Today was eventful. We start out in Balota, and we all regroup. We decide that our group is getting too big, and we dispose of one member. After that, my friend was scouting around, making sure we were clear at the tents, and he got his brains splattered all over the ground. We all dropped, and our resident sniper took aim, and dropped the guy who killed our friend (Diego, you messed with the wrong group). We move on, and eventually spread out and look about. We make our way to Solnichniy and find a VAN. It was so perfect....We fixed her up, and got in. We moved out, and we were all loaded up. We got cocky and decided we should go out to Stary Sobor in the middle of the day with a van. We played road trip music, and laughed on the way there. We were about a mile out of Stary when the shots rang out. We slammed on the brakes and everyone filed out, and found cover. Our resident sniper took aim, and spotted two guys by the road a ways down. We opened up, and dropped them. We thought that was it, and looted the bodies. M4A1 and plenty of ammo, a GPS, NVG's, and food and water. We went to go get back in the car, when a bullet zoomed right by my head, and impacted the car less than a foot from me, we all dropped to a crouch and scanned. My friend took a hit, and went down. He bandaged up and stayed down. Our sniper spotted two guys, and dropped one. I took a hit, and went down as well. Our resident medic started patching us up, and I went unconscious. When I came to, our sniper had dropped the other, but apparently a group of 3 others emerged and started firing at us. Our medic went down, and we bandaged him up. We decided it was too hot, and I jumped in the van's driver seat. I was in pain, had a broken leg, was in shock, and had 3k blood. Obstacles just jumped at us. Eventually, I got us a distance away, and used a tree as brakes. We all got out and two of us got blood transfusions, and I got enough meat to take me to 10k blood. The lead started flying just as I finished my last meat. We were getting sniped again, and our sniper dropped one more. We got back in the van, and drove. We made it from the town west of Stary, to Zeleno. We hit a pile of debris, and the car was in bad nick. The engine was at orange, and we were missing a wheel. We split up, leaving three with the car and two to find car parts. We got mobbed by zombies at the car, and my friend got in my line of fire, and I accidentally killed my best friend. I looted his corpse, and took his standard mags and killed the zombies. We put his gun in the car and all his stuff, and waited. My friends came back with a wheel, and we had to work with that. We drove off, more carefully, and eventually made our way to Balota again. We met up with a friend, and while we were looting the airfield the strangest thing happened.... ***READ THIS IF YOU WANT THE GOOD PART*** We were looting the hangars, and we hear the sound of a horn, and an engine. A guy in a van flies down the road, and just gets out next to our van, and gets killed by zombies. We were wondering what the hell just happened. We go over, and loot the guy. HOLY HELL WAS HE LOADED! He had an M24 with ammo, which I took, NVG's, GPS, PP-19, M9 SD, and more stuff. His car was in perfect nick, and we split the four of us into the two cars. We made our way to a gas station, and fueled up, but because our lead car wasn't listening to me, he went towards Chenro. This is where things get weird. We start to drive away, but we get teleported back to Cherno. My car gets away, but the other one doesn't. The driver gets instantly broken legs, and unconscious. He drops out of the van, and killed. Not a single shot was heard. My other friend ditched, and ran. He got halfway to the gas station, and then gets teleported. He runs again. Teleported, then killed. My friend and I get in our car, and leave. We decide to head up to Stary to help out a friend who left on the way to Stary. We drove, and when we got to Zeleno, our car got sniped by an AS-50. Rocked like a Hurricane, we lost our wheel, and we got out. We thought we hit something. We look around for a tire, and all of a sudden, 5 people jump out of bushes, and RA-TAT-TAT-TAT-TAT their AK's went, and down we go. I think I took one with me, and then my character of 50 hours of play time, died. Hope you bandit assholes liked the car and loot.

Today, me and three friends were in Balota. We were looting the deer stands, and a survivor runs through. Three friends are looting, and I call out the survivor to them. They tell me to open up, and I fire with my MP5A5 and I hit 5 times, and he nearly dropped. I hit his legs, just as he went over the hill. We lost sight of him, and I never got a murder. Lucky bastard lives another day.

