Any room left to try this server out? Do I need to download anything or is it just like the modifications they use on BlissHive etc

I personally prefer the slower headshot only zombies however if you look in things like the walking dead they can come to a jog. I think implementing a far larger zombie population and having varied decomposition so that some will be stumbling and some will be going perhaps as fast as a crouch run. Of course numbers and headshot only is a must for these kind of zombies. You don't need copious amounts for them to be dangerous. Think about 10-15 moderately paced zeds coming towards you and you must take them out by headshot. How many can you take out before they're right upon you. So you'd need to move away from the zeds and in doing so will likely run into more and more. Personally I think the game would be much improved with the slower zeds but unfortunately I see them keeping the rage infected which I'm sorry rocket are not zombies - not simply because they run but it's the headshot that almost defines a zombie. Destroy the brain. ATM what we have in DayZ is a rage virus NOT zombie virus.

They're meant to be releasing it by the end of this year but whether this will actually happen or not remains to be seen. Give it till December, if no definite by then you could by the ARMA games for the mod. The ARMA games themselves are pretty good.

Can't remember my first ever cold blooded kill but on a private server I just joined I had decided to be a bandit on it. Some guy was wanting to trade a ghillie for a map, there was a lot going on in side chat and I heard shots all around. (Was in Cherno) He said he was in his 'house' at balota. Turns out the guy had funnelled the one entrance to be over the fence and had placed barbed wire and tank traps all around it. Pretty cool I thought but trading a ghillie for a map? I thought he'd be trying to kill me. I had Enfield and makarov and I attracted a good few zeds, lowered my weapon and went in the house. Distracted by the zombies, remember my weapon was to be lowered ;) I lifted up my Enfield and shot him in the face whilst he was defending me from zeds, he actually did have a ghillie and had loot just lying on the ground (car parts, AK, M1014) so I helped myself to his AKM and Revolver and made my way north for some bigger game with my new ghillie :D

Only thing that interested me was that someone took SAS as their tag yet it's Stars and Stripes. British military abbreviation and American name? That's just silly.

Yeah, I found a car at night when I was playing, I ran into a good few problems though :L was weird actually getting lost again in Chernarus - why I love the expert server :) Will you be playing on the veteran or expert?

On main hive gettig everything you want is easy as pissing. On private it's gonna take more effort but still possible to be overly geared up, all that is needed is to join after restart and go crash site hunting. There are several heli crashes that are going to have many weapons at them making it very easy to get the best loot. Realistically you wouldn't have several crashed heli's with several amazing weapons at them. It'd be more realistic and balanced to have maybe only a couple of crash sites per server and/or 2 or so weapon spawns per crash. This way people can't just drive to all the heli crash locations and end up with multiple of the rarest weapons with not much effort at all.

Erm...by getting in your vehicle and drivin there. Yeah they're empty because people immediately go searching for them after the server restart. Try reading the post mate :L I checked my second and third tag and nothing came up. Can't help posting same thing sometimes :)

Either a sniper and an assault rifle/LMG or m14 aim. If just one weapon then preferably m14.

Planet dayz as said above. Passworded with TS only started playing on it recently but the expert server is great. Depends where you're from of course.

I will be friendly if I feel I'm not endangered by them. Bandits are KoS for me though. Like being friendly but it's not always an option.

Main Hive populated servers - you'll still come across hackers and tbh playing on any main hive is kinda pointless as due to duping etc everyone is geared to the teeth unreasonably. I've started playing private hives like a lot of people though and it is much better. It's a better balance of KoS and survivors. I've met more survivors than I have bandits on private hives. I'd recommend finding a good private server. I have different characters on a few of them so I can switch between them. I'd recommend Pl@net DayZ. I just started playing on the expert server there and it's great. Depending on where you're from though you'll want to find one with good connection.

Was on today like the server :) even when it's not populated still dangerous. Definitely gonna be playing here a lot more.

Hoping to try out the Expert Chernarus server :) love having 3DP and CH disabled. Don't know why these servers aren't more popular though.

