do that I'll vacate the area unless I need a blood bag or something. Is that kill on sight? I don't think so, it seems to me a fair way to play a game about survival. Edit: Also, if I see a m107 or as50 I take them out and bury the gun. No reason for that shit. -
love holding people up. In real life people may be easily taken hostage. In a video game most will go down shooting. I can see the mlp role players easily being taken hostage but it seems many people forget that Days is a video game. I can see all kinds of balancing issues with someone handcuffing all the new a spawns. Could be fun.

You people are crazy and have way to much time on your hands if you want to check spark plugs each time you find a car. What I think is a good idea is different engine and handling characteristics. Russian cars are notorious for their awful drum brakes. Under a fast speed and heavy breaking in a turn maybe they should have reduced braking power. Just an example.

I wish it was like Socom 2. There needs to be some sort of indicator or how hard of a throw it is with a general arc rather than just time. -
How many degrees do those lights cool down your rig? I'm looking to put some into mine as well.
