Oh man, a server wipe would make the game fun again even despite the hackers. Its just too easy to gear up now. Gone are the days I had to run up to NW airfield and loot the barracks trying to get some assault rifles, and giggle like a little girl when I found a heli crash. These days I can go from fresh-spawn to fully geared Range-finders/NVGS/AS50/L85/GPS/CCOSD ETC in literally 20 minutes. Just head to sniper hill on cherno or electro on a decent pop server and your more than likely to find dead snipers you can loot. The duping has gotten so bad that often youll find entire tents full of gear up there because the dupers were too lazy to run back to camps so they simply duped all the gear they needed in tents right outside cherno/electro. A few weeks ago I was doing something similar myself (not the duping). I was electro-cherno sniping a lot (bored meh) and was too lazy to run to the camps in the far west and north, so I simply drove down one of my vehicles close to cherno/electro and filled it with gear I looted off snipers and tents near cherno. Normally parking a vehicle so close to cherno/electro would be a giant waste, but the ease with which you can find gear made it so that I did not care. That is a sad state of affairs to be in. I agree that the underlying tent-saving mechanic needs to be addressed, but I disagree with those who say it is pointless to do a server wipe until said issue is fixed. The servers have reached insane saturation with high end military gear, and a server wipe now would still give us 1-2 months of fun gaming until it reaches saturation again. I wouldn't mind a server wipe every two months until the underlying issue is addressed =)

Hi guys. I really need some help because i'm having some big issues with fps in this game. I was playing on a laptop with a dedicated graphics card but my fps was horrible (10-14 on laggy servers, and 15-25 on non-laggy servers) I decided to pick up a new computer (desktop) and to my amazement my fps is even worse. I'm consistently getting 10-15 fps even on normal settings. Processor Type : Intel Core i5 3450 Processor Speed : 3.1GHz RAM: 16 GB Graphics: ATI HD7350 graphics card (Video Memory : 1GB) Things I tried before posting: - tweaking the cfg files in notepad as per recommendations on various threads - uninstalling all my video drivers and reinstalling the latest updated drivers from the amd website - trying various combinations in the advanced video interface of the game. - setting the game priority to "high" in task manager nothing seems to be working. Can anyone give me any tips? Is my new computer just horrible?

Hi guys, i wanted to replace my graphics card (my current one is horrible) and I wanted some advice. My target is to try and get 50-60 fps in the forests, and at least 25+ in cities/towns Here are some details on my computer: Processor Type : Intel Core i5 3450 (quad core) Processor Speed : 3.1GHz RAM: 16 GB Power supply: 300 watts (no fancy cooling stuff. Just the stock fans) Monitor: running at 1920x1080 I dont have have any SSD's or any of that fancy stuff but I do plan on installing RAMdisk to help alleviate the hard-drive to game communication speed. My budget is 250 MAXIMUM any help would be appreciated

i can get a new power supply (their not too expensive) but that gtx 670 is listed as $400+. Thats a bit too rich for my tastes. What would you reccomend in the 200-280 price range? I really wanna keep my budget under $300 once all the taxes and everything have been included. Dam government always in my pocket! =)

I dont plan on changing my cpu. Just my video card. My cpu should suffice for high fps in day-z (according to various people on forum). They told me my current video card is the problem (a crappy card that sold for $45 two years ago)

haha is that too much? i was low balling because theres tonnes of 600-800 dollar cards being sold at my local electronics shop. I thought you 60 fps guys were running those 800$ cards

I think i figured out what the problem was Apparently the radeon hd 7350 is a rebranded radeon 5450 see this thread http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2651664 And more googling revealed that the 5450 was a "bottom of the barrel" graphics card even when it was being sold two years ago (retailing for $40) No wonder my fps was so horrible. At least I dont have to buy a new computer. I'll upgrade my video card and see if the problem persists. Thanks for the replies

Hmmm, i'm getting conflicting information. I read in one of the other threads that getting an i7 is a waste of money as an i5 could handle day-z for high fps with no problems (provided there were no other issues bottlenecking you). Theres also the weird issue that my laptop runs at 2.7 ghz with far less ram and a worse video card, but it plays day-z better than my new desktop.

So i need a better cpu than a 3.1 ghz quad core I5 3450 ?

