    Can't be bothered explaining all the reasons why this is good but in a nutshell it stops pointless hoarding and gives more emphasis on surviving. Makes death meaningful (as it was meant to be in Day Z) I'm slowly losing my interest for Day Z due to things like people just re-gearing at tents and loot farming however I may simply need to wait for the SA which will hopefully make the game more about surviving than gear.

    Day Z at the moment is a fraction of what it will be and what it could be, I've thought a lot about how Day Z could be made to be the best it can be and ultimately the conclusion I have came to is one that is extremely unlikely but nonetheless a game I'll happily dream of till it's developed. Think Day Z as it as now and what we know will be in the stand alone. Added animations for a lot of things would be good and effectively the simulation would be brought to a much greater level such as damage (I've made suggestion topic explaining how I hope damage will be done in the SA) a proper hunting simulation/mechanic in game as well as more realistic weapons and munitions handling (ie: loading magazines with bullets). More in depth tools and repairing system for gear and vehicles. Better storage system that works in cubic centimetres (or something like that) to see how much you could actually store. A weight and fatigue system that are realistic and linked to your food and nutrition system (topic on this as well). Also lot's of other things like building small structures, degradation, fixed hoarding capabilities of tents (topic on this also) whereby tents are no longer a means to immediately gear after death. An improved loot system, dynamic weather, crafting system, etc. Thinking about all things like this I've envisioned a game that is effectively a simulation with many simulations within it in order to simulate the 'real' zombie apocalypse world as well as possible. This is for me my ideal Day Z - effectively an unforgiving but highly complex game that I would probably not play for all eternity. What's your ideal Day Z?

    Yeah I'd agree which is why I didn't say vehicle repairing simulation. Just something a bit less basic. If everything was a simulation in itself the game would be way over complicated and would cease to be fun. These are just realistic features I'm talking about having not insane complicated sim's for ever minor thing in game :)

    Nah mate, making no sense again. The game's got a strong element of perma-death that should be there but you basically want to negate it entirely. Groups, I understand you're point about the vanishing tent not working for groups. Well done on pointing that out but as I said there have been plenty of solutions given for that. You just don't like the idea that you and your team mates would actually have to work to survive and work to keep your gear. You'd much rather just be able to constantly re gear over and over again. You're meant to scavenge in an apocalypse. This is meant to be a realistic survival game set in a post apocalyptic world. You're looking for a different game.

    It seems more like you're being short sighted to be honest. You have the opportunity to gear up but it's not nearly as easy. This was just a suggestion and there are now improved versions of it. Such as you not being able to access you're tent with your next character - this way it's there for other people and only you can't use it. Included in this is the fact that you can then go destroy your tent or other people can access it. So it gives a kind of balance so that there wont be masses of geared tents everywhere. This isn't related to bandits at all, this is related to the fact that tents are a game breaking mechanic atm and completely negate what this mod was meant to be and what the stand alone will be. They WILL change this for the stand alone, it's almost inevitable that they'll stop people hoarding so get prepared. I've gave a lot more reasoning than 'i just dont like it'. I'm sorry but you, despite criticising have actually not made a valid argument at all.

    It's a lot easier to keep tents filled unless you're dying ever single time you play. It's already been stated a million times that it's different from any other game and I'm pretty sure is more simulation than game really. What? So having constant gear to rearm at when you die is going to make you want to stay alive? But losing all your gear when you die isn't? I strongly disagree. If I lost it all when I died, I'd maybe have a camp with some necessary supplies, such as you would in a real apocalypse and I'd spend the rest of my time surviving. As in the stand alone this shall be the main focus and be a lot harder.

    Vehicles are different they don't have an owner, so they're left out the equation they're very different to tents. No you're not surviving? Sorry but that post made very little sense, I know where you're coming from and I understand how it would be frustrating for you to lose all your tents but that gear should not be so easy to acquire and it makes every death you have meaningless ultimately what is the point of playing the game? If you lose your tents when you die or some variation of this idea it means that when you spawn back in you need to work to get your gear back or if you're in a group your friend will maybe let you use his tent. It puts the emphasis more on survival since people don't want to lose all your hard earned gear. You can still do exactly as your describing it just won't be nearly as easy and that seems to be what you're complaining about. Perma-Death no longer really exists in Day Z due to tents. Vehicles are a lot rarer and most vehicles store just as much as tents except Ural's and alike.

