I have found every piece of gear and weapon from loot spawns in this game except the range finder. Been playing for months now and I have yet to find one of these anywhere except tents and player bodies.

Watch this video. I laughed my ass off at this roving hatchet gang.

To be fair they were not bitching, just relating a story in Dayz forum, maybe they should start a death by hack thread so people can post all of their stories and read just how many ways there are to die. I personally like hammertime right before the person teleports and shoots me in the face. While I hate dying to hackers if it is funny I will actually laugh and not rage too hard.

My helicopter stopped working after i landed it.
Zombie Jesus replied to Caplock's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You landed too hard, some servers have a bug where vehicles will repair themselves but probably screwed, you will need either engine parts or a main rotar assembly, but your helicopter will be gone by the time you get back most likely. Construction sites are a great place to look, there should be one North of you near the tractor spawn. Also Engine parts are the rarest part of vehicles, so if you have the storage take them even if you do not need them. -
Make hacking LEGAL - read before rage

Why can it not be both? OP, terrible idea man, just terrible. -
My last 4 hours of playing Day-Z
Zombie Jesus replied to Typheran's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Play lingor island, active admits minus the official rules means hackers are permanent banned quick. Been playing high population servers for four days now and not a single hacking incident. -

Just kidding, well sort of. I get much of the frustration in the community because I have experienced 99% of the same problems that you have in my four months playing this game. I have sworn to never play again after a hacker death, I have lost a 28 day old character to a rock, have died to snipers, been killed by people I have helped, died to bugs, had gear disappear, lost countless tents, lost countless vehicles, suffered friendly fire, and even crashed on the airfield due to a graphics glitch (more accurately a buddy crashed into my car and both exploded killing four of us). I get the frustration, but some of it is misplaced (Arma 2 update is responsible for graphics bug and being tied to Arma 2 also makes it hard to combat hackers) or fails to see what this game can become if standalone is properly rolled out (think much less hacking and ability to address glitches/bugs in quick fashion). Some of this is lack of communication, but this has been addressed by Rocket himself. http://dayzmod.com/f...-radio-silence/ He explains why he has been absent and why it is sometimes hard to provide updates (gets hate for saying working on it without a concrete answer so why say anything). The next patch will be done when the issues that can be fixed are fixed. This is a small development team, so lets all calm down and allow the process to play out bitching is not going to make anything better. Now I am not somebody just being a fanboy, but in some respects I can own that label since I love the concept of this game and that earns respect toward the person who came up with this concept through a mod. I have felt like the open alpha is a double edged sword because it allowed his concept to gain steam but now you have people who expect the game to work in alpha stage or are too impatient to wait a couple of months for a more polished release. If the alpha was closed you would not see this level of whining, but at this point it would be unfair to close the alpha for the mod, so we are stuck with this situation. I actually do not mind if people leave the game and wait for what will hopefully come. If the next patch drops and you continue to see bugs and glitches that would make your experience a bad one wait until those issues are fixed. When the standalone releases read up on the product and buy it if it meets your expectations, if not wait or save your money for something else. We do not all have to like what is currently there, but this culture of entitlement is beyond annoying. Since this is the interweb I expect nice civil responses leading to a rational discourse on the future of this game (nah just do what I do and be a dick). TL;DR, show some patience and quit your bitching. -

I did not make either argument, I just said one of us can deal with this in a reasonable fashion while the other feels entitled, end of story. -

Fine I am a hypocrite then, but this mod is less than 5 months old and has had some significant updates. I am not saying these problems are minor, I am just saying people have an unrealistic expectation of how quickly games are developed (still waiting for Half Life 3 I bet). If anything this community just reinforces the bad habits by developers to not open up the process to people who have no idea how much time and effort it takes to put out a polished game. You have two options, be a whiny little bitch about things (I see this is the option you picked) or show some motherfucking patience like an adult. One of us will be content for the next couple of months while the other is raging about things outside of their control. One of us will be happy when a decent update gets rolled out (I realize 1.7.2.5 broke the game, I suspect he does not want to make a similar mistake with the next patch) while the other will just rage about how long it took to be released. I would much rather take the adult approach and remain optimistic and happy, but to each his own I guess. Edit: Was way too big of a dick in this post, but really how is showing patience after a month and half being childish. -

