    Average life expectancy

I honestly think that number is way off. I probably only have 1-2 lives that are not respawns with that short of a span.
  2. Whattteva

The War Z - DayZ copy?

Omg, people stop making duplicate threads.
  3. Whattteva

A serious question for the PvP-phobes

5 beans up... I would give that many if I could. I wish more people on the forums are as mature as you are.
  4. Whattteva

what exactly is end game in dayz?

This. A while ago, I had everything I could possibly want. It does get really boring. You pretty much have nothing to do other than kill other players... which get boring too. I'm definitely enjoying the game a lot more now that I've died.
  5. Would gladly do it... if I only had one, lulz.
  6. Coyote patrol packs are the gold standard of packs... It's a highly coveted treasure.
  7. Whattteva

    Will this run DayZ?

Looks like it should run it pretty smoothly. Almost the setting I have, except I have a better graphics card. My setup: Phenom II X4 965 Radeon HD 5870 8 GB RAM
  8. Uber-napoleon complex, lol. Nice term!
  9. Whattteva

This is a simulator not a game.

Plays, looks, feels like a game... It's a simulator game just like The Sims or any kind of vehicular type sims. Regardless, it's just like any other PC games that you play with a keyboard, mouse, and some of your brain.
  10. Damn, show me how to make camps 200 km apart each! If my calculations are correct, the most distance you can set them apart should only be 21.21320...km (the hypotenuse) if you placed them inside the perimeters of the map. I'm going to assume you didn't do that and really meant 200 m apart like others have pointed out.
  11. I think server resets would be nice. It would certainly make coastal encounters interesting... especially now with no-weapon spawning system. It would certainly take all the heat away from the North and more down to the coast. It would make for a very interesting first 2 weeks or so. I vote for it.

Pvp, PvE, DM and so forth...........

You could have both types, but honestly, how they choose to implement it (separate hives or not) is really up in the air. I didn't really think that far. I honestly think that you should be able to keep your stuff when you switch because the whole point of farming gear really is to make you better prepared for PvP, not to fight zombies.

Pvp, PvE, DM and so forth...........

The OP merely wanted your opinion. He didn't say he will judge it nor did he say was it intended to incite arguments. In short, he's not asking you to "convince" him. Is it that hard to simply do as requested? To be fair, you did somewhat answer at the end though, so I guess it's cool.

Pvp, PvE, DM and so forth...........

I think friendly servers would simply be used to farm loot so people can then jump on normal servers to use their newly acquired goodies to stroke their e-peens. As I have already stated, people would most likely just use those servers to farm and then jump to normal servers. Gameplay would mostly stay the same, so I'd probably feel either the same or better since everyone is more on level playing field now. I honestly don't see a problem with separating the two environments. Plenty of other games already do this and suffer no real consequences (if anything, it made them more popular). So there are already plenty of precedents for it. You earn my beans because your post is actually a lot more insightful than the average "I'm sick of PvP" or the average "I'm sick of people complaining about PvP". I'm sick of both types of posts and would rather not see either of them. They both preach to the choir and beat the same dead horse. Either way, no one will really listen to either of them.
  15. LMAO, that is full of epic win. You have my beans.
  16. I usually don't care much for guns as they rarely ever decide the outcome of an encounter (who gets the drop first does). Even a noob with a Makarov can easily kill anyone if they get the drop first. What really makes a lot of difference is those NVG's.
  17. Consider changing your profession to be a crime scene cleaner, trauma unit doctor, or even slaughterhouse butcher. If you can actually do those professions for a month without throwing your guts up and getting PTSD, congratulations, you "may" have the qualities to be a murderer. If not, go back to where you belong and cry to your mommy with your tail in between your legs.
  18. Most conventional fossil fuel power plants would need people to keep fueling them or they will shut off after a few days. Nuke ones have enough fuel to keep running for two years, but their spent fuel pools require conventional power plants to keep it from boiling away, so it'd probably automatically shut down too. Only hydro-electric power plants would keep running for years. I hope you get your power from hydro-electric plant, because it's lights out otherwise. In this situation, your frozen meat prospects don't look so good anymore, huh? Not so lame and easy now, is it? Well, there's hope, if you're well-versed in the arts of survival, you would know that there are other ways of preserving meat (salt), but did you know that?
  19. If Americans would just do as you say (eat bugs and berries), we wouldn't be in this obesity mess, lol.

Instead of whining about the mod...

One more vote of no to the bean farming.
  21. My city is Orlando. I'd probably contact my family and friends first (if the cell tower still works). If not, I'd probably just lock up and stay holed up in my home. We get frequent hurricanes here, so I have plenty of supplies to last me a while while thinking up of a way to reunite with my family. Beyond that, I dunno' I've only ever been to the Magic Kingdom, so I'd probably try to go to Universal and Epcot Center. That way, if I do die, I'd die happy after enjoying those rides, lol.

Best Music To Play DayZ To.

I find the in-game music really fitting to the setting, so I keep that on. I'd imagine most music (especially the ones with vocals) would just completely kill the mood.
  23. Would be totally unrealistic. The Antarctica is a very harsh environment. The average man would probably perish within a few hours there. There's a reason why it's been uninhabited for most of history. I personally like the Russian setting. It's the few times where my 3 semesters of Russian language in college are actually paying off, lol.
  24. I'd add doors, trees, and even your own friends (they can run into you too close and break your leg) to that list also.
  25. I've never really laid down next to tent and broke my leg, but I've set up like 3 tents and immediately after getting the tent up, I broke my leg and lost like 8k blood.
