  1. I had a coyote backpack and an AK. I really like AKs. Especially the Kobra.
  2. Was that a question or a statement? If it was a question then the answer is the vast majority of people who play DayZ care because helicopters profoundly impact the game.

    Dead Body Indicators

That makes a stupid amount of sense.
  4. I've seen a bunch of A10's, no hacked Helis, no ABRAMS rolling down the MSR.

    M14 AIM?

True enough, it depends what you're using it for. If you expected a 500 meter knockdown weapon you're going to be disappointed (though it's still possible with patience and practice).

    M14 AIM?

It's a cannon. Its only drawback is that it's loud and it only has an aimpoint, not a proper scope. Still accurate enough to reach out and touch someone, and it's a painstick through and through, my buddy Bailey found one at a crash and now swears by the damned thing.
  7. I'm going to hit the crash sites and find a fly swatter. That's what I think.
  8. I was just wrapping up a rescue mission when me and my crew spotted you. We'd found a boat, saved our Green boy's kit, and had even found some rare ammo in the Fire Station. We were feeling charitable, so when we saw you getting your ass caved in by zombies, we did the neighborly thing and cleaned them off you with precision Kalashnikov fire. They wanted to kill you, I volunteered to check on you instead. You played it cool, until you saw my coyote pack. I told you I was going to give you food and water. I told you that I was going to give you a blood transfusion. I told you that you had six kalashnikovs trained on you. You must've thought I was bullshitting, because you took the shot didn't you? And that was the last thing that went through your head aside from the 7.62x39 round. But that wasn't enough was it? We watched you respawn and respawn again and again and again, just trying to get that Otmel or Elektro spawn. You were too late though, we'd already stripped you bare and buried your body. So you scrounged. You'd found an old Winchester that I'd swapped for a dead survivor's AKM. I bet you figured you were clear to loot that other body on top of the power station, that we'd moved on. Then the shooting started. You danced and you danced, but we were just taking potshots until our marksman could move forward. Did you feel it? Did you feel it in your chest when his rifle tore through your lungs? Did you feel it when our Green Boy climbed up and popped you in the head with a revolver to finish you off? You were a dick H.T, and you died a dick's death. Twice.

    Skins and so on!

If you survive long enough you're going to get six murders, ergo a bandit skin was meaningless except to identify veterans.

global ban for (well i dont know)

Damn, if you had called him mate just two more times you would've won a set of steak knives.

    Skins and so on!

They removed the morality system entirely. They should've made the bandit skin a drop though.

    New Thrown Weapon: Brick

It would be hilarious to brick someone up while they were DC'd.

    The Problem With Blood

My group is up to fifteen now, we never have a problem hunting enough meat. I'd say head north. Cherno and Electro are effectively turning into death match arenas, and the hillsides are swarming with veteran bandits looking for easy kills. I'd say hunt the death bowl north of kamenka or hit up the interior.

    The Problem With Blood

They spawn randomly in fields and forests typically away from towns (though they can spawn on the outskirts of farm towns).

    The Problem With Blood

Nature rewards mutualism. Cooperation is a very effective survival mechanism.

    Looking for 1 person

He and his hoard of Mongolian midgets will ride across Chernarus astride their German Shepard steeds, raping, pillaging, killing our goats and cows. It will be a fearsome and awesome sight to behold indeed. Soon we'll all be enslaved, forced to retrieve things from high shelves until the day we die.

    First impression: This sucks.

ARMA II and DayZ aren't exactly action packed (except for those rare nerve wracking firefights or swarm encounters) but I think that is part of its appeal. The low points get you comfortable, only for the more intense moments to shake you to your very core. If the world was ending I'd brick up my doors and windows too. But as I said, not every building is interactable, and a list can be found on DayZdb.com/map You can vault, which is sufficient to move over most uneven obstactles. Hit V. I take it you spawned in Wilderness, and maybe stumbled into Kamenka only to get clobbered to death and eaten, if that was your only experience I can sympathize with your opinion. But the game is so much more than that, and if you're not willing to give it a chance you're missing out. I've played Video Games since I was a toddler in the late 80's, and near as I can tell DayZ is unique. The only comparison I can draw is to the Old School Delta Force's, that gave you big huge maps and a massive tool bag to dick around with. If only DayZ had armories like DF2 ... C'est la vie.

    First impression: This sucks.

That's a shame, if you're going to pay money for something you might as well give it more of a chance than twenty minutes. Turn off post processing. Not every building is interactable. A map of which are and what spawns in them is available via dayzdb.com/map and it's trivial to keep it open while playing DayZ. It chops players and zombies real good too, right click and remove from toolbelt to equip it to your rifle slot (When you find a rifle right click it again to return it to your toolbelt instead of dropping it). Right click on bandage, apply bandage. The mod is built on ARMA II, ARMA II is a simulator. Simulators typically have complex engines and a steep learning curve, however if you launch ARMA II there is a boot camp mode available that can introduce you to several core concepts that are helpful in DayZ as well (No parachuting yet, but that's okay). It's a survival sim. It's fun to find ways to survive, it's fun to outsmart other Scavengers and Bandits. It's fun never knowing what's around the next corner, and yes, sometimes dieing is a lot of fun too.

I clicked this thread hoping he was trying to recruit midgets. I leave supremely disappointed.

I gave you beans because we call them Jamie Hyneman.
  21. Just started playing the game this weekend, hit the ground running and decided to record my experiences for posterity.

I know it's juvenile but it makes me laugh every time.