The one thing I will fault the development team for is poor communication skills to the community, but I can also see why it becomes a pain to discuss anything with any community online. They are perfectly aware of the issues in the mod and what needs to be addressed for a standalone, but they lack the communication skills to get this across to the community. The community also tends to not read relevant posts or interviews from other sources, but once again I get this complaint from community members. Much of the "feedback" at this point is rehashing issues already covered in depth in other posts, or just flat out whining about hackers (seriously that is never going to be 100% fixed and any meaningful fix will not happen until standalone, people really need to get over that fact). If people are being constructive I am fine with reading the same thing over, but when they are whining I tend to not suffer that nonsense. The feedback has turned into 90% whining with few suggestions on features, that is not constructive (and now I have added to this with this post, so yes I am a hypocrite). -

Facepalm, one of us understands what an alpha is while the other expects the World of a mod that came out for twenty people in May. If you are asking if I still have fun on this mod then the answer is yes, if you are asking if I am aware that this mod is broken right now I have to say no shit. Even Rocket has said the mod is broken, hence the standalone. You are one of those entitled children I was talking about, the game will be fixed when it is fixed, stop being a little baby about a small development team attempting to release an ambitious project in a fairly short amount of time. If the problems are never fixed then the game might be a one hit wonder, but if they are addressed and the game is expanded I get to say I was in on the ground floor testing a buggy alpha that was still fun. Sounds like the bugs are too much for you which is perfectly fine, walk away and check back to see if what you want fixed is fixed. Essentially bitching is for impatient children, so quit yer bitchin. Edit: told you I could be a dick. -

Hackers have never really concerned me, sure I hate them but beyond not stooping to their level and not accepting their scripted gear there is nothing I can do so I never let them bug me too much. I have actually tricked a couple into being friendly and since I normally have a satchel charge I try to destroy whatever they have spawned at the funniest point I can think of, otherwise I can live with the occasional hacker death. I laughed when I died on a rock north of the Ural spawn (which is North of the NWAF, so a pain to get back to) and lost my character, shit happens in mods right. I am just tired of the same whine post day after day, if you are tired of the artifacts or hackers join the club, no need to add yet another whine to the forum. Patience with the development of this game is what will solve most of these problems, but we live in a time where patience is a lost virtue. So far some decent responses, maybe my faith in the interweb can be restored. -

Like I said I expected dickish responses and so far I am one for one, show some patience and quit your bitching. If you do not like where the game is now wait until it is fixed and if it is never fixed do not come back, it is really that simple. -
Getting ticked off here.....
Zombie Jesus replied to kyle3009's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
They probably shut down, one of the drawbacks of community hosted servers is some of them shut down and a good number have gone private and/or lingor. I have lost three servers in the last month, but they are just pixels and I would have been surprised if your vehicle was still there to begin with. -
The People's Free City of Berezino [Safe-Zone]
Zombie Jesus replied to puppetworx's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You guys always have to rain on someone's good time, the OP did not mention a server so it is still safe and yes Berezino is still the safest of the three coastal cities with really good spawn locations. Whenever my group finds a vehicle we hit up the old lumber yard and grab parts to hunt for additional vehicles. While the city is a little off the beaten track it is a good place to loot for medical supplies and industrial complexes (by the time I make it up there I normally need next to nothing from the residential spawns, but it does have two grocery stores), and yes it is many times safer than Cherno or Elektro down south. Anybody saying differently is just taking an isolated incident and thinking it is the norm, for those of us who have actually played for quite some time we know Berezino is not a PVP hotspot. Nice city with good spawns (even a construction site inland that can yield almost everything needed for a vehicle), so I salute the OP for trying to give players a safe haven. Having said that, it will quickly devolve if so called friendly survivors start heading up there in large numbers because most of these guys call themselves friendly and only mean they are not actively looking to add a murder to their tally (which accurately describes me, not looking to kill you but if I happen across a geared player odds are one of us will die). -
First point is valid your second point is just you sucking at this game. Why crawl anywhere, zombies are beyond easy if you catch some agro crouch walking or running then go to a building and lose agro, no need to crawl around like an idiot looking for gear.

