Well I could use some infinite ammo for my M9 SD so I will roll my patch back for the mags and stay for the PVP (mostly kidding but after losing tents and vehicles it would be nice to have a useful bug). Question is where is this PVP battle going to take place and is the server a hacker hotspot? I am not saying give me the coordinates, but just a general vicinity like from Cherno to Zeleno or something like that.

I get your frustration, asking a question in the forums is sometimes an exercise in internet futility. I am not completely without sin since I started out with the common responses, but I was largely joking. Patch 1.7.2.5 has a huge problem with vehicles and tents (in case you did not know tents are hit and miss, some servers they will disappear never to be seen again and on others they will reappear with the original gear that was saved). I even lost a Huey, which sucked but I already knew it would have eventually resulted in a hack kill, admin abuse, or a legitimate sniper kill so no big problem. Just remember the game is still in testing, so hopefully these huge bugs that are very annoying are being analyzed so they can be effectively removed in the stand alone.

I will give you the common responses, it is an alpha, wait for stand alone, QQ, and you mad. On a more serious note I understand your frustration but you could have avoided the whole mess by reading the section on bugs, vehicles are completely broken in the newest patch. They will disappear on restart so why even bother finding a chopper knowing this will happen (it happened to me before I knew of the problem, found a chopper and saved it in a safe location, then server restart and it was gone). That is probably how you found three choppers in the first place, no one else wants to waste time on something that will be gone very quickly. As far as hackers, seriously wait for the standalone to make a final judgement. Besides minor tweaks hackers are going to continue on the mod, but the standalone may be able to eliminate a great deal of the hacking problem. I know this is the broken record response but it is not a polished product, it is an alpha.

Probably a scripter but it sounds like he did not have God mode on because he fell. If that happens again make sure to shoot him after he falls to finish him off, he might have just gone unconscious and then logged off to die on a low population server so he could retrieve gear. The car thing is weird because even if you destroy the vehicle you will see a smoking shell of the car, but vehicles are buggy so it might have just been a glitch.

Are you hoping EA buys the game or something? It is not a huge title and they rely on community hosting of servers, so even if I agreed with the sentiment it would not happen. Some are bad but the vast majority are good, most of the whine threads are by people who were kicked or banned for being cheaters in the first place.

Been playing for two months and have yet to even see a mountain dew. I am starting to think it is an elaborate hoax on the uninitiated.

Most likely November, possibly longer though. The alpha is hopelessly broken but still can be very fun, hacking is a problem but for your first week or so who cares if you die after finding a makarov. If you do not mind spending what it costs right now to play a testing alpha that has some significant bugs but is still fun where you have a good chance of death by hacker, then snatch it up and help test the game. If you are going to be upset that you "paid" to play Dayz and then had to pay again or if you can not handle some hacker getting a cheap kill on you after being alive for weeks, wait until the standalone.

What part of the post says that? I hate script kiddies and my only three deaths this month have been by obvious hackers. Duping, alt F4, and hacking are what makes this mod broken, but frankly I can still find it fun despite those three problems. I flat out refuse to be part of the problem but I can admit that when I was new to the game I did pull the alt F4 a few times until I truly understood why that ruins the game. If asked I would say hacking is a far bigger problem because alt F4 only deprives me of a murder on the debug monitor and some loot I probably do not need in the first place, hacking fucks up the weapon spawn system and results in people losing their gear and life in an unfair way. Until they release the standalone these issues will remain a problem (at least I hope standalone will at least dent these three issues), so either sack up and do not participate in cheating or sack up and admit you play cheap. Not a big deal as long as you are honest in your cheapness. I will go first, I shot a guy with my M240 who only had an ax the other day, it was cheap but funny. But you are right I was not there and I am now just talking out of my ass about a situation I have no independent information on, if hacks are obvious I have no problem with alt F4.

