So I've been just blown to pieces...

Interesting. Yeah, I too thought it was a wasted grenade. Oh well. We'll never know :) Could it be a hacker?

    Day Z Urban Legends

It was a few days ago, in some barn, I have killed a zombie with a hatchet, I saw the whole dying animation. I picked up all the supplies that were there, and as I faced the zombie again on my way out...he faced me too. He was just looking at me. I came a little closer and he kept staring. I have then axed him again and this time he died for good...I think :P An infected that managed to regain some of his humanity?

THIS is how the game should be

    Beautiful. Just beautiful.

    Infected dogs

Now I have been watching an interview, well, a presentation actually, and the lead designer of day z, "rocket", said that the dogs will be added, in fact, that they should have been in at this point. He meant player companion dogs. How he's going to make that work I have no idea, so I'll just leave it to him. I'm not really one who likes the idea of over the top mutant zombies, but I think infected dogs would be alright. As it is right now, they could behave like any other zed, and be added solely for variety and aesthetic reasons. Day Z badly needs more zombie models anyway. Of course, dogs should be present in far lower numbers. 1 - 2 infected dogs per average village. Perhaps due to their size, they would be slightly more evasive targets, but that is all. As the game develops, they could perhaps have a heightened sense of detection and increased speed, possibly even greater damage. I'm sure this has been suggested before, but I just couldn't find the topic. What do you think?

    Infected dogs

But I do mean Infected(Zed) Dogs.

    Confirmation on Respawn Button

Definitely. Was about to suggest this but I forgot. Same thing happened to me with my first character who I managed to keep alive for 8 or so hours. Luckily I respawned with most of the gear. That was pure luck though.

    Infected dogs

Thought so, but I could not find it. Link please?

    Season's (Winter fall summer etc)

There could be servers with no season switching. Anyway, this is something quite ambitious. I fully support it but don't think we'll see it anytime soon.

    Tranquilizer Gun

Love the idea. @Yukimare We've got plenty of rural settlements as it is. I don't see the problem :P

    Fix Vehicles!

I'm sorry, but his attitude is kind of appropriate due to the fact you demanded something from people who have released something that is free. You were as rude as he is. Anyway, if you'd like to find vehicles, head north. I've found a tractor, a clean red car and an abandoned ATV that had 3 steaks and an outstanding sniper rifle on it.

    Infected dogs

I meant infected dogs that patrol the villages like any other zombie, not your dog companion turning into one. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough there. I really do not see why we wouldn't have dog zeds, at least aesthetically. I never said they should be -completely overpowered- in comparison to zeds. They can even stay exactly the same, which is what I propose for the near future. In later versions however, it would make sense to have them behave differently, so why not use it? Dogs would die with the same amount of bullets as any other zed, so I really don't see how they can be overpowered. It was more of a case of adding a different zombie type with different behaviour, but not one that is unrealistic. Them running faster or not? Debatable. More Evasive? I should corrent myself. I meant naturally harder to land a bullet in due to their size(and possibly speed, if we decide they should be faster) The damage is also debatable. And nah, I didn't mean wild dogs this time, but I definitely support the idea of some kind of danger in the woods. @Yukimare Neat ideas, but If a dog has the trait of mindlessly charging at a person the moment he sees him/her like all other zeds do, I do not think he would bark, but growl as he runs. That would alert other zeds of your presence as much as any other zed does when he sees you and runs at you - does not alert others at all. :/(Something I think should be fixed in the future) Pouncing sounds very nice, although a zed should perhaps be able to do the same.