I was all for this suggestion until I actually sat down and thought about what a hive wipe would mean, sure it would clean up the majority of issues for a week or so but dupers would still have a ton of ways to circumvent this process and if they are not fixed I do not know how cool I would be with my mostly legitimate gear (I took an L85 out of my tent that was mysteriously put there after someone stole my offroad truck). When a new patch comes out you can still find servers using the old patch for weeks, log onto one of those servers and set up a tent and you now have infinite gear again. Or log onto an old version and dupe your body, take your high level gear and repeat (if none of you have seen the guys standing with a pistol who are "dead" this is the body dupe, highly annoying). I am completely fine with a wipe of all gear, I know how to play and it will not take that long to replace most of the gear (NVG's represent the only gear I have ever had trouble finding in a legitimate manner). Just to be clear I attempt to play 100% legitimate, this means I do not dupe myself and always feel bad for taking things from obvious duper tents unless it is too awesome to pass up (I am looking at you satchel charges). I usually try to satchel charge tent fields despite knowing they will be back. Edit: Debug fields and forest needs to eat any tents or vehicles stored out there to combat these vehicle hoarding a holes. If I find a vehicle hoard I also satchel charge that nonsense after stealing what my group can use (usually means two to a vehicle at the very least so no more than three).

Don't lie to people about Lingor, it is full of bugs but incredibly fun. You can gear up in under an hour and there are tons of military spawn points, but the zombies are stronger and they walk through floors (especially in the military buildings) while I have fallen out of houses from looking at my map. I have died to a couple of bugs in my week on the island but it is not a huge deal since gear is easy to come by. A good deal of the servers have side chat making PVE easier, but people are not suddenly nicer to strangers so there is still plenty of KOS. They are not hacker free but hackers get banned without having a ridiculous burden of proof (like the idiots who always want fraps) so they are not nearly as frequent and many of the bugs are gone (yet to find a vehicle although in this map I am sure it would be stolen even if it did not glitch out).

Poll: Reason to why you would leave DayZ?
Zombie Jesus replied to twinturbonet (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Maybe I came off too dickish, I really did want to say that the way you are approaching this question is very valid, unlike some of the whine posts that come out day after day (oh no you were killed by a hacker have never heard that story before). There is a reason people are leaving but I feel as though you missed an area, playing but doing so on private servers. I have been splitting my Dayz time between my old haunts and private lingor servers. Some of the people I play with will only play private servers because they have fixed some of the bigger bugs and can ban hackers without all the problems. -
Poll: Reason to why you would leave DayZ?
Zombie Jesus replied to twinturbonet (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Correction, there are multiple threads on this very subject. In fact every day I see at least three threads like this one, although yours is not coming off as some huge cry so you have that going for you. -
Some on private servers and some are understandably bored/frustrated with the current state of the mod. Many who left will be back for the standalone and the standalone will most likely attract some new players as well (anyone hearing about the game now would probably wait so they only had to buy one game). Those who enjoyed the concept but are too big of entitled morons to understand how video games are made are hopefully gone for good, I will be just fine without hearing the millionth player kill whine. I do not understand why so many on these forum's think this is some sort of death kneel though, most people who have not bought Arma 2 for Dayz but are somewhat interested are going to wait for the standalone. This means there are few new players to make up for the players leaving due to the issues talked about above. Then you have private servers and Lingor (also private) servers that are taking a significant chunk of the player base with them (BTW, play Lingor it is fun and provides a nice change of pace). Stop hitting the panic button over a mod that is far from being a finished product, if you see low player numbers post standalone then it will be time to worry.
-
I am bi polar, sometimes I will be nice and it usually confirms that I should not have been playing that way, but the majority of the time I will murder other players unless they are new spawns.
-
Missing the point, without death by players the game becomes boring. Sure getting sniped sucks, grab yourself a map and head to zeleno then on to the NWAF or stary (only if you want to die go NWAF). Berenzino is also a chill city. Really trying not to be a dick but you are not seeing the bigger picture here.
-
Yea I don't trust anyone I meet in game. I have saved people and then forced them under threat of death to not pick up a weapon while in their presence. Usually I just kill them (or get killed) but I try not to kill unarmed players.
-
Where did you get your weapon (AKA how bad is loot inflation)?
Zombie Jesus replied to Heiduk's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
My primary is an mk mod that I found at the NWAF. I had something crazy happen the other day though, I found an M4 CCO variant that had a holo sight and 203 in a vehicle. I put that gun in a tent, put an M107 found at a helicopter crash site in my nag and log off. Next day I log in and my truck is gone with no server restart and instead of an M4 I had L85. Now I am against most cheap shit but I kept that gun as a reward for months of legitimate loot gathering.
