We all hate hackers, but if you are going to hack what the fuck is with the insta kill hack? Do something epic or funny, it really does not make any sense what the appeal is of that hack. Great you ruined someones good time, how much fun could that really be (I might be slightly butthurt about this subject right now since I was console killed around 10 times on a server then the moronic admin just started making accusations and banning everyone)?

The mod is already getting fragmented with the private hives and individual private servers and while the issues you bring up will further fragment the community I think the positives of innovation and variety outweigh the negative of fragmenting the community. The mod would die after standalone with out this move, so I view it as completely a positive step toward getting more content (plus it is free content which makes it even cooler).

Had to laugh, this poster had the distinction of being the first poster to enter the new graveyard section in the forum. At least this time you changed the theme from complaining about PvP to a "project." What you want is to do something dangerous without the danger, not really seeing the point nor do I think you will be able to pull it off in a populated server. If a sniper does not gun you down a player near the highway will shoot you close range.

I am just going on what Rocket has said a couple of times on the forum and in interviews, the standalone will not initially be open to mods to cut down on hacking. There will probably be a point when they open it up, but the standalone will be developed by the BI not the modding community. The mod will remain as a separate project that could eventually look very different thanks to community involvement and for some reason people have to keep repeating that the free mod is free to far too many people on these forums.

Yea that is how this works, but for someone who is a low level employee or interested in game design it can help build experience and get yourself noticed by a company. For most it is an unpaid hobby, many of us have things we enjoy doing without monetary rewards.

He always said the plan was to hand over the mod to the community, which is a great plan to give the mod up to a community that cares about the game and is willing to put in numerous unpaid hours to make a better gaming experience. Check out some of the mods planned by some of these people and you will understand why this is a great thing and how it will keep this mod playable even after the standalone. Recently we have seen new content added by Vilayer (ok I should say Vilayer taking community ArmA2 maps and pasting zombies and loot into them without many alterations, but still very fun) and this trend will hopefully continue and get even better. The team developing the standalone is fairly small so it is understandable that they do not have time to patch the mod while simultaneously working on the standalone project. After standalone was announced I always knew the mod would become something of an afterthought to the developers since there is only so much time in a day. I look forward to playing the standalone while also checking out some of the cool ideas this community can come up with, sounds like a win win for everyone involved.

Man I am on the downside of the curve on this poll, come on old players (only in a video game is 28 old) lets make our presence known. I have to agree, for his age he is very even keeled (well actually for any age on a forum, I think I am more prone to being a gigantic douche on these forums than he is) and I was surprised to see he was 15. I think he was the one who started playing Pink Floyd while driving down the NWAF runway, that definitely threw me off.

I was really hoping for a win in this thread, always wondered what kind of damage that thing does (yes I have looked up the Dayz wiki damage table, I meant what happens when it hits a vehicle).

Not going to go into some long rant, avoid this server unless you like getting console killed by people and getting banned for calling him out on his nonsense. Was console killed (lame right, at least do something original) at least seven times over the course of thirty minutes and no one could figure out who it was until the finger was pointed at Big Black B, then magically an admin message would come up about a ban of a hacker. I thought problem solved and play some more, then same nonsense starts to happen and it repeats itself until I finally call hacker as well and was banned. I do not sit there with Fraps at the ready so my bad, but everytime someone would call him on it he would write an admin message calling that person a hacker and then booting them, but the problems just kept happening despite that hacker being caught. Not asking for any action by anyone, just warning other players about this player and possibly the server. Sure I will get flamed with cool story bro, proof or it did not happen, and a host of other lame excuses but I would ask anyone who has seen me post on this site if I am prone to whining about this nonsense. Fair warning and hope this skiddie gets herpes in his eyes (end rant). Edit: I sent a PM to the person advertising the server on this site to discuss the incident and would like to make it clear that I have no idea if this was an isolated case or was a clear case of not only admin abuse but admin hacking.