I agree to an extent (I know it is funny after reading the last posts), I only care when people try to defend the action. If you are going to be a pussy at least do not admit to being a pussy on the forums. The only part I disagree with is where you say we are telling someone how to play the game, well if calling people out for cheating is all of a sudden "telling them how to play" then I have no idea how they hell we should act. It will never be fixed and when it happens to me I just move on to avoid ghosting. I never come on the forum just to single someone out, and to be 100% honest I only read the thread to see the rage (that I then participated in). I just hate people defending the use of blatant cheating though, I could care less if you do it but have the decency to at least feel shame.

Too funny man. I even said "IF YOUR BUDDIES" and then said to YOUR BUDDY RYAN WHO ADMITTED TO ALT F4ING" and you have the stones to say I lack reading comprehension. I was being a little harsh but your group is filled with pussies (maybe not you, congratulations for not following the crowd of pussies who inhabit this game). The main issue was everyone is prone to saying high gear is all duped/hacked and I can assure you that the group I run with has zero personally duped or hacked gear. We have a few weapons and items that were found on bodies, but most the high level gear was earned the legit way and when one of us dies we protect the body so the person can run back for the gear. Next time you say someone lacks reading comprehension maybe try reading the post.

If your buddies alt F4ed then it is a pussy move and you are in the wrong for even running with them. I am all geared out (except rangefinder) and I earned 100% of my gear in the legitimate way (only thing found on a player was my GPS, all other gear even the NVG were found from over a week and a half of NWAF looting). To your buddy Ryan who openly admitted to being an alt F4 moron you are a pussy. Unless they have God mode on or teleport you have no idea where the gear came from. I get the problem with hacking but take a death like a man instead of being part of the cancer.

How much damage does it do to players is the question (I looked it up on Dayz Wiki and it says 3555 blood which would make it a pain in the ass to use especially with pistol nerfing), I see them everywhere (despite never finding a CZ for the past two months even though they have roughly the same spawn rate) but I only pick them up if I have nothing else of use. Right now I am way too high gear to even consider it an option. Who knows to each their own, but with the ever constant threat of PVP I will stick with my high damage weapons with a M9 SD as back up.

Like I said do not bet on the tents working during this patch. It is sketchy to say the least and if you have a piece of gear you really want to keep you are better off just running around with the gear. I am a hopeless hoarder in this game and this most recent patch has broken any drive to gather gear (or worse vehicles) because they will most likely disappear.

Herr Jon, you will not have to be there when it restrats, just hope they come back. I know I lost two tents full of rare non duped gear with the latest patch and have not seen them since. I then have lost a car and a bike to the same problem, some servers are better than others but tents are hopelessly broken.

See that is weird, I have never had this happen while running up to the a location, only when I drove into the area and got out close to the building. Who knows it is buggy.

I noticed that when I was riding a bike the other day, I would go into the city and there would be no loot like a server hopped right into the building. After this happened a couple of times I hid my bike on the outskirts and walked into the next city and it populated loot normally. I think it has something to do with the vehicle.

Facepalm. So you still don't understand the concept of an alpha or the problems with it being connected to arma? Read an interview with the creator and you will understand the reason it can't be fixed until standalone and that even he admits the mod is broken. It is a free alpha so there is no reason he should drop work on the standalone to fix a tester alpha that could end up breaking the actual game you purchased.

They are usually on high population servers and some hacks are not obvious. Did that guy find all that gear legit or hack it in? Is that vehicle legit and did that guy find me using a locator. You are lucky, I don't run into that often but my only deaths in the past month have been by hackers. I've seen the jason hack, a guy on a dirtbike with god mode running me over, parachute cows, been to the thumderdome, teleport hack, and the wost hack insta kill (takes a true asshole to do this).

How do I alt f4. Well start by hitting alt and then hit f4 (I mean really how hard could it be if newbs can pull it off all the time). Only good thing about alt f4 players is when they mess up while doing it and I get to shoot a stationary idiot.

Who cares even the creator admits the mod is broken. I still enjoy the game despite the many faults but I realize its not going to get much better until the stand alone is released. Don't be a whiny bitch about the numbers for a free mod.

At this point it is just a waiting game, hope it is fixed by stand alone launch date and I know the mod will remain a hacker haven for quite some time.
