I read up on the situation and it seems like some terrible joke, but it is a terrible joke that affects innocent peoples lives so it definitely is not funny. I will not slam your country because that is counterproductive, I will say your justice system has made an egregious mistake that is reminiscent of third world countries and not a Western country that likes to think of itself as part of the modern world. That is what makes the situation so maddening, it would be equally wrong in a place like Rwanda, but you would expect better from a country like Greece.

I was in a helicopter last night and the entire group was ejecting above the airfield, having never done it myself I was waiting for the other members to start but it seemed like it worked when the helicopter was auto hovering from varying heights. Not even that high up either, maybe 25-50 meters.

Seems about right, also ask if the standalone will run on ArmA 3 engine, ask about taking a shit, see if you can get answers on duping, and maybe throw in a rant about how 3rd person ruins the realism of the game. I was actually pleased with the handgun nerf, what is the point to finding a M240 when a guy with a M1911 can kill you quick in a close range firefight. Head shots are one thing, but shots to other areas should not kill you quickly and you should suffer from having common gear in the game. Looking forward to item customization that Rocket mentioned, it would add value to the loot system so finding an M4 variant would not be the end of the journey for that particular gun. Also I would love an alpha that was not complete as a starting point, many of the remaining players are somewhat aware of what goes into game development and that the process does not yield immediate results. To save yourself a headache you might want to make it an invitation alpha until major issues are ironed out because a public alpha will mean a great deal of people will expect a finished product despite alpha being in the title. Really looking forward to this game and I am enjoying the community involvement that is increasing what the mod has to offer currently.

I have actually had fun the two times I experienced this glitch, still have all my zombie and player kills recorded but started out with my ghillie on and nothing in my inventory (not even a flashlight). Sometimes I feel as though awesome gear makes me overly cautious and I lose out on friendly experiences and die due to being too cautious. I think I do my best work with just an AKM found in a deer stand/firestation running around killing spawn campers.

I found a server running the Monky monitor and was somewhat surprised since it was a public server, at first I thought maybe this server has their shit together and is active in catching hackers but the teleport to the tiny island way Southeast (over 10k away from Elektro) quickly destroyed that sense of security.

Any good idea in dayz is ruined by script kiddies. A large fair bandit versus friendly battle sounds awesome, but it sucks to just get teleported.

Yea I found one and like all guns had to try it out on infected before destroying it and still found it horrible. The makarov has terrible accuracy and damage, being silent just reduces noise nothing else. Plus 8 bullets, if I was going to carry a hacked sidearm at least go with PDW SD.

I am pretty sure most people on this thread only want makarovs and double barrel shotguns. What type of game community makes non stop calls for removing everything in the game and not adding anything? That is right the anti game community that thinks everything under the sun is cheap. Even though I am not a fan of the .50 cals I could care less if they stay or go, these threads are getting a tad old though. Lets remove vehicles, lets remove third person, remove blood bags, remove morphine, etc, what would be left with if we listened to everyones opinion on what should be removed in the game, that is right makarovs and double barrel shotguns, end game status would be a sweet crossbow.

AS50 round to the foot, yea that was the shooter that killed me. But they do not really bother me at all, keep on keeping on. If I put myself in a position to get sniped by a camper that is my own fault, I should have seen you long before you noticed me.

I do not like sniping in the first place but if I have my perfect sniper loadout it will not include a .50 cal anyways. I will drop an AS50 for a DMR any day and twice on Sunday, but I am likely in the minority on this issue.

This is what I like to see from the community and with the base mod code being released I fully expect better minds than mine to come up with great tweaks to the mod. Great stuff guys and I will be coming by to check this out once it is released. Would be nice to know that there is no thermals scanning the forest for players and that zombies might actually be a problem for once. I knew there was a reason I kill every cow on sight.

You missed the point, he is saying the guys being dicks on sniper hill murdering new spawns for absolutely no gain are not playing as bandits they are just flat out dicks (I hate people who claim it stops that person from gearing up, it doesn't since they will respawn within minutes with the same starting loadout that you just shot them for). I pull some huge dick moves when not in Chernarus (if you see me on side chat in any other map do not believe a single thing I say, I am with a group and I will murder you), but even I draw the line at new spawn sniping. Bandits are attempting to survive while also playing hostile, the correct word for the other type of players are dicks and deathmatchers because they have no interest in surviving and just want to kill people. Using a sniper as part of a team gives you an awesome tactical advantage and can provide great overwatch support, so there is nothing inherently cheap about sniping it just tends to become cheap in the hands of assholes. I have new spawn sniped a few times and found out two things about myself as a player, I lack patience to sit on a hill waiting for people and I do not enjoy killing people who have no shot of fighting back. I have tried every play style this game has to offer (well legitimate play style) and that is by far the cheapest and dumbest one available (plus most of these guys are dupers, scripters, and exploiters because new spawn sniping is dangerous with people like me rolling up on the North side of both towns looking for some glowing bushes).

This argument is hilarious when you look at all the extremely cheap cheats this game has currently, arguing over a papercut on one hand while you bleed out from losing the other to an axe. Loot piling is an exploit of the game mechanics, but I would rather find a loot pile than find a frozen character standing there with his pistol out (the full body dupe for the uninitiated). Would rather find a loot pile than a strange medical box on the train tracks that gives you any gun you wish. Would rather find a loot pile than watch two guys pick up the same backpack. Would rather find a loot pile than . . . well you get the point. Plus those who use loot piles are usually too busy to notice the guy who just walked up to the barracks and is pointing a weapon at them, easy kill and now I do not even have to loot pile because I get to steal their gear (stopped caring long ago how other people got the guns I want, not my problem how they found it and if I kill them that item is now legitimate in my hands as long as it belongs in Dayz).

I gave you beans despite somewhat liking text sidechat, I get that it is an "immersion" breaker (had to put it in quotes because I find the whole idea of immersion to be complete BS but that is just an opinion) but it can be cool to talk with people who just killed you or someone in your group. It can encourage group play, but mostly it encourages people to do stupid things like give away their position for an easy murder for my group. I am not constantly spamminig the side chat, but if someone starts saying something concrete and I am near them I will play friendly to gain information. They learn an important lesson everytime, do not give up your position to assholes on side chat it will not end well. I had a great helicopter battle with a group on Fallujah (five deaths total from the fight, only one survivor) and when I came back later I did strike up a conversation with the group that eventually led to a Skype call and a night of teaming up, it was made possible by that incredibly annoying feature of private servers (it was only us on the server at the time so it really was not ruining other players time on the server). They should add an easy way to disable the function for those of us who do not really care for the feature. I am still laughing to myself right now as I look back on the multiple kills that were made possible by people on side chat.

It is one hell of a run, especially when you consider how many times you are likely to die on a public server to hackers it just seems like the effort outwieghs the reward. I was running to Zeleno from Elektro yesterday and I gave up at Green Mountain and logged off to play a different map, forest running gets very old and I am fairly certain a scripter found my bicycle (I was in forest above Elektro and bike was hidden inside of a tree surrounded by other trees meaning it was next to impossible to see, I knew where it was and walked by it once had to have been ESP hack). I used to keep camps on the edge of the map near the Ural spawn, but the run became insane. You could do the Western edge of the map as well and not have such a long run from a Kamenka spawn, but scripters are not really something to worry about when it comes to tents since they can just make a magic box appear.
