You don't dress wounds with toilet paper. The would will dry and fuse with the paper to your cut. I wrapped some gauze around a cut that probably should have been stitched or at least dressed by someone A WHOLE LOT more competent than myself. The next day It was like a fricking cast. Over-clocking can be a scary thing. trust me. I remember when you had to have a degree in plumbing to setup a liquid cooler !!! now they are all self-contained. The point of overclocking is to extend the life of your older generation equipment. I know the thought of your entire computer dying is a fear, but if you are going to upgrade at some point in 1-2 years, a $60 water cooler will be your best friend in that time. Just something to consider is all. I'm going to post my results next week when i get my stuff with full comparison of benchmarks and other fun things. besides... a 3.0 overclock would be achieveable on air cooling depending on the setup.

you don't mention at any point what your FPS is currenty... I have a Q6600 and I have done some retarded research on the chip. If i recall correctly... the 560 is probably bottlenecked by the CPU. I'm saying this because i recall reading several threads about people with Q6600 chipsets and that sounds appropiate. There are a few ways to determine this, It has to do with monitoring GPU and CPU usage. there are only a handful of liquid coolers still around that support a LGA 775 Socket, might be wise to pick up one of these while you can. Also look into your motherboard to see the possibility to overclock. You might have to consider overclocking to 3.0 or maybe 3.2Ghz to resolve the bottleneck if it is the CPU (which again... probably is) (Edit) I run around with 22FPS with a 8800GTX and my graphics are set fairly high with a bit of tweaking. It is definitely playable, sometime next week i'm going to OC the crap out of this to 3.6ghz when i get my cooler and new video card.

Getting 50 frames... Hell even 45 in a city is actually decent. Not sure why you would get an I7 with a stock fan, especially after spending that much on other goodies. I'd get a liquid cooler and OC your CPU. Might help... I know most people would be happy with 45 frames. Don't think you will find many people feeling like you have a problem. Arma 2 and DayZ mod aren't exactly the most optimized game. Arma 3 is in alpha still... but will run much better than DayZ mod.

I'd love to see what you can do, but i'm currently working on a logo that i'd like to incorporate. Can always do mine LAST of the 5 while I sort this out.

quite a few servers you can join that will provide you custom gear for a "donation". Go ahead and play on one of those and see what a terrible experience they are. We have private hives for a reason (good free ones too), and if you feel the need to donate to them, go ahead... Are you trying to suggest there is a forced action so ALL servers are pay to play? We are going to create an artificial business of server X offering this gun and server Y offering this gun? Next thing you know... you end up with servers offering random items to join like... The Men Of Balota Buddies - Speedo Calendar. I wonder who would make the cut...

I don't know if it is a server option on how long corpses remain available, but I know i've been shocked a few times I was able to reobtain my gear. Not being able to loot your own corpse I think is not needed. What is needed is a max duration of a player corpse being 5-10 minutes before it disappears. I had the need on several occassions to kill my own friends or vis versa, in order to help with being bugged by perma knock out or some other disaster, like being stuck in a wall. I just think 10 minutes automatic hide body option would be more than enough (5 minutes is too short if in a firefight with another group). If the idea of a lockout or not being able to loot your body were such amazing idea's, how is it none of endless amount of DayZ sub mods have it? You don't see this in 2017, Chernarus+, Origins etc...

Any hints on a loading screen will only become something we just laugh at. "Press "M" to view your MAP !!!". I despise them, especially when I have no way to turn them off. I think its probably safe to say we don't need to explain how to move or use your primary attack. However, I think we need to consider that not everyone that plays on a PC, is an expert or veteran gamer like most of us. Isn't it obvious how many console gamers are joining us on DayZ? I've seen quite a few threads asking about controls, what servers to join, or even what PC to buy/can it run this? I wouldn't be against a "load once" pop-up at the main menu saying "Before playing we recommending customizing controls" and taking you to the keybind page. I know dean hates tutorials and I also think it will remove a little bit of the mystery and confusion some of us enjoyed. There are some things which wouldn't hurt to have some info for. Heaven forbid we tell someone V is the default key for Vault. What experience would it rob them of? I've never even seen "VAULT" in another game myself, I'd expect it to be Spacebar for jump. YES I KNOW... most of us are capable of hitting ESC, searching online for a wiki, or finding the answer elsewhere (The Readme text file !). We also need to remember not everyone plays with custom-modded keyboard foot-pedals or a custom built free-track IR headset. The last thing DayZ needs are 3 pages of kids complaining on steam how DayZ controls suck (Yea, they shouldn't be playing in the first place... but w/e).

Why don't you say what weapon it was? if it was 20m I wouldn't go to scope I'd just fire from the hip if i ran into another person, but you said you were IN the barracks and how you were sniped... did he get the jump on you and actually snipe you? Perhaps he wanted to make sure you actually were dead. Better safe than sorry, sometimes i've pumped a corpse with extra bullets Just to be sure. I'm still shocked how people can not come to terms with being killed in this game. Why does it matter whether or not player X was in a bandit skin. Do you understand how you even GET a bandit skin? it requires more than just killing ONE person. Story is... incredibly vague as if you are trying to tip toe around the facts... Tents are fun !!!

I'm surprised no one has told you yet... The revolver has better range than a 1911. Roughly by 25m i think... maybe 50m, the wiki is so different now than back in June last year... so who knows. I do remember for a fact the effective range was definitely higher than the 1911. I agree with Gews, much cleaner sights, does it makeup for the greater recoil, slower speed of fire, and 1 less shot? Maybe. (Edit) Actually I think it is the fact you can't even SEE your target's head @ 100m with the 1911 compared to the revolver. If I had the time or fucks to give, I'd have someone join a game of ARMEX with me to show the differences between the weapons at a max range of 100 meters.

I don't think it is needed at all. IIRC all you have to do is boil water as a new game mechanic in SA. Also for "immersion" I'm sure someone could shed some light on which military factions actually issue these to their troops. Pretending there was a zombie outbreak in the US and the national guard was called to duty, what % of them would have these? I don't see it. Switch that with Chernarus... I see it less likely.
