Pendragon, we are all dicks man, it is a forum filled with guys that is how the world works. I think you might have taken what I said wrong because I have been making a concerted effort to not be a dick on the forums (I fail all the time). The suggestion is not really stupid, but it is also months late because they have already discussed changing how the medical system works and this same suggestion has been made many times. Some suggestions have merit, but you have to sift through the piles of shit to find the few that are not completely stupid. The game is going to change and it will most likely favor more player interaction and due to my deep paranoia of all dayz players I meet randomly in game it will be hard to adjust to. Even if I disagree with the suggestion, it still might merit some serious discussion (but if you have ever seen how big of a dick I can be about people proposing only allowing first person you would know I am a flaming hypocrite). I mostly play with IRL friends and used to have a group I met on the forums, but slowly they have tapered off their gameplay which has made me lone wolf it far more often. Reading over your comment I tend to agree that being alone is already a natural disadvantage and I also agree that developers should follow a vision and not grant the same cookie cutter games that people think they want, that is why Dayz is so intense in the first place. If you would have asked me if I would love a game where you spend hours gearing up only to get sniped and lose it all in a second I would have said that sounds pointless. I am hoping that there will be balance (it is hard to say that word) in the new system as well. Fuck, I sound like a politician trying to play both sides of the fence, but I have always thought that any mechanic that makes healing absurdly hard or time consuming will not really add anything of value. Maybe a couple minute delay for regeneration, but anyone suggesting more has really not thought through the implications of how annoying that would be for some forced feeling of realism. The full retard comment is from someone else's signature, but also from Tropic Thunder and on certain days it fills appropriate. Was not aimed at anyone in particular.

About a week ago a buddy and I were teleported to that tiny island and we decided to drive back in a fishing boat that was also on the island. It was over 10k from the coast and it easily took an hour to do it, just a terrible time. Should have just tried to force a coast spawn. Never knew the island existed until that day.

Inception is trying to murder you with boredom with those suggestions. I would rather play a CoD tournament with middle school children than be stuck in that terrible boat for more than one minute. Should have added swim out to the tiny island in the very southeast part of the ingame map as a goal.

But, righteous indignation is 95% of all interweb posts (second would be made up statistics, have hit both of my targets today).

Nobody is talking about items in the game, they will not ban you for having an M4 CCO SD that was hacked in because that gun is legitimate, but they can ban you for having an AS50 TWS (not in Dayz) or Makarov SD (but that gun sucks, still not in the game though).

There is no way to tell if a weapon that is in the mod is scripted for an admin, so you will never be banned just for picking up a weapon that is in the game. From what I have seen most admins who ban people for hacked in weapons will give a warning first, if the player then makes the choice to stay in that server and keep using the offending gear they will be rightfully banned. Picking up an AS50 TWS is definitely cheating though, stop being absurd and trying to justify the newb cannon. Also people should look up the new server admin rules, they pretty much have no rules at this point and have been unchained to deal with rampant cheating. If there is actually admin abuse go to one of the thousands of other servers for the game and be glad to not be on a server with another form of cheaters. Edit: I am an idiot about the no rules claim, there are still rules they have just been greatly relaxed and admins are allowed to ban people for using gear not in the Dayz mod. They tent to side with server owners unless the abuse is obvious, but then they can just host a private server and everyone wins.

Get a scuba set up and go looking for them off the coast, that is probably where scripters left all the vehicles.

They also need to nerf rocks.

The suggestion is not stupid, the forums have gone full retard (it is the internet so expect dicks around every corner, but people will take offense to the dumbest things on this forum). It does belong in the suggestion section, but no one reads that section anyways so I will not fault you too much for not giving it a look before posting here. The only problem I have with this thread is it displays how many people refuse to read what the developers have already stated about the standalone in numerous places, they have discussed changing the injury system since they announced the stand alone so the suggestion has already been noted and acted upon.

Yea I really was not trying to be a huge dick about the issue (I do have a radio on Lingor so I am not without sin), but there are some clear examples of guns that are just flat out cheap and make the player using them cheap and frankly a cheater. It is a mod so these weapons will remain and getting too worked up would be like pissing into the wind, I just wish most players would avoid the game breaking weapons and just pick up a cool variant from these boxes. My group came across a group with all hacked gear on Lingor and got into a firefight (this is how I got my radio, it is a hacker killer trophy), I dropped a guy and then was dropped by a one shot kill, but the noise was wrong. The surviving members of my group killed the guy and found a L115 on his body which is another .50 cal weapon. Was not mad and viewed it as a legitimate death because the optics gave him zero advantage in that situation over an AS50 or M107.