Today, I had my first real moment of being a bandit. Me and 4 other well armed people went into Cherno and had a couple engagements, but always left with more ammo than we came in with. We made our way to Balota where we went to the medical tents. There was a guy there, and we all had weapons trained immediately. We talked among ourselves, and decided we should shoot him, but he was screaming "Friendly! I'm friendly! Please don't shoot! I'm waiting for a friend! Here, come into the tents!". We went into the tents, and he told us that he was waiting for a friend. We played nice for about a minute, and my friend tells me to kill him. I train my MP5A5 on his head and ask him what he was doing around these parts, and why he decided to come here. He had his back to me, and I said "You know we're friendly, right?", then I blasted him with a 5 round burst from my MP5A5.

Yesterday, my two friends and I met up in Balota. Since this was right about when the update happened, our server was completely empty, and we felt comfortable getting into the deerstands around Balota. We scavenged around, and I found an MP5A5, and 4 mags for it. My two friends found an M4 CCO and a Winchester, both with plenty of ammo. I looked out on the horizon, and saw a figure. It was running. It had a VERY large gun. The only other survivor in the game right now, and it had to be the guy with the Dinnerbell and a strong need to kill me dead. He shoots his clip out in rapid fire, but misses. He pulls out an M1911, and I'm making my way down the ladder of a deerstand now, and one shot hits me in the leg, and throws me off the ladder, knocking me out and breaking bones. When I come to, my two friends are shooting like mad, and I can barely hear them. I pick out "He's down, he's down!" and they stop firing. They made their way over to me. I was bleeding bad, and they knew it. They bandaged me, but it took 3 bandages to stop the bleeding. I was at 5k health, with broken bones. They looked around nervously, and then told me they're going to Cherno to raid the hospital and they'd be back. I must have sat alone in that tent for an hour. Eventually, I fell asleep. I was jerked awake by the sound of a pistol being cocked. I look to my left, and I'm staring down the barrel of a high powered revolver, and a man who I imagine had a nice grin on his face. At least I got 2 shots in his legs before he blew my brains all over the tent. _____________________________________________________________ Now we rejoin when I had respawned and met up with my friends. We made our way to Starry Sobor, and met up with my third friend. We were trying to take the forrest route around the plains, when we heard distant gun shots. One very distinct, the others quieter, but still rifles. One was automatic. The firing stopped as soon as it stopped, and we dropped to prone. I watched the road in front, and three people ran right by us, with a horde of zombies behind them. We didn't move for 5 minutes. Then, a guy with an AS50 ran by us. He was in a Ghille suit, and went into the plains. He dissappeared, until the three rapid fire shots, and three deaths, as my COMM told me.He ran down the road. We sat in prone for what must have been 30 minutes. It was starting to get dark. We proned our way over to the tents, and found 3 very valuable items: NVG, Tent, Map (and 2 sets of binocs, but that's overlook-able). We looted the rest of the place and eventually found another M4 CCO for my friend (he dropped it in Cherno for a Lee Enfield, cause he ran out of ammo), an AKS-74 Kobra for me (and lots of ammo), and an M1014 for my friend. It was WELL into night, and we basically walked holding hands. We walked for about an hour, and got to the Electro area. We all camped up, well away from the actual city, and now we sit in wait.

Going far up north, whats the point?

Me and 3 friends went up to Starry last night. I got an AK, my friend got an AKM, other friend got a M1014, and my third friend got a M4 CCO. Then we raided the supermarket and two of us got Alice packs, one got a Czech bag, and my last friend got a Coyote Backpack. We had plenty of ammo and were traveling at night, and we hightailed out of there and made it to Elektro by midnight. -
ROCKET, Too many hackers. let me password protect my server!

>more people>obviously the ratio of hackers to players is going to stay the same, or around there >if more people join, more hackers will join How does that make you correct? -
ROCKET, Too many hackers. let me password protect my server!
a_casual_banana replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That's.... Yeah, no. I'm not going to PAY for a FREE mod on a game that cost me 30 bucks. I'm just not. Locking the servers, can you imagine what the server browser would look like? Every single one locked. And in order to get the passwords, you'd have to go sign up on their website, donate 5 bucks or something, and then wait a week while they process your request, then you finally get the password. Hackers are a problem, but there are better ways to take care of them. -
Anyone elses rifle also producing alot of smoke when shooting?
a_casual_banana replied to paintface's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This game IS hyper-realistic, so gunsmoke out of a gun that fires a large round is pretty much a guarantee. -
You know, I don't really mind this idea. One day a month or something like that, the servers get changed over to a map where it's extreme zeds or a super small map, forcing survivors together and outsmarting one another. Or maybe a Hunger Games type thing.