Quick question. What happens when a server is reset? Is a server reset different from a server "restarting" ? Do all the vehicles spawn again? If someone has hoarded them, does a server reset cause them to lose their vehicles? Reason i'm asking is because i'll often see the message "server restarting in xxx minutes" I usually hop right back onto that server after it appears in the list in hopes that I can find the heli crashes early and find a vehicle. Do things like heli-crashes spawn instantly once the server is reset, or do they have delayed random timers on when they appear? Any info on this would be appreciated. Thanks

Lol a few days ago when I had nothing I didnt give a f*** SON! Id be running around the airfield with my 8 slot backpack and an ak47 kobra. I didn't bother scouting, didnt bother checking building windows before entering, didnt care at all. If I knew someone was in the barracks I would run in blasting like a lunatic. Any pvp engagement i'd throw myself into it because I didnt have much to loose (now that I know the geography of the map, i realize it only takes about 20 min or so direct run from spawn to nw airfield) But now I've acquired my dream gear : M4 CCO SD assault rifle on main. L85AWS in backpac DMR in backpack NV goggles GPS Now i play like a scared mouse lol. I'm a solo bandit so I dont have any clannies to keep a camp with, or clannies who can watch my back or pick up my gear if I die. As a result I play super superrrrrrrrrrrr cautious lol. I'm going to be so mad when I die. Anyone else gotten this geared chicken syndrome? How do you combat it? lol

I swear I know that guy. We teamed up for almost 2 hours, then he killed me. We met two other guys at the super-market and I think they were his friends he was waiting for so he decided to kill me. I kept getting shot with a makarov and he would say "whos shooting!" and look around frantically. At first I didn't know was shooting me till the final bullet when I saw it was him. That dirty bastard. He likes to crawl everywhere. A zombie will be miles away and hell start crawling

We need more of those trash-cans that have fire's lit in them scattered around the cities and towns. It actually looks really cool at night. Its really atmospheric to see all the shadows, slipping in and out of the light's radius. It would give better visibility within the cities where the zombie density is so high, and would encourage more action at night. We can use flashlights/chemlights in the little towns, roads, woods

Hey guys, I've often come across people saying the game is aimed at realism, and often suggestions are dismissed because they are not "realistic" (never mind that zombies are completely unrealistic to begin with ^^) Anyway, I was wondering what you guys thought about the idea of introducing more horror elements into the game. We all remember our first play through at night and how scary it was when you didn't know anything about the game and every groan and creeeeking noise made you sh*t your pants. Do you think it would be a good idea to introduce things like *special* zombies which spawn randomly and are faster/stronger/lethal if you don't kill them before they reach you? (preferably once the zombie jerky mechanics are addressed) Things like roaming packs of wolves that spawn randomly in the forests around the continent? Maybe introduce things like increased spawn rates at night for certain desirable items (to encourage more night players). To get yourself in the mood of for stylized survival horror watch this trailer =)

But bandits dont care about surviving. We are here to pvp/kill people. Silenced weapons to keep a low profile while your moving through high traffic areas, Night vision, thermal for scanning for snipers . I find they are quite imba to be honest lol

Hell no. Took me 4 days to find the m4ccosd, and i lucked out the NV and gps because I snuck into the barracks and found some guy jerking off in there (afking or checking map who knows). I promply shot him and stole his items. Then 10 min later there was a server reset and a heli spawned right on the airfield and I got first crack at the items (meanwhile i'd been heli hunting all week with no luck) So you guys play the same whether you are geared or naked? Seems hard to believe I'm so paranoid that when my friend gave me his ghillie suit yesterday, i turned it down because I dont want any funny business with finding myself swimming and all my items gone.

^^ I couldnt part with my M4 CCO SD. That weapon is so sexy for sneaking around. Especially with the current unlimited ammo patch I got DMR because i've gotten myself 6 kills so far by counter-sniping the snipers who camp the hills above stary. Park myself on the hill adjacent to them, scan hills with thermal, and always find one or two every hour or so. Shoot them in the face!!!!!!!!!!!! But then im too scared to go loot their body incase they have buddies around lol!

Holy crap u jumped over the barbed wire. So risky lol. Barbed wire can instakill you if you dont jump over it perfectly which can sometimes happen with that annoying jump animation