Whatever man, the admin on duty that night dropped the ball. Just don't call me a fucking hacker and take better care of your server. The reason I "sound convincing" is because I am telling the truth, the only reason I have been somewhat civil about this bullshit is because I know hacking is a huge problem but who ever was admin that night either dropped the ball or was allowing it to happen (it lasted for 30 to 45 minutes, if I would have been banned as part of a wave I would have shrugged and said no big deal). I am active in the community and have been playing since mid June, this is my first server ban so that might give you a clue to the type of player I am. Were you even there? If not shut the fuck up and send the admin to talk to me or let the thread die, it really is that simple. The reason you have not offered even one example of something I did is because your admin banned me on a gut instinct that was wrong (plus I made it worse by chewing him out over voicing that gut instinct, I could have handled that part better but like I said I was frustrated by that time). Also, you bumped the topic after it was buried, I was pissed when it first happened but I even started out by saying I did not want any action taken, just warning decent players to stay off this shady server. You said you would gain nothing by reversing my ban, you would not really gain anything but you would be showing integrity, but that is not the point of any of these posts and I made that clear from the start. After the experience I had on your server I would only join on accident, but to be 100% fair to everyone else on that server who is not you (or the admin who banned me) I have nothing against them and I understand vigilance against hackers. Just try to make the right decision in the future to avoid butthurt people like myself who are wrongfully banned in a server with tons of shady shit happening. Oh and possibly try not to be a gigantic douche, but that is really personal advice.

No, the only helicopter incident I have on takistan ended with a guy blowing up our UAZ and little bird with a Chinook (he saw us fixing it up and cleverly got in the gunner seat of the Chinook and waited for us to come back, props to that guy for a good set of kills). I really do not even care about the hacking because that shit just happens and there is really nothing I can do to stop it as a player, just hate being accused of hacking when I do not cheat. Bravo on coming in to help your buddy with zero information. Also I fixed your post (with some dickishness mixed in because at this point I have dropped being respectful).

Just let me know why you even thought it was me, if you have any control over the server or ability to read through recent activity you would know none of that shit had anything to do with me. Whatever man, when I left you had already banned the offending party and absolutely nothing was happening, you did not kick me over an incident you kicked me because I cussed you out (who would not be frustrated after a night like that). It was Big Black and nemesis at that point and you probably caught someone in the helicopter or the guy in the Truck because nothing had been happening for quite some time. I really do not know what was happening, all I know is I was not hacking and if I was I was the worst hacker in the world. I entered the server with decent gear but was then console killed numerous times and somehow people would find me in vehicles every time I spawned after death, it was weird and shady but what do you have to lose with a bandage, pain pills, and a flashlight. I edited and today I said that I was not really sure who the fuck was hacking, but I would agree that big b (see how easy that is to get confused later with big black, sorry for that one) might have been doing something shady. They picked me up at the airport despite the fact that I did not give the position, then after the first wave of killings they found me again within a minute in the wilderness. Then after another suspicious death I spawn and some other random guy comes driving up in a car and you guys eventually banned him. Was on edge and saw the warning for teleporting and even said "if you have proof bring down the banhammer." Was not trying to be a smartass since I legitimately do not cheat. I do not want a reversal nor have I ever asked for one, just was putting it out there that I experienced massive hacking issues on the server and then the admin was banning for absolutely no reason. You guys pay for it and frankly I know my ban was over me cussing out the admin for the false accusation and I am willing to live with that. I get maybe you guys were on edge about all the nonsense but we both know you were just making an accusation then you got mad when I told you to fuck off. Not really cool with being called a hacker when I was killed 7 to 10 times in a short span by instant deaths. Then I am accused of teleporting as I run around the palm forest without shit on me. Use some logic man, what type of hacker would go through all that and not pull some stupid nuke the server, teleport, console kill, or other nonsense. I responded as any legit survivor would when accused of hacking when you were the target of a great deal of it and frustrated with the bullshit. If possible find it in the logs, I have never scripted a single time in any game so I already know the answer, otherwise keep your server clean for other people.

Nice man, I have actually met some very decent people on this forum and had some fun in game. Most of my encounters are positive for the most part (one time out of about 10 or 12 went badly) and I too have given away a good deal of my stockpiled loot in Chenarus. After awhile you know it will get stolen, bug out, or be destroyed by a scripter so I do not see the point in having tons of loot all to myself (especially with my regular group playing other maps for the most part) and I would rather someone take it and enjoy it than lose it in a lame way or feel obligated to check that it is still there.

Abort instantly then join another server and alt F4 right when you click ok to join server to force a coast spawn. I have experienced the log in death, but this might be different. Did you have a backpack when you spawned?

