I don't really want to unintentionally get into an argument with anyone here (i even went back on what i was going to post because i just felt it wasn't worth it) but saying this game's development team isn't friendly is a bit harsh on them. That's just my opinion though.
-
It just goes to show that they don't really care what DayZ is or will be. They just want the opportunity to satisfy their needs like how DayZ Mod did back in the old days.

Any mention of giving the audio from the walkie talkie an actual filter? As well as the condition of the walkie talkie and battery would determine the strength of the filter. I think at the moment there isn't much of a differentiation between a player's regular direct voip and the voip from the radio. Albeit the guy is using voices from Bioshock it still shows what it could be like in-game.

Its 6am, havent slept and after reading this status report i dont think ill be able to now :). I am so freaking hyped rn im all about the immersion. I can already imagine how good the forests are going to sound just by looking at those pictutes.

Because it's against the forum rules. Besides, its bad to give unwanted exposure to cheats and glitches to public. Do that via private messages to the devs.

Change the noise, when you have a gun on your back

Would be interesting if it was a layered sound based on what items you have in your backpack or inventory. So if you had a bottle of water it would slosh around. Or boxes of ammo it would make a rattling sound. You could hear the amount of items someone has in their backpack based on how many layered sounds they're playing when moving around. clop clop clop -
Yea nah that's what I thought. But him saying "skip DayZ development other than beta build" also means they should skip .62 which is silly. And his "DayZ needs this" point just sounds like he hasn't read any of the past status reports.
-
If i understand you correctly, the features you listed will at least be in when or after Beta hits which is the .63 update. Maybe you misread the entire status reports and the previous ones?
-
Aside from the typical zombie vs infected controv, I do wish night time gameplay was more intense or sp00ky. Hopefully the new audio update will spice night time ambience up as well as infected.
-
Oh we all feel you. Everyone here has been cheated atleast once by the bugs in DayZ. Whether it be the infamous stair death or the glorious flying vehicles. But in the end the experiences you get from this is priceless.
-
@Zet_replicator Whether or not it has been announced, I'm sure they will fix this .63
-
So will .62 still feature the new audio updates spoken from the previous status reports? I assume they just forgot to mention it when they gave the bullet list of what will and will not be in .62. Can .62 just be called the MERSION UPDATE cuz it pretty much is :)

Police car as always. Can just imagine the roleplay potential of hearing those sirens blazing in a town with the red and blue flashes attracting a boat load of zombies.

I agree whole heartedly with disallowing renting public hive servers and even going further to saying remove public hives altogether. However that just means that official servers will need to be 100% reliable when it comes to uptime and data security. Wouldn't want to lose all that progress on your character because the server died or that you can't play that character beause the server is offline.

Lol you're a retard.

Q&A with Lead Animator Viktor Kostik
DannyDog replied to Baty Alquawen's topic in News & Announcements
Yes im pretty sure they talked about this being something that they want to do with the new player controller. -
Check pulse. Also in regards to knowing if it was self defense or murder, it would just be if they had shot you/damaged you first then killing afterwards would be self defense. Like the rogue system in The Division. Don't really like that idea in dayz though.
-
There's no functional effect when putting the rice bag into the cooking pot with water over heat. I'm sure the cooking system will eventually be expanded in Beta.
-
I absolutely freaking knew it! A major sound revamp for .62. It makes so much sense considering the environment overhaul. Holy crap my dream is finally coming true. Andrej you better not dog us by not showing anything!!! >:)
-
Great but not so great idea imo. If you concede to these people and give them what they want. You may find that it will be extremely difficult to take it back. In other terms, you shouldn't turn a game into what the people want because they complain, but rather give them the tools (modding) to do so while you strive to achieve what you're own vision of the game is. I mean if they want just a "battlegrounds" gamemode then play Battle Royale? Lol But there are some that actually find it extremely boring after awhile with little to no variety in gameplay.
-
I agree with you entirely except the part that "Chernarus is like a huge desert" because compared to most other open world survival games, Chernarus has like the most trees per square km. That's why I'm actually seriously excited by the upcoming .62 update as it will definitely bring a new refreshing feel to Chernarus. And I'm all about immersion.

Absence of formal sidechat in DayZ SA is a pain.
DannyDog replied to Marek One's topic in Suggestions
You'll probably get the same scenario with walkie talkies just with less of a chance of someone showing up. And even then you'll find more action at military camps than baiting someone with a 1% chance someone is listening on the radio. -
Is this game (full paid version) worth buying now?
DannyDog replied to stefos71's topic in New Player Discussion
Well I believe they stated that their scripting rewrite to the new Enforce Scripting Language that the new engine uses will reduce or prevent the current "carpet bombing" script hack that is seen in a couple of recent videos. Not sure if they've mentioned other hacks that are possible rn but it seems like they intend on ridding them with the new script language. (Hopefully that is the case) -

Would be nice if it was added as an experimental feature only so we could coordinate during bug testing with other random players.
