Double tap shift just like you do when you lock in alt. If you hold shift do you run when this happens? If the answer is yes just double tap shift when it happens to unlock walking. Or just blame it on hackers.

Yea happened to me when Fallujah first came out and even after downloading the map from multiple sources it still failed to fix until the version was on Dayz Commander. It was fixed after that but you could always try to re install the mod and game itself to fix the problem. This bug almost made me quit, I was about a day away from never playing Fallujah again (not that big of a deal but had a bad week in terms of hackers and admins). Terrible bug and hope you are able to fix it, use Dayz commander it seems to be more user friendly than Play with Six.

I might be following both but it is hard to say with no standalone to compare the mod to. If the standalone just blows me away I will spend most of my time playing that but on release it will have less map options so the mod might lure me back with community generated patches or maps. I hope the standalone makes me forget about the mod but some of the new maps are pretty fun and if enough people are still playing I could see dropping n once in awhile.

None of this makes the game easier for everyone though, only the person who has the item gets the benefit everyone else suffers from not having the item, so it makes it harder to live. In my opinion thermals discourage bush camping, but with thermals I can definitely see why many people want the L85 taken out of the game (AS50 TWS does not belong in the first place). I do not agree at all with removing NVG since they are fairly common wherever military is found and they are theoretically rare. Sometimes people want to take the lazy approach to fixing a problem instead of addressing the real issue. If duping and hacking were checked NVG would not be a common sight and finding them would be a large achievement, instead of focusing on fixing this or at least saying remove them until this issue is fixed they call for the item to be removed. All gear makes your Dayz life easier, if that was the requirement for removing a piece of gear than everything should be removed. I know I feel a lot less safe with no weapon than I do armed, lets remove weapons. Helicopters are fun and at the end of the day the game should remain somewhat fun, they are also very rare so finding and repairing them in the official map is no easy task and you should be rewarded with the perks of your labor. Frankly I was being a huge dick and derailed the conversation, but in fairness the OP was a huge dick when someone respectfully disagreed so I do not really feel bad.

I will do no such thing, guy brings up something and then the first response that does not agree with him he goes straight into douchebag mode. I bit my tongue on the remove Thermal and NVG thread but I just could not hold back on this guy. Alright since that is out of the way I will just discuss the idea in a rational manner, I do not like the movement to take everything out of the game in the name of balance when no such balance exists or should exist. It is a persistent world with perma death, there is no way to give the guy who just spawned balance with a group that has been alive for days. We could put in starting load outs or classes, but then that is not the point of the game. So I always hate the balance arguments before we even get to the actual idea, there should not be balance in a game like this. It sounds like he is concerned with bases being spotted by the helicopter, but I will respond who cares if you lose your gear or base it is part of the game. I am fine with tweaks and changes (like maintenance) and hell I would not throw a fit if the helicopter was taken out the game, but hopefully it is not removed to protect Carebear McBitcherson's gear (damn was unable to keep it civil) from discovery. Plus it would take away the opportunity to take down a full chopper with just a sniper rifle, been spotted four times on the ground and was able to destroy two of the helicopters with a sniper rifle so if you are looking for balance right there we have a 50/50 split. But please go on, I hope every person who asks for gear to be removed is granted the request so we can all play with crowbars in the magnificent boring apocalypse (not aimed at you pendragon, I know you are not a fan of removing a ton of items either).

Yes please lets all ask for more things to be taken out, fuck asking for more items like normal fucking gamers lets sit around and ask the developers to leave us with only crowbars, makarovs, and double barrel shotguns so people can feel all safe and cuddly in the game. Lets seek to "balance" a game where balance does not belong. Instead of fixing the canopy (which sounds more like your computer having rendering issues, I see trees just fine) you call for taking out the Chopper. At least when people complain about Thermal sights I can see where they are coming from even if I am not in complete agreement (NVG are another story, sorry there is a common military item in the game guys must be so unrealistic), but this complaint is just weird. You say the tree canopy is broken and instead of asking for that to be fixed you want them to remove an ultra rare vehicle that only one or two people on the map will have at one time. Sorry you lost your forest base to a chopper man, next time take the sand out of your vagina before asking them to remove a feature and possibly think your logic through (broken tree canopy, lets remove helicopters sounds like flawless logic).