It is the vehicles and amount of barraks at the airfield, whenever I go there I see at least five helicopters that are able to be fixed if not more and other spawns are available on the map. You have offroad trucks with Dshk and an armored Humvee with a .50 cal, but yes the actual city is boring and bland (although apartment row can be cool and there is another military base somewhere on the map). Variety is the spice of life, I do not like Takistan due to the desert running spawns (at least in Fallujah you can find a building to jump off of) but it was still fun once in awhile. I did earn my first ever server ban by possibly the most incompetent server admin I have ever met though, get hack attacked over ten times in a thirty to forty minute play session (the console kill) and the guy accuses me of hacking. I have zero weapons, zero kills, and was running in the worst part of the map and I get the blame, just classic moronic admin looking for a scapegoat when I have been painstakingly putting up with hacker and cheater nonsense for months without ever even thinking of crossing over to the dark side.

Not saying you should not be able to kill me with a common weapon, just that it should be harder to kill me with a common weapon. I do not want Dayz to feel like some stale MMORPG where leveling and skill trees are the norm, so I am perfectly fine losing a fight with my M240 to some guy with a makarov who got the drop on me, I just would prefer my M240 to do far more damage than the makarov. Hell the other day I was on Fallujah and a guy comes up on a bike into the warehouse I was looting and he had an AS50 and I had a hatchet, we both died at the end of that fight and I found it hilarious (he did not). I could live with four or five direct body hits knocking me out (meaning you would eventually kill me if you shot me a few more times), but killing someone or knocking them out with two body shots with the lame ass makarov would be inappropriate. Even the .45 Colt and revolver should take a few shots since the M4, a rifle designed for battle, does not kill you in two shots. Like I said, head shots are head shots, but even there I actually know someone who survived relatively intact when a bullet went through his frontal lobe.

Yea my experience with it was limited and when I quit a game I alt tabbed and close the game through Dayz commander (but you said that killed people as well) so not real sure about my statement earlier. Hackers be hacking, seems like I have become far too accepting of the grief these people cause. Starting to think I was just lucky during my experience with the Monky Monitor, at least now I know what the script can do to a player and out of caution I will take your advice on ctrl, alt, del and close it in task manager. Funny how I was the 7th reply, putting me firmly in the retard replies category (fair enough, but original post was vague). I also think you might be wrong about what the Monky monitor does, although I would say I do not have a huge amount of personal experience with this particular script. When I played on the map with the Monky Monitor I played normally for about thirty minutes or so with no problem, but I did notice anyone who died was called a hacker which actually made me laugh. It is a clear sign that a hacker is present, but your death most likely came from another script (once again might be wrong but my experience with the server shows I was both able to live and log out normally with no consequences). I did eventually get teleported along with the rest of the map, but until reading this thread I thought it was just some quirky sever side option that was running. I get dickish real fast, but I also get over it just as quick.

Dance monkey dance. Talk about your sick sniper kills and 25 new spawn murders and everything would be fine, try something different and people ask what the point is of the post. We are in the same boat, too many posts to just give up on the community but increasingly aggravated by the mindset. A woman playing Dayz, she must be a WITCH.

Utes is a fun distraction from the other maps, but to me feels like someone wants to play ArmA2 (which you thankfully included in your post or else I would say go play ArmA2 if you want a deathmatch). I have had some fun times on the map, but the new spawn killing is out of control and I usually get shot before getting a weapon more than half the time. Like you pointed out it can be great for those who might not like PvP but would need to brush up on the mechanics of PvP for emergencies without feeling bad about killing another player. Funniest moment I had on the map was a guy getting mad because people kept shooting him on sight, come on man if you look around that map for more than five minutes you understand that is what it is for. I might disagree with BF3 sucking, but that is merely an opinion and not a fact set in stone. In before thread is moved to private hive discussion, take that faceless moderator.

Every time I see your avatar I laugh, beans to you on that fact alone. But yes people tend to not check out some of the cool videos and pictures that the gallery has to offer, in fact if it is not in the general section most people tend to not see it at all.

Have fun playing a game that does not exist yet. I would suggest trying more than once if you purchased the game, but hey that is just me I think I would not let one server dictate whether I continued playing a product I spent money on (also Dayz will refund nothing because you did not buy the free mod for ArmA2). FYI, Dayz is a mod and a standalone game will drop around the same time WarZ drops, I would suggest reading reviews before buying either product to ensure you are getting what you think you will be getting.
