Sneaky spot is the end of the coastal road out past Kamenka, between the road and the edge of the map there is a dip and you can pitch a tent in the dip and it's invisible from ground level. vulnerable to helicoptors but its at the least travelled corner of the map even from aircraft.

wow didn't realize how long my post was, apologies.

i was on us 1298 with my friend. the back story is that my friend stole their repaired chopper right out of their base and we just trolled along finding their camps. it became time to refuel so we go to our usual remote gas station. at this point it's just myself, my friend and about 7 members of this clan on. my friend (our best pilot) goes, i have to go afk, i doubt we'll run into trouble but i'll get in the gunner seat so you can fly away if anything happens. no sooner than he left i hear an engine off in the distance, getting closer, coming fast. it was an atv. so i sprint to the cockpit and take off (my 2nd ever time flying). i scream away from the fuel tank and i hear the guy yelling for me "give him back his bleeping chopper!" my buddy comes back and goes, "ummm why are we flying tabz?" and he just laughes when i tell him the story. we thought that was pretty epic (until the next day, see below). we go to our impossible to find base with it and park for the night. i sign on the next day and the chopper is still there, good sign. as i'm standing there an admin turns up and bam, server restart. come back in, no more chopper. think to myself, well it was a fun run, maybe we'll find it soon. little did i know. later on another clanmate and i go out to their camp and raid some of their good stuff. at this point i'm on day 9 with my character and have survived several firefights. i had seen a pbx earlier at krutoy cap so i try to swim out to it in the rocks. well the rocks were bugged and i managed to break my leg and bleed out while swimming next to rocks. this pisses me off because i had everything i ever wanted out of a dayz life. i spawn back in and lucky me i'm in electro, no sweat i'll run back and brave the rocks again and get my stuff back. my friend takes refuge on the small island next to the cap lighthouse. as i'm running my friend yells over ts "i see the camo ural! it's com ing your way." so i keep my eye out and never see it. i get back out to the cap and make an attempt to salvage my stuff. i get it all back and then fall into the water, stuck between the rocks. i break my leg, pass out and drown instantly from the rocks again. now i'm really mad. i manage to spawn at otmel and think to myself, ok last try. when i get to kamyshovo my friend yells out, the truck is here, there's two guys in it!" now my friend is a shoot first ask questions later type of guy so i plead with him to wait just 2 more minutes, and that i wanted to steal their truck. there are a bunch of home clanmembers on now so i think it's probably them. he keeps asking to take a shot and i say just wait i'm seconds away, we can pull this off and it'll be epic. my only regret is i didn't have time to turn on fraps. i just get there and my friend goes, "tabz, i'm not shitting you, i hear the chopper. i'm hiding." i hear the chopper too and hide in the woods just taking in the scene. will this be some fantastic fight or is it a meeting of some sort? the chopper lands and i set out down the hill, still unarmed. my friend is calling out contacts, 4 of them, all ghillies, all with as50 thermals. zero fucks given by me i continue pushing towards them, eyeing the pilotless chopper. i get to the railroad tracks and my friend opens up on them with his svd. i see all 4 guys now all reacting to the sniper, my friend, on the small island, none of them paying attention to me at all. i see one guy drop, and another. another guy is prone, bandaging, slowly turning towards me, our ambush at risk of collapse as i'm defenseless. all of a sudden, his head disappears and my friend calls out "another one down, hahahahaha." i would have been creeped out if i didn't know him so well, knowing that he lived for moments like this. seconds later i've proned my way to the side of the chopper, my friend insistent that the pilot is still inside. turns out it was empty so i hop in and fire it up, not caring about the last guy, just trying to steal their precious. as i rise away i see the last guy taking aim and call it out, a shot rings out, my windshield shattering, a miss! i switch to 3rd person just as my buddies puts a bullet right through the bandits heart, a kill shot. i take off and get out of dodge, my friend slowly puts his sniper away and swims to the coast, gets in the truck to drive away, stops and decides to hide all the bodies with their hacked in weapons. as he hides the last guy a lonely shot rings out, right in the head, my friend dead and the end of our ambush. was it a hacker? a curious passerby, alerted by all the commotion? we'll never know. he spawns in at kamenka and i pick him up. by this time my other friend from the day before (the good pilot) has spawned in a short distance away at our camp so we go there and fly away. not too much later a hacker teleports us and murders us, the chopper gone for a week. we strongly suspect the clanmembers with the hacked in weapons are responsible for the hack, but have no proof. zero fucks given, an unarmed man and a starving man with an svd camo take out a truck and chopper load full of bandits with hacked in weapons and make off with their precious. we won dayz yesterday.

nothing more satisfying than the thunk of the m203 grenade launcher attached to the m4 or m16. once sighted a group of 3 near the ne airfield (yes people go here still) and i waited in the trees looking at the door to the atc. as they were running out i launched a perfect HE round at them, 3 kills, one shot. can't beat that for efficiency. also a big fan of the pdw, perfect for cqc.