Stop using six launcher problem solved. Serious answer repair the game in steam and download six launcher again. Dayz commander is much better IMO but that choice is preference.

Fallujah and Takistan have military vehicles and extra Helicopters (even a C130 on Takistan). On Fallujah and Takistan you can find Chinook (double prop with three machine guns), Huey, Little Bird, and a shitty Med evac heli with no weapons. You can also find a Humvee with a mounted .50 cal on both Fallujah and Takistan and an offroad pickup truck with a Dshk in Fallujah (not sure if it is in Takistan). Have not played the new map (panthera) yet so no idea and Utes is a terrible little island with nothing of any value so just avoid that one as well. Lingor has a SUV but not sure if different vehicles are available but for every map there will be private servers that have different vehicle choices.

You might not see why it is a dick move but it is, have just a small bit of honor while playing this game it is not really asking that much that you wait until someone at least has a pistol to murder them. No it was not a dick move to take out the makarov since it is a terrible weapon in the first place and zombies are incapable of pulling dick moves since they lack the ability to think. Dying is part of the game so the guy who rages when he dies (regardless of when it happens) is being a baby. Pointless player kills are just a fact of life in Dayz and it depends on your playstyle whether or not you will think that hard about whether killing a player is beneficial or fun, but the idiot murdering new spawns pretending he is awesome at this game is just a douchebag. Why should anyone have to think twice to please a cheating scripter? If they guy was armed it is fair game and the only person who is ever in the wrong in a scripter death is the little douchebag scripter. Showing kindness to a skiddie is a mental defect, you befriend these idiots and ask for a box of weapons and only take a satchel charge that you then use to murder the morons. Sure they will come back but by that time you have already logged feeling less dirty about allowing bullshit to slide since it does not affect you. To answer OP, yes that was a console kill where the scripter just executed a command to kill you both, not only are they scripters but they suck so much at the game that they are unable to even kill you use teleports and scripted weapons. They are essentially the worst players to ever touch ground in Dayz, can not even cheat to win. Edit: what is a player shield, have heard this term before and never truly understood what it meant. Does it mean a guy playing legitimately with a hacker|?

My friends and I grow terrible mustaches for Christmas time then try to find the absolute worst Christmas sweaters in existence and post holiday photos on Facebook and make a Christmas Card. I get some weird looks at my job every year and explaining it just makes things worse (pretty sure my boss was pissed that I would make myself look stupid for at least three weeks of the year for a laugh). The wife tends to hate it quite a bit too, but I have the modern day mullet (goatee) for most of the year so it is not that big of a change.

Nice to see other solo players shooting this idea down, Dayz is not meant to be easy (although it has become somewhat easier) and the animation is not the reason bloodbags require two people. Either go hunting or try to trust another player, easier said than done but as others pointed out you would have people like myself with plenty of bloodbags sitting around getting too many kills without much of a consequence. People tend to never think about the greater implications to the game when making suggestions like this, it usually is someone who was way out in the wilderness almost dead thinking man this is a pain yet they never stop to think why it was designed that way. Now for the sarcasm, yea lets remove the only in game incentive to team up, sounds awesome.

Oh yea forgot to say you should use a new steam account if you bought the original through steam, or at least research how to get the new copy to work properly. That kind of depends if your old CD Key was globally banned but making a new steam account for just that game will work without any research, or you can just buy the game from another legitimate source and not have to deal with that problem.

Yea I saw that yesterday in the thread that is now in the graveyard, important lesson is never trust something like that without looking into it but most of us have downloaded something we should not have downloaded at one point in our lives. Buying a new copy will work but you will not keep your current characters, otherwise follow the steps they provided so you minimize the risk of losing your current copy before you purchase a new game. I felt pretty bad for you when I saw that thread man, tough luck there and just use it as a way to learn who to trust online. It is not like every youtube video has a bad link but if you notice it is new try not to be one of the first to try it out and always read through a significant amount of the comments to ensure you can get a broad spectrum of voices saying the download is legit (people will create burner accounts to talk up the download but usually these are easy to spot and will be contradicted by real opinions).
