    Some feature ideas requesting feedback

I am really shaky on this whole idea but if its range is to far, say 1km+, there will be some serious issues with logging in. I can see a team setting up a 5km radius of these things around the airfield with a small hole right in the middle where anybody who tried to log in would be shuffled right into the middle. At the rate of people who probably log in near the airfield, I can see this happening easily. This would be manageable with 8 people or so . For the first little while everyone sets up 3 of the 24 or so radio towers necessary that they have looted and stockpiled. Then two people watch the inner area where people will be funneled into, four people run around to the generators filling them up, and two more people take vehicles constantly refilling jerry cans. Everybody who logs into nearly an eighth of the map, a fairly populated area of the map, gets destroyed.
  4. mahatmajonny Honestly... it is probably just a light case of OCD. The servers for this game are already numbered and have potential to be a nice and neat little thing. Being a game that works by method of a cloud server to maintain your profile amongst all servers, the ability to find new servers needs to be quick, easy, and simple. If my friend asks me to come to US 37, I can easily and quickly do this with a simple and good user experience. It takes more time and is more convoluted to have the current chaotic structure, although less time than most other games with community hosted servers. Most games that I have seen without standardized naming conventions don't have a cloud profile for all servers. This allows each server to develop its own individuality and thus break off itself into a clan server or whatever. I don't know about you but I would rather have a friend tell me to head over to US 37 rather than head over to Clan ZHF server, they used special characters in the name so you have to search for -=Z|-|F=- so that you find it. The structure for a neat and clean server list is there it just needs to be applied.

    Website life expectancy.

DeathsWraith, do you recall where you have read this?
  6. @Method Apparently there is (read prior posts) but a large number of the hosts either haven't heard about it or just don't care.
  7. I have a consern about the life expectancy counter. Are all life spans included in the count (meaning including the purposefull deaths people incur to spawn in a better location)? I see the 35 minute average there and I am just baffled that it is that short. If those deaths are included in the count, could they be removed (by disregarding deaths that occur within 30 seconds of spawning) as to more accurately represent the true average life expectancy?
  8. Many of the servers I find do not follow this rule though and it makes for a messy/unordered list which is the issue that I wish to address. Is there a way to batch email all of the server hosts and request this change for the hosts that do not currently follow it? For instance when I searched for your server, DE 10, I found that DE 100- DE 109 all placed their country and server number together, this pulls them into a sepparate order, or list when organized aphabetically. Also many servers arent displaying their timezones.
  9. When I search for a specific server in a specific city, I see a few servers missing here and there; I see some servers only displaying their version number and no settings, etc.I know there is a uniform way to name ther server but there are a bunch of servers that include little differences used such as order, using |, :, Caps/NoCaps, etc. Especially the issue of the space inbetwen the server number and the country. There are a HUGE chunk of servers that ignore this but it creates two lists when all of the servers are organized aphebetically. (eg: US 100 vs US100) -------------------------- A couple of the many different and nonuniform server names are these: eg: US149 (v1.7.2/Beta_94444) dayzmod.com - Hosted by Valhalla Gaming eg: DE13(v1.7.2)beta 94444 (UTC - 7) dayzmod.com - by [sKS]Sonder-Kommando-Strum -------------------------- I know that rocket has expressed the idea of leaving the servers to the hosts but this is something that isn't constraining to hosts and makes it much easier and simpler to use for the client. Also the implementation for this wouldn't cause too much of a problem. Could we please get this implimented as a requirement, or at least have a recommendation emailed to all server hosts? There is a discussion on reddit but has been receiving a decent amount of upvotes. Much of the community wants this: http://www.reddit.co...tandard_server/ Edit1: Added examples of server names that conflict in style/information. Edit2: Removed ideas of changing the conventional way now that I know there is a conventional way to name servers. Edit3: Added Reddit link to show some support for this.
