  1. The hero skin isn't persistent as it's just civilian clothing. You spawn in, the game reads your humanity, and changes your model doing what I described in the previous post. The healing is new, and may be a result of damage not tracking correctly in 1.7.2.5.
  2. Whenever your model resets (IE during a skin change) it resets your debug monitor and your ammo counter. Your Kills, Murders, Bandit Kills and Humanity all track properly, your ammo counter does not. Additionally, Humanity tracks your CD key not your current life, it's how people end up with over a million negative humanity (To see your current humanity you need to load in with non-civilian clothing).
  3. If the "You Are Dead" screen popped up at any time you're dead. SA's will often restart a server following a major hack to try and get the hacker to go elsewhere, but if you died and the server was reset everything is gone, so, my condolences.

    GDC Online Awards

LOL No. You obviously haven't got a clue, so let me explain: I can stare at logs until my eyes bleed, I'm still only going to be able to get solid proof on about half the hackers in my server on any given night (not even counting the ones running engine hacks, which are at the moment, totally undetectable). I run custom anti-hack scripts, I stream the logs, I watch them like a goddamned hawk, I run ARMA II RCON on my other monitor, I have script filters uploaded to my server, and every night, there's still at least 5 assholes spawning boxes, vehicles, or Teleporting and PKing. This community is built on SA's who invested both time and money in this game, and subsequently had their hands tied by the devs. So if you want to talk shit about SA's, get your facts straight.

    Yup. Dupe happens :(.

    humanity changed 0.o

    There are deer?

    Bus wasn't saved

No, you load it with stuff then you save it. Otherwise it'll save an empty tent, and upon restart it will be empty. 2.4 saves vehicles fine. State of tents unknown in 2.4 (to me anyways).
  8. He's right. Come back with an ACOG and we'll talk.

    Bus wasn't saved

When you first spawn a tent, from the time you do that, and the time you first save it you can load it with stuff. If you don't touch it again until the server restart, it will upon every restart spawn with that stuff in it. Every time. Forever. And yes, Tweakie is correct.

    Perfect Private Hive

Arktos Toilet paper would claim they came up with a better crap mitigation system years before Rocket toilet paper, but it would just be a cheap rebranding of one of their other products.

    Bus wasn't saved

Tents save their first save state. Other than that no nothing ever saves.

    Perfect Private Hive

I should release Rocket Brand toilet paper. It would start off really strong, but after awhile it just stops working, and all you can do is flush.

    Fair play?

Over the weekend we had 3 Thunderdomes, 2 server nukes, 5 assholes spawning vehicles, 3 spawning gear boxes and seven+ people teleporting and shooting players. But hell, that was just one server over 2 days. I'm sure you'll be luckier.
  14. Man, when I see an unarmed bandit I'll usually run up and whisper kick them, but that's about it.
  15. After getting a hero skin my friendly encounters tend to be heavily armed people with bandit skins, it's ... surreal. Course you can't get too comfortable, lest you be trying to counter-snipe and one of them comes after your ass with an Axe (RIP Stringbean).

    trade antibiotics for?

If you give the antibiotics to a medic I'll get you a gun just on principle. You like M249's? Or maybe you'd prefer an L85 or M4 SD.

    Perfect Private Hive

I prefer sideways, with multiple rolls stacked on top of each other. That way you can reuse your paper towel dispensers.

    Perfect Private Hive

Touched a nerve did I? I'm simply stating that modded private servers are not DayZ, no more than ACE or City Life or any of the numerous preexisting ARMA II zombie mods are. Being that this was posted in the DayZ forum before being moved to OT my criticism is relevant, and criticism is always needed. OP's preferences match OP's needs and are a perfectly valid expression of the way he wishes to experience the game. I SA a Vanilla (Except for the time offset) server, so I tend to stick to that one. I don't like PKing anyhow.

Press the ' key. Or \.

    Downed survivor carry.

The animation path is probably broken.

    Perfect Private Hive

Because that's the experiment, creating a persistent world across multiple servers through a central hive. Redundant or not according to your habits is irrelevant, like pretty much everything you type. :D
  22. sp86

    trade antibiotics for?

You two are deathmatchers I take it? Antibiotics are not useless, heatpacks are not useless. There is nothing in this game that doesn't have situational value.
  23. sp86

    Perfect Private Hive

You expected a well-reasoned response to a useless topic? Private Servers are not DayZ as they lack the essential component: without a persistent character/world across servers you're playing Generic ARMA II Zombie Mod #5832.