    [Minor] - HUD rework

+1, although a bit off the topic :P

A few suggeestions concerning the item drop rarity

Only infected soldiers drop ammo. That makes sense and should stay. I never said zombies shouldn't drop stuff, it is just that food & drinks are not one of them. Think about it. Almost every fourth or fifth zombie I kill drops sardines or soda cans. How ridiculous is that? It is absolutely game breaking and is something I'd like to see fixed by far the most, out of all the suggestions I had so far. As for your idea of zombies dropping family photos, wallets, clothes usable to make bandages - I really, REALLY like the idea, and I'm definitely hoping to see something like that in future versions, along with more immersion related stuff such as more corpses, writings/warnings on buildings, people hanged next to their houses, people dead in bed, cheap attempts at barricading a building etc. etc. I definitely want to see that, but it's not the even remotely a priority right now. Back to the food problem - The game would not be any less rich with content. The food would still be there, lol, naturally you'd have to enter households or supermarkets to get it - the way it is intended. Killing a zombie should be worthless. Killing them is not the point of the game. You should avoid them as much as possible. Your weapons are your protection from them. Regarding the broken bones - Yup, it was greatly reduced, the way it should be. However a single zombie can randomly charge at you and break your bone, even if you are at full hp. I think that has something to do with collision impact(same thing that happens if you turn around a lot in small spaces) As for the flashlight - agreed. A player should not start with one. @The L!ne I sometimes play on veteran servers - same thing there, The drop rate difference when it comes to food & drinks really isn't notably different.

    Improvised items - Medieval(ish) cuirass

Wouldn't call it my focus, but they are definitely something I love. In any game. They just should be fleshed out the most in post apocalyptic settings. What you said about taking planks from debris - an excellent, excellent idea. Should be a weapon that takes a lot of hits to kill a zombie, even more than a crowbar, but breaks after after 2 - 3 zombie encounters.

    [Minor] - HUD rework

Yeah, that order would work too. And a human heart would work as well. That's a better idea than the veins thingie I suggested. And the more I think of it, the more I like the idea of shivering, stomach growling etc. That could be added as a fun feature, whilst keeping the icons.

Any 1 else want the lee enfielt nerf?

It's a world war II weapon, therefore anachronistic and should be much, MUCH rarer. That's the only problem I have with it. The fact firing it near zombies is pretty much a death sentence is...I just love it. It's firing rate is also painfully low, but it's accuracy and damage are neat. It is a good choice for hunting players while camping on rooftops or simply away from zombies. It is pretty useless for anything else. In short, it's effect is fine as it is.

    Improvised items - Medieval(ish) cuirass

Damn, I was actually wanting to quote Ramtex's post about, specifically this "People stopped making armor because of guns, and what use is protection against infected in your protection slows you down! May as well go prone when a zed sees you. Get it over with faster. They can already outrun you..." My bad As for the cuirass being uncomfortable, nah, I don't think so. It would however make crawling a hell of a problem.

    Improvised items - Medieval(ish) cuirass

Please have the decency to at least read everything that I have addressed and try to be less biased next time. At least 3 post on this thread questioned something that I have already covered. Yours is one of them. A cuirass does not slow you down. It could encuber you and become a burden eventually. But hey, at the moment, both the zeds and the player can run infinitely, so yeah.
  19. YourStepDad

    Improvised items - Medieval(ish) cuirass

I have kind of emphasized how uncommon it should be. I was even specific. But yeah, I have thought of football armor as well.
  20. YourStepDad

    Improvised items - Medieval(ish) cuirass

I know, I have listed that as one of the reasons why it's unpractical. As I said, the full plate thingie was food for thought, the actual idea is a cuirass. But you are definitely right about zombies biting limbs the most.
  21. YourStepDad

    Improvised items - Medieval(ish) cuirass

This was in fact about the cuirass, and hell, even full suits of plate were quite light. ranging from 20 - 60 kilos at most. Doubt the weight of a cuirass would be notable, and it would not make any sound either, provided all you have below are clothes. I don't think it is an unrealistic scenario at all. Let's say Day Z rules apply to real life, I woke up alone, realizing there are zombies outside. First thing I'd do after taking a pipe or something would be to sneak to the museum and put some armor on. Loads of it there, in good condition too.
  22. YourStepDad

    Improvised items - Medieval(ish) cuirass

Good point. Still, similar thing would apply if you had taken only leg armor. More noise, same effect. I guess I had pictured what we have in Day Z at the moment - zombies clawing you :D
  23. YourStepDad

    Improvised items - Medieval(ish) cuirass

I know, I thought zombies ganging up on you implied that, though I should have pointed it out. As I said, that would be impractical. I have realized that mentioning full body armor is actually rather pointless, as the whole idea revolves around a cuirass. Still, it is food for thought I guess.
  24. YourStepDad

Put gun to head. Pull trigger.

Exactly. He never said they should prioritize it.
  25. YourStepDad

A sex system in the game?

Him being a troll aside, and this of course being socially unacceptable and ridiculous...It would actually benefit the overall gameplay. LOL.