Don't move DayZ to Arma 3
a_casual_banana replied to Nawn (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Maybe they'll do it like Minecraft, where, when the real game comes out, alpha players get the game for, say, 5 bucks. And Beta players get it for 15 bucks, and the start price would be 25 or 30 dollars on the standalone (full release). -
Died in Elektro. Found a warehouse and decided to loot it, and found a Makarov mag. I then proned my way out, and made it to a gas station, where I found a Makarov. Feeling invincible, I went and shot a zombie, reigning hell itself upon me, and causing me to die.

Today, I was a dick to a player. My friend and I went into the Elektro supermarket, and a guy was in there. I said "friendly" and my friend proceeded to open fire on the poor guy. We killed him and took all his stuff, and then raided the hospital. Dick banana is dick...

Headshots Required To Kill Zeds
a_casual_banana replied to I_Guts_I's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
To be honest, if you get caught by many, it's a challenge. I think with them+bandits, it's enough of a challenge, especially now that you don't spawn with weapons. -
Today's adventure! So my friend, Craft, and I logged on at about 6 PM. We met up in Elektro, and he had an Enfield. He was laying down a field of fire on an advancing horde and eventually died, then I died as well. Shit happens. He spawned near Kamenka, and so did I. We met up, and split the meager supplies we had. No weapons. We walked for a while, and eventually we found a factory. My friend decided to go loot it while I watched from a distance. About 10 seconds later, I see him sprinting out followed by a crazy axe bandit.swinging wildly. He's screaming at me over Skype to run for the hills, and we got split up. Eventually, we made it to a plains area and we met up and proned up. We watched the area we just ran from, and the axe murderer came over the hill, followed by two players, one with an Enfield the other with an M16/M4 variant. We started to crawl towards these buildings in the distance, and they scanned the area, moving around the plains while we moved. Eventually, we came across some hangars and a few zeds. We were hella exposed, and the survivors from earlier found us. They opened up, just blasting around the area. No hits, but they clipped a few zeds. We ran into the hangars, for cover and supplies. I found some food and a couple bandages, so that was good. We left the hangar, all the zeds dead. But, the three survivors were STILL there. They started shooting, and my friend took a round to the chest. We scattered, and hid. He bandaged up, no broken bones or anything. We hid for about 5 minutes, and then we heard the sound of a revving engine in the distance. More zeds spawned in. A blue van breaks through the trees, gaining air whilst doing this. They screech to a halt right next to me, and one guy hops out and mows down the 3 survivors with an assault rifle. He tells me to get in, and I do. My friend gets in as well. They ask us where we're going, and we said Cherno. They didn't even ask for payment. They took us there and dropped us off, and left. Good Guy Greg. We then went into Cherno and raided the Supermarket, finding an Alice pack, food, a Lee Enfield, and a small rifle of some sort. We loaded up, me taking the Enfield, and we moved out. We went into a Firehouse, and it was cleaned out....Except for a pair of night vision goggles. I took those, considering I have a rifle. We moved out, and found a nice hill overlooking the industrial area and the hospital. We could hear gunshots, probably an M24 or an Enfield, and people died every shot. I found the guy, and sighted up, and right before I took the shot, the server died. We found a new one, and this one was night. I took my nightvision and put it on. I sighted up, and there was a survivor who was clearing out the hospital. I shot him in the back, and he bled out on the ground. We moved up onto the hospital, and zeds swarmed us. My friend ran out of ammo, and I had to use my Enfield. Loud ass gun alerts more zeds. Legs get broken, and I die. My friend runs like HELL, and logs out.

Good Guy Greg story from today. My friend and I were playing, and got ambushed at a few hangers by zombies and 3 players. We were unarmed, but they shot anyway (thank god they were bad shots), and then, when all seemed bleak, we hear an engine in the distance. These two guys pull up in a blue van, and one hops out, and guns down the survivors chasing us and the zombies, then tells us to get in. We do so without hesitation. They ask where we are going, and we say Cherno. They drop us off just outside the border, and drive off. TL;DR: Good Guy Greg and Good Guy Greg #2 save my friend and I from sure death, then give us a ride in their luxurious van.
