I was not being disrespectful, it is called hyperbole which you are well versed in even if you are too dense to know the definition. You said in the military deadlines were only missed due to laziness, I then gave an example of when a deadline were missed and added on your logic to the reason it was missed. If YOU were too stupid to understand that the last statement was meant to mock your logic that sounds like your problem, not mine. It was to show that your logic was badly flawed, the deadlines for Vietnam were missed for a variety of complex reasons none of which were laziness. Also wow on the go shoot yourself comment, internet much douchebag?
-
Lol at the military comment, so no war has ever gone on longer than expected? Those lazy Vietnam vets, if they had just stopped being lazy that war would have been over so quick.

I am not sure what is wrong with the Arma first person versus other games but I can say if asked before I played Arma what I preferred I would have said first person all day long. It is only this one specific game that I like third person and even here I rarely use it to purposefully exploit, not because I am "better than that" but due to sheer laziness. No matter what I will be playing the standalone because adapting is just part of gaming. Wabbit, your post is dripping with pretentiousness, bravo on being a video game hipster.

I think Dallas and sausage said it best but I would just add you are trying to force your playstyle on others since it has lost terribly in the marketplace of ideas. You are mad that first person only servers are empty and your solution is to insult and force other players to play just like you despite the fact they don't want to play that way. Then again I am probably just some casual newb who only takes the easy way out and the only reason I ever win a firefight is due to exploits and being cheap. It is like you see into my soul.

Can I give negative beans?

The lighting looks great and the new military complex looks pretty awesome, stoked progress is starting to pick up to a level where the broader closed test is right around the corner. Can not wait to get my hands on this game, it sucks to wait but hopefully the wait results in the game most of us are hoping for. Really looking forward to not only the release but seeing what types of updates can be achieved over the next year or so of continuing development.

SA DayZ: No Modifications? [POLL]
Zombie Jesus replied to The_Man's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It can be done better than what you describe though, other games on Steam have mods available and it does not reach the same threshold that Arma 2 reaches in being user unfriendly. I am cool with the game initially be locked down to combat hackers but once that is at reasonable level it would be strange for a game like DayZ to not allow modding. A game that comes from a hugely popular mod that does not allow modding would just seem surreal. -
SA DayZ: No Modifications? [POLL]
Zombie Jesus replied to The_Man's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Just have to laugh at the irony of the prevailing opinion in this thread on the Dayzmod.com but I get the sentiment behind not wanting the game to be modded. It would be cool to see the game eventually opened up for modding because it can add quite a bit to a game. Sure there will be some things that people will not agree with, but you give up so much by not allowing that experimentation from a variety of people. -

It is a zombie game so is it not appropriate to raise the dead. Lol, old thread is old and should not be posted in. -
Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?
Zombie Jesus replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
"If by part of DayZ you mean, part of the list of things that would make me eviscerate myself and jump out a window, then yes. But if you mean an actual feature. No, quite the opposite. I am strongly opposed. However, curiously enough, there seems to be a large number of people who not only don't seem to mind marketplaces but actively defend them." Found in this thread, was closed so could not quote directly. http://dayzmod.com/f...-it-mean-to-us/ Had to look up micro transactions and eviscerate. -
Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?
Zombie Jesus replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
I fully admit that I might give these specific developers more leeway than others since I highly respect some of their past statements and decisions (my personal favorite is his response months ago to micro transactions), but I do understand that sometimes those in the RDF get a little carried away with the love for Rocket. He is in fact fallible and I actually thought his complete radio silence before and after his self imposed deadline were mildly annoying, I just happen to agree that a better game is what most of us want and not just some slapped together product for consumption. I will now recite ten Hail Rocket's as atonement for mentioning my minor disappointment with the standalone delay so my fanboy card is not confiscated by the baby blue team. -
Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?
Zombie Jesus replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
It is not defending when you just accept reality. The reality is the game is not finished and issues will continue to arise. Hopefully these issues are sorted out quickly, but I much prefer waiting to getting a bad product. They should not even give an ETA unless they are fairly confident they can meet or beat the ETA, that is why there is no firm date given at this time because they are not at that point yet. I am also impatient as a fan to fire up the game, but my impatience does not lead to wanting a worse product just to scratch that itch. I am not saying "take your time" I am just accepting that it will probably take time. I would love to have the game tomorrow, reality just dictates that it is not an option and since I have no control over the issue I can just sit back and wait. -
Weirdest / Worst / Annoying Hacker Moments
Zombie Jesus replied to dulix11's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Last night I was trying out Celle on a server with two other people and I land a plane at an airfield start running and while checking my back I see a guy teleport. Turn around and fire two m14 shots and over side chat all I say is "that is what I thought" then death. The guy had the nerve to yell at me for KoS after I respawned. -
No Pepsi, Coca-Cola or Heinz in standalone