Was playing on private server spawned at solnichniy and headed north to berezino with an Enfield and makarov. Now I wasn't playing with the intention of being a bandit infact quite the opposite. When I arrived at berezino I looted the supermarket then moved onto the hospital where I found a broken motorcycle. Second later I heard a vehicle and saw a survivor running. I was trying to get into a position where I had the drop on him incase he was a bandit. We both said friendly and conversed asking if it was his vehicle, it was and it was, another motorcycle. He had a CZ apart from that only starter gear. I thought I'd have my chance to team up but then he said 'I go my own way'. Well fuck you I thought if you're not with me your against me and popped him in the head with the Enfield then dispatched the zeds with my makarov. I took his CZ and looked through the supermarket for a backpack but to no avail. I found an ak in a deer stand and decided to take that over the CZ as it had more ammo but whilst going down to the military tents I came under fire, shots were booming past me I sprinted and lay down behind a wall and my attacker came incredibly close but didnt seem to know I was there as he turned back towards my motorcycle. I stood up and fired a few rounds into his back, his body dropped behind the defilade and he had a Czech backpack and an FAL, within seconds of taking it I was shot and dropped by a survivor with a Winchester who said he had killed me due to me killing his friend earlier. I think this was a different person who had killed his friend tho as the person couldn't have known my name, either way karma had given me a serious bite to the ass.

I had spawned and looking to survive headed straight away from the coast to Zelenogorsk in hope of finding some supplies and a bigger backpack. I managed an Alice pack and an Enfield and headed past green mountain towards kozlovka where I would then proceed further north. As I exited the treeline I saw the smoke of angels-heli crash-cautious but excited I made my way towards it there was a couple of FAL's and a bizon but many zeds and I had no secondary. I took the FAL but started getting swarmed and so tried to lose them by running around buildings but more and more just kept piling on I had been hit but wasn't bleeding so I ran up the stairs and made my stand at the doorway determined to finish looting the heli. I dropped zombies with my FAL as they approached till they finally stopped and there was a pile of bodies all around me. I snuck my way back to the heli grabbed what I could and ran through the trees. Just as I was about to exit into the field I heard a car, must've been someone looting the heli! So I made my way back and heard the engine cut off. There was someone crouched with coyote backpack and a white pickup behind him. I wasn't going to miss the chance, to often had bandits caused me grief and I fired 3 or 4 shots he dropped to the ground and I scanned for any other players that may be nearby. His vehicle was in need of repair but be was loaded with weapons. An L85! And many FAL's plus camo gear. So I took my loot and hid his body. The vehicle was useless to me, but full of gear. My solution: destroy it. So I emptied a FAL mag into it and then it erupted into a ball of flame sending smoke through the trees. I continued my journey north. Not far from the airfield I came across another player, he saw me and didnt shoot I jumped into cover behind a low wall and began communicating. He claimed to be friendly and had decent gear. He said he needed food, he was in the middle of the field infront of me. I'd have no bother killing him but I told him to face away and I'd give him food. He put his m14 in his pack and I have him food. I felt I could trust him so asked if he wanted to team up and we made our way to the NWA field together where we would find a good few players and saw a helicopter crash. We flanked round to get a better position as we were to far off but our trip was ruined by a god mode hacker. Nonetheless this was a great experience :D just wish I'd got to keep my rare gear.

I still get the one shot kill with those weapons. I tend to favour the revolver nowadays due to accuracy and range I can sacrifice one bullet for that :) ammo's plentiful so it ain't much of a loss.

I've got used to the rage of dayz and it doesn't happen too often. Normally my way to counter by just trying to recover whatever I lost or run into elektro/Cherno and bandit hunt :D

Playin on private server and found Sudan. Checked wiki and wasn't there so guessing its an added vehicle since its private hive. Just wondering if anyone knows how much weapon, item, backpack slots it has?

Looking for a private hive to play on. Tried a few but can't seem to find any hardcore setting servers: no 3rd person, crosshairs, waypoints etc I live in UK just so you know, list any servers u know like this tho and ill check my connection.
