  1. Yeah I know the root idea of a DC cooldown isn't original at all... But scaling it based upon your actions might be somewhat more original. Thanks for the +1 :)
  2. That guy deserved to get hacked up. What a moron.

    Laptop players? Your specs

I play this game on ultra with a laptop... but it's not a normal laptop. samsung series 7 gamer i7 2670qm radeon 6970m 8gb ram 256gb SSD Darkey... more ram MAY help, but won't make a huge difference. THe biggest change may be in getting an SSD, but they're pricey. Overall the 555m is your issue though. I recently moved across the world and will be returning in a few years... hence, I didn't want a desktop. I found this laptop for $900 on ebay, Usually retails around $2000 now. Obviously would never have spent that much Yay ebay :)
  4. I began playing today and have had no such difficulty. Within 5 minutes I had a hatchet, but saw 3 more in the same farm. Within 15 minutes I had a shotgun with 4 rounds of slug. within 30 minutes I had a makarov with 2 full clips. I'm feeling prepared for a zombie encounter but am still scared of my first human encounter...
  5. Funny you posted that. I appreciate the tips. I logged into my game about 20 mins ago. I had left it prone in a field about 100 meters from a small villiage. I was beside a big rock. So I spawned with a bandit looking right at me... 2 shots and that was that. lol. Here we go again!
  6. I can't get into a game... i sit on char creation forever.
  7. I'm dreading that situation... but I'd do the exact same thing as you. Anyone with a weapon out who hasn't said "friendly" ASAP is going to get it. I just started playing tonight and had my first serious moral dilemma. I was scavenging in a farm when I heard a few shots fairly close to me. I peeked out of a door and saw a survivor being chased by 3 Zeds. All I had at the time was a hatchet so I decided to wait until he was close enough for me to come to his aid. Unfortunately, by the time he was close he had 3 more zeds running at him. I made the decision not to intervene and risk being killed by the zeds. So I stayed in the house while he was killed by the zeds. I actually felt terrible for not jumping in... But I don't mind having his shotgun! Update: I died. By murder... sort of. I made what I now believe was a noob error. I was in a small inland town and had looted the entire thing. I had the shotgun, a makarov, heat packs, bandages, cokes, beans, 3 morphines... I was feeling pretty good... It started to rain and I had to leave shortly so I figured it was a good time to disconnect. I found a house, crawled into the corner and disconnected. Big.mistake. The next time I connected this house had been made into a fortress. I could hear 3-4 people in the town wiping the zombies out with automatic fire, I could see barbed wire in the hallway and pretty much freaked out! haha. I got on DC and said "I'm on the outskirts of the town... are you friendly?" They immediately indicated that they were. However, I had made my second mistake... They regrouped in the house. It unfolded in about 5 seconds. A guy sprinted into the house and into my room. He just stopped in the doorway and looked at me. I fired first. It was just reaction from FPS games I think, because I'd made the conscious decision that I'd rather be killed than kill on my first character. A right of passage I suppose. So as I'm flailing away with my makarov he puts 3-4 assault rifle bullets into me and down I go. My fault... almost entirely. It really makes you think about how you'd react in real life. I thought I knew, but now I'm not so sure!
