    @gabriel425 Something like that would take a day to mod. No point in making devs do it when they can just make the tools for players to do it.

  3. I'm pretty sure if you set your FOV all the way down you can't zoom anymore since they added the cap. For example you are holding a mosin with default fov, you can zoom in to scan tree lines, you then decide to change your FOV all the way down but now that its fully zoomed in, you can't zoom in anymore using RMB. So you're not really gaining anything, if anything your limiting yourself to zoom back out to not get tunnel visioned.

    Walking/Running into geometry

    I'm not sure if this has already been posted or mentioned anywhere and i'm also not sure what the dev's stance is for this but can colliding into walls/geometry stop you from doing the running or moving animation? It feels so immersion breaking that you can just continuously play the running animation even if your heading straight into a wall. I would have thought it would be something they'd implement with the new anim/player controller system but seeing it happen in the recent gamescom vids make me feel unsure about whether or not its something that's been discussed (hopefully it has been). What do you guys think? Do you guys like how it is? Dog out
  5. That fov changing thing was patched in a recent update. You have a set FOV value now when you scope or ADS now so you can't do that anymore IIRC.
  6. Hopefully when they do a live stream that we can ask them more questions about this as they do not often partake in many of these forum discussions. I'm sure they read these 100% but yea. Sucks not knowing.

    Sorta? I mean like when you're running into a wall your player just keeps running into it like an idiot. So its more tied to the actual player controller/animation and collision system not adding more animations and such.
  8. I somewhat want this to happen just to give DayZ a different feel when we first start playing .63 This will only make me feel more paranoid and safer at the same time. Maybe have binoculars spawn more frequently and allow players to move while looking through them. Or have a system similar to say Squad where its only a minor zoom when ADS or standing still.

    Yes I believe so. I mean my previous mouse had it's middle scroll button broken which would have been a pain to work with. But don't forget you'll probably be able to change the keybinds. It's just the concept they're aiming for which they initially had when they first started DayZ sa. (having to raise arms/weapon when aiming and such)

    Improve RAW Brightness/Lighting

    Isn't it just darker because of the updated sat texture and grass color changes? I do however agree that Arma 3's (not so recent) lighting update should be applied to DayZ (hopefully soon) but it also sorta suits DayZ for its dark/gritty atmosphere. But i'd prefer if atmosphere wasn't created by graphics but by the content and interactions players encounter. Like you happen upon a bright and sunny day with lots of colours of nature only for it to be directly contrasted by some satanic hold up that forces you to worship the wiggles.

    VOIP and Enviroment while unconscious

    One point i think is pretty important when it comes to not being able to hear anything while unconscious/dead is that there won't be any incentive to aid an uncon/dead player before they decide to respawn. Like seeing someone drop into unconsciousness out of nowhere (probably from not being able to find food or water) and wanting to help them back up only for them to hit that respawn button straight away. Gameplay wise it would be much more interesting if you could hear, but also not be able to click that respawn button instantly. Maybe put a delay on it before you can respawn to allow for potential players to come and help. So then when you do wait for the delay you hit that respawn button and spawn in instantly without that spawning in.... timer because you've already waited.

    My assumption based on the definition of the word and some googling (and some background in IT) is that its basically a system that handles every single state and event of the object. eg. states: empty, scope_attached, loaded_scope_attached, loaded_ads_scope_attached etc. NOTE: I COULD BE ENTIRELY WRONG. @Tatanko I think the old assets are like the old bushes and trees. They might replace them with newer, updated models i think.

    Night lighting changing

    Also i've noticed that I think on accerated time servers, shadows rewind back to like 2 minutes then bounce back forward to normal like there's no smooth transition. Maybe i'll try to get footage of op's issue and the shadows too.

    Oh I know what you mean, but occasionally DayZ mod's night time does get this dark when there is no moon out. Darker than DayZ SA but it has always been like this in the mod. Just spam road flares and you're good :)

    @MaxTheSurvivor Could this be the effect that happens for a split second when the sun goes down and the lighting system switches from day to night? I occasionally notice it flicker from dark to light then back to dark when this happens during sunset.

    Night lighting changing

    It's the engine's simulated eye adaptation effect. Or more so the camera whereby the scene brightens or darkens based on how much "light" the camera/eye is exposed to (brightens in low light, darkens in lots of light). In real life this happens but not so noticeably and not so quickly. I'm all for this effect, but it would be better if it was tweaked to be slower but also if the damn gradient banding in the sky didn't make it so noticeable.

    Way too many birds

    I would assume doing this would be a lot harder than you think. Unless you have exclusive access to the birds you are recording it might be really difficult to get individual bird calls and know exactly what bird it is, especially with unpredictable elements like human interference etc. I think to future proof this process they would need to actually figure out what sample belongs to what bird to eventually assign them to actual birds in the game when they decide to implement them. Otherwise you're left with the standard building samples of bird calls from scratch using references that they can record like you said but then you're left with the whole idea of them being artificial. We can speculate as much but until the audio designer speaks about this then yea :/ But probably they can recognize the bird the sounds are coming from seeing as they live there.

    @odin_lowe Holy crap that last video is so DayZ. Everything about it looks like it could be what DayZ looks and sounds like in the future. Hope they strive for something as close to that video as they can.