Different sets of principles makes it sound like one is not wrong. My principles dictate that if you are poor you can steal from someone who is not poor, who are you to tell me that is wrong? See how that works. Edit: but I kind of get what you are saying. I actually do not care about the G36C SD because it is essentially the M4 CCO SD and offers no advantage over the real gun, but I still would not carry the weapon. If you are running around with something that is obviously overpowered or has a thermal scope that also is overpowered then you are almost as bad as the guy who brought it into the game.

How about not supporting either group. BTW, it is within the rules to ban people using cheap hacked in gear. The only gun that truly bothers me in this game is the AS50 TWS, it is a one shot with a thermal scope and the fact that some do not see how wrong that is just bugs me. Just please do not come onto the forums to whine about your legitimate server ban if you do use it, no fucks will be given.

If you are going to look off the map those are your best bets, but a dedicated group being little bitches about vehicles can store them pretty much anywhere (and yes no matter what groups say storing vehicles off map is a bitch move). Problem is those vehicles might be underwater off the coast thanks to some stupid little hacker, so you really have no way of knowing. My buddy and I got teleported to the tiny island in the far Southeast corner of the in game map (not even close to being shown on Dayz db map) for a hack attack but managed to kill two of the guys and whoever was hacking did not have a weapon and was kicked after we identified him, but pretty much every vehicle on the map was on this island. We blew up the ones we could but did not have enough ammo to destroy all of them and save them so they would respawn, so more than half the available vehicles on this server will remain on this island. Edit: I am fairly sure the new patch claimed to fix this issue but did not.

Can not wait to trap some poor survivors in a burning building whilst my group laughs like sociopaths at their pain. But seriously it would be great to have this ability to burn somebody out of a building so you could engage them, it would also be awesome if it messed up their night vision in the process. Nothing worse than cornering someone in a building when you do not have explosives to get them out, you never know if the guy just aborted or is he patiently waiting aiming at the entrance. That is why I always need satchel charges, nothing funnier than engaging someone on direct chat and having them confidently say there is no way you can get into the building and telling them right before you touch off the charge what is about to happen.

I drive in 3DP in the forest to watch for those elusive rocks, but on any road or clearing it is straight back to first person. The guy who drives using the mouse is insane, have tried it on many occasions but just can not seem to get it right.

You want a grenade win story or an epic fail. A buddy and I were at the Prison in Lingor when a group of three people pulled up in an SUV and ran inside to start looting. We were on the perimeter when they ran in and my buddy managed to get up into a guard tower that overlooked the three barracks. I then took up position at the front gate (only exit) and waited. The group was being reckless (they had been announcing the prison trip for quite some time so we were already in position when they got there, and instead of securing the area they just ran right in but did leave someone on overwatch which we were unaware of until the fight broke out) and they all ran into one of the barracks together. The initial plan was for me to run to the front door and try and murder as many as possible with my SAW, but with all three grouped together my buddy thought frag grenade would be awesome. He threw his frag grenade into the building and killed two instantly, then I threw my frag near the back room and the last one was dead. Their overwatch killed my buddy in the guard tower, but then in keeping with the stupidity of the group announced to his buddies that the prison was clear and he was going to pull the SUV in and transfer gear from the dead bodies so they could all meet up again. He pulls into the prison and I stalk him to the barracks and when he is transferring a gun into the car I run up and shoot him point blank. Most grenade stories do not turn out like this, somehow I threw one in the open and it managed to fall at my feet and kill me. Another time someone in our group attempted to throw one over a wall and it did not make it and blew up our bus. Usually they just end up making a loud noise or worse yet killing the person who threw it in the first place.

Rocket had 1.7.3.0, but then was killed by a bandit who quickly buried his body.

Both groups hack and cheat. So called carebears will make rationalizations for hacking. I only do it to newb snipers, I do it to restock my gear after some bandit Coddie (credit to Angel for that term) KoS me, or I do it to help new players versus all the questionable gear floating around. Bandits, well they do it for the lolz. Dont have a dog in this fight since I am friendly on chernarus and play as a bandit on Lingor. Like someone else said I like to know what I am dealing with and have lurked on ***er forums, you definitely see both groups well represented.