hahaha the best arma player i know who has about a 15/1 k/d ratio has -36,000 humanity. seriously i saw this kid defend a chopper while my clanmates were repairing it and he dropped 7 guys in a row from one clan with an m4a1 cco sd. the funny part was the clan attacking us were all combat logging and this kid just anticipated every move and cleaned em up. our entire clan got banned by the butthurt admin afterward. so to get to -75,000 there's no way you only have 30-35 kills in this game. the truth of the matter is you've been slaughtering freshspawns all over the cities you coward. i hope to get into the same server as you when i'm clearing the hills of snipers, you won't know what hit you.

i once got sniped while clearing out the hills above electro (making the world safe for fresh spawns) and spawned at kamarovo. at the balota airfield i found a pdw, coyote back pack and an m4/m203.

theres a zombie sound when they're aggroed that i swear sounds like "Kyle" in a snarl. it's really creepy because that's my name.

if you're looking at the map and saying to yourself "hmm it seems to me no one would think to travel/hide gear here," chances are someone else is also looking at the map and thinking the same thing. personally i enjoy playing on servers with no waypoints, makes it harder to just cut through the woods and people travel along roads, which is much more realistic.

i remember a zombie running past me when i was on the bicycle. beans for those who pointed out how much faster they used to be.

seriously it's very rare for me to go without a decent weapon, bag and survival gear (mathches, hatchet, hunting knife) for more than 5-10 minutes, just need to know where to go. if you get a kamenka spawn, go north, 3 deerstands along the road and then the zelenegorsk grocery store. kamarovo/balota/cherno/prigidorsky spawn, balota airfield, cherno grocery, firehouse, apartments and pubs. cap golova, electro, drakon, krutoy cap = electro raid (stay out of sight from the hills). anything north of that you should follow the coast north to berezino. the only thing you would miss with any of those spawns is medical supplies with the kamenka spawn. geared in 10 minutes or less.

my friend and i mainly play this game for the lols. the other day we armed ourselves with crossbows and ran through electro making indian noises through voice chat firing bolts at people. another session my buddy had a bandit skin and i didn't, we spotted two guys running unarmed toward elektro. i had an ak74-kobra and my friend had an as50 with no ammo. so we roll up on the two and see one actually has a hatchet so i light into him. my buddy runs up and establishes comms and gives the guy food, bandages and his as50 and we just sprint off into town while the zombies i aggroed from shooting his buddy swarmed the other guy. antoher day a yellow hatchback pulls up right next to me and honks so i get in. turns out the driver had a hacked in jason skin "hockey mask and all" and the car was playing "sexy and i know it" by lmfao and the skin was actually singing along. it was funny as hell but i got the fug out of there as fast as possible. seriously its a game, make it whatever you want. stupid shit will happen but i have yet to see a game where something stupid doesn't happen all the time. (anyone that ever played sid meiers civilization III remembers at least once having a tank lose to a spearman, i have yet to see something that dumb happen on dayz).

go northeast, you'll at least find a massive camp near the coast past the bay.

the other day i had about 600 blood in cherno (only a hatchet and a can of beans to my name). So i basically go running around town asking for help in voice chat and secretly hoping someone puts me out of my misery. i manage to get across the town from the grocery store to the construction site without dying and i passed out right outside the door of the cons site. while passed out a player approaches, and i'm thinking, "whats this guy going to do? steal my beans and put a bullet in my head? steal my stuff while passed out?" so he comes up and it looks like hes rifling through my bag. all of a sudden i have full blood, the guy gave me a blood transfusion! i'm thinking, this guy is my hero. i wake up and he retreats out of hacking range and points his ak at me? i stand up and give him a salute and turn to run off. so this guy follows me and i'm really wondering what hes up to now. so i head north towards the barns outside of cherno in hopes of finding some sort of firearm and a hunting knife so i can go out and hunt my own food. we get to the barn and he cracks open a can of pepsi... turns out it was the last to ever hit his lips. as he finishes his drink a sniper shot rings out from the distance, my guardian angel is dead. at this point i'm not so much scared as i am pissed off. i sneak down the stairs and, careful not to expose myself, grab his ak-74 and mags. i creep back up the stairs and lay in wait for this sniper noob to come down for his loot. the guy took his time, maybe he saw me and was waiting, should i run away? no hes coming, i can just feel it. just when i thought it may be safe to leave i hear footsteps. i raise my sights and then i see a shadow coming around the corner. all of a sudden a guy in a ghillie suit comes proning around the corner, mother-effer didn't stand a chance. i shot him on full auto out of pure revenge. i waited a bit more to see if he had a friend and went down and lay the ak back on my new friend's body and loot the crap out of the sniper. he had some good stuff for a sniping excursion in cherno, nvgs, rangefinder. i take those two things and put them on my friends body and take the rest of the sniper's stuff and hide his body. from there i set off inland to look for a cow to slaughter. i never heard from my guardian angel again, i hope he came back and found his stuff and my thank you gifts. point is we're not all dicks and if you had seen the guy camping the deer stand, you would have flanked him and chopped him up. you only identified yourself as friendly when you were actually in danger. it's all about kharma.