Or the curse of Green Mountain Condensation is born. Edit: Perspiration sounded gross as a drink. -
If third person was removed from DayZ...
Zombie Jesus replied to Imafighter's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
For some reason first person in Dayz drives me crazy even with head bob turned off and FOV increased. I normally prefer FPS over TPS but for this one game I really like the option for driving, long runs, and looting. I tend not to exploit it not because I am somehow above that but due to laziness in such a large world. But if it was removed I would just adjust. I doubt it gets removed though, it will probably be a server option so both groups can enjoy their preferred playstyle. -
What is Your First Instinctive Reaction When Spotting a Player?
Zombie Jesus replied to DemonGroover's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think work boredom is responsible for at least 90% of my posting history Demon. But on the question I would love to say I take the friendly approach but I will usually take a shot on the person especially if I am in their line of sight. If it is obvious that they do not or can not see me yet I will either walk away or try to make contact. Making contact usually ends in one of us dying though, but if they act reasonably friendly I might even group up with them or give a blood bag, but my fear has given me a bandit on way too many servers and whenever I have that damn turban almost no one will allow a friendly encounter (I get why but it still sucks) so many times I am forced to either be a jerk and KoS or slink away hoping they do not notice me. -
So, is Soldiers Clothing legit or not?
Zombie Jesus replied to Egor190's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Individual server admins might ban you for using hacked gear, battleye will not ban you for just using hacked gear you find. If you spawn stuff in you can be banned from battleye, but picking up hacked gear can and often will lead to individual server bans from active admins. There is a huge difference there, if you are actually hacking you can be banned from every server using battleye, picking up hacked gear might just earn you a ban from the server you are currently in at the admins discretion. I really want to know what the solider skin adds now (BTW solider skin is different from camo clothing which is often a legit drop depending on the map you are playing), off to Google. Depends on what type of server. Some private servers give server owners admin powers that can be used to locate vehicles and players, edit player starting inventories, spawn in weapons, and possibly teleport (not sure about the teleport one) that technically is not "hacking." Not all servers have these tools so it really would depend on who the server hosting company is (DayZ st. has quite a few admin tools). So that guy might be a legit server owner just using admin tools, or he might be a hacker. But if he is using his powers to help friends on the server then yes that is admin abuse. -
Dayz: Your Code of Conduct
Zombie Jesus replied to DemonGroover's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
1. Look for basic gear while leading a zombie train through populated towns. 2. Walk out in the open while never attempting stealth leading to my inevitable death. 3. Laugh at my recent death and go back to playing. Or if I find a vehicle. 1. Drive around until I finally destroy the vehicle, if I see zombie spawns make sure to honk horn. 2. Go on high object and whisper kick off to my death. 3. Laugh at my recent death and go back to playing like moron. -
If you want to be a rich man then develop a way to completely lock down PC gaming from hackers. You will quickly see that software licensed by many game developers. Or you can go with the conspiracy theory angle of "developers do this so hackers will buy more keys."

So what are your plans for Standalone
Zombie Jesus replied to soap167's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Explore the map and attempt to be friendly until I am burned one too many times, then go on a bandit spree to destroy others sense of trust. -
Poll: Do you think, ones the SA is out, there will be and pros for playing A2 DayZ?
Zombie Jesus replied to tals975's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hard to say with so little information but I do enjoy the variety of the mod right now. If I want to go hardcore survivalist I have servers and additional DayZ mods that provide that option or if I want to go the easy gear/vehicle route there are plenty of servers that provide that opportunity. Loving Taviania as well so I see some positives in playing the mod even when the standalone comes out, but I will easily admit that the standalone will consume most of my gaming time upon release so the mod will hit the back burner for at least a couple of months. After that it is a matter of how fast content is coming out for the standalone, if it gets stagnant I might just return to the mod to mess around on the different maps as I await more features to roll out in the standalone. -

Standalone character animations!
Zombie Jesus replied to Ovation's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Agreed, BI knows what ArmA games are for and it is not for a casual FPS that mimics CoD, the core ArmA fans are looking for a better milsim experience not some shameless rip like Medal of Honor. They even get the benefit of many gamers like myself now being huge ArmA fans since DayZ sparked my interest in ArmA 2. I am really looking forward to ArmA 3 because I have enjoyed ArmA 2 a great deal despite the game being fairly old when I finally tried it out. -
My buddies find it weird that I will never allow them to touch my gaming rig and this is exactly why. I had a buddy stay over for a week and a half and I told him very bluntly not to mess with the upstairs computer and to use the laptop, but he decided to download a bunch of nonsense onto my gaming rig and promptly learned that I could care less how safe it was (downloaded music from piratebay and iTunes) that the rule extended to mean do not even fire it up if I am not there. Needless to say it is now password protected despite living with only my wife just to protect against moronic friends thinking the rule is meant to be broken. Password protect your computer and just tell buddies tough titties if they want to get on there.