    Even without duping it's incredibly easy, I play on private hive as lone wolf and I have a full tent of 'rare' weapons.

  10. Started playing on private, passworded expert server recently. Liking it so far more people seem to be joining. Just need to get out the lone wolf situation now so looking for experienced players to team up with. If interested PM me. Weapons and gear currently are all that people same to care about, for the future of Day Z it seems only right that the game should lean far more towards these being the means to an end that end being surviving. Rather than currently people would care more about getting gear than keeping their character alive. I hope this issue is addressed for the stand alone and I'm sure Rocket and the team are trying to work out a way to fix this issue. This does seem however to be a very complex thing to fix. What are others thoughts on this? Do you agree or disagree? Does anyone know if Rocket has talked about this, I'd love to know his thoughts.
  13. Yes, having weapons be rare but food and drink be even rarer would certainly improve the game experience. I've checked out most if not all of them and can't recall seeing anything about this though may have missed it.

  15. New Heli Crash. Instead of heli crashes just being there randomly, I was thinking maybe you'll see an AI heli crash, you'll maybe see this heli fly in and then either players have to shoot it down or it just crashes. This just as an alternative to the heli crash being there. I know they don't want any AI and this maybe could clash with the fact that players can have heli's as well but was just thinking itd be cool to see a heli that then maybe hovers for a few seconds and flys off. So havin to shoot it down means that heli crashes at least require some effort to get.
  16. I've heard a lot about the 'legends' avout Devils Castle, Green Mountain and Mt. Dew but I've been to these places and had mountain dew and never met with any bad luck. Devils castle can be home to clans I know that though I've never met any there and apart from the lack of loot that green mountain has to offer I don't see what's so bad about it. My luck in these places so far hasn't been bad. What's your personal experience(story)/opinion of these things? Are there any others apart from these legends that you've heard of or experienced? I think the fact that the Day Z community has actually created a lore for certain items and places in the game is pretty damn amazing and shows a lot about the game and actually makes it a little more interesting :L for those brave souls that would look to investigate them.
  17. 40 is the best ill ever get and that's only when out in the open. Cities and trees drop it greatly getting around 20 and quite often as low as 14. I'd love to be in your position :L
  18. Been playing for while recently joined a private hive and have gathered a good bit of weapons, don't really have anything to do now so thought I'd try out the medic thing as well as helping people repair their vehicle (they could then maybe give me a lift to next person) Anyone got any tips?

    Yeah I'd probably get a tent somewhere near the coast where I can get some basic gear. Just anything I come across and would try and hunt bandits as well just to keep it interesting. I'm beggining to think having worse gear will be better.
  21. I can get anywhere from 14 -20fps sometimes (only ever out in the open with not many trees etc) I will reach 40 but a lot of the time it is at around 20 and in woods it always drops below 20. I run game booster, have AVG Tune Up and run all the performance software as well as Advanced System Care (free) also whilst playing the game I run GameBooster3 which disables explorer.exe and other things. Even with all this my game still frequently drops to around 14-20fps in certain areas, rain does not help and sometimes it's just being an asshole no matter what. Processor: Intel® Core i3 CPU 540 @ 3.07GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.1GHz Memory: 4096MB RAM Card name: AMD Radeon HD 6450 Hard Disk Total Space: 953.8 GB File System: NTFS Model: ST1000DL002-9TT153 ATA Device I'm was thinking of getting a new graphics card, perhaps a better processor is what I need though? But I can't get anything too expensive. Any help for components to buy (preferably no more than £100) or software to install, things to edit. I've heard about increasing power usage to components to increase performance? I've not looked at overclocking much as I don't want to overheat anything.

  23. Done most of those but I'll go through them again and do any I haven't I have AMD I went in to the catalyst control center and in gaming there was a few things I set all for best performance. There is AMD Overdriver which allows me to overclock some things but I think I put it up too much the first time and it started fucking up my screen.
