Spent the past five hours dying to hackers, server kills, our group getting killed, hackers showing up behind us and instantly killing us. And finally, someone showed up with some sort of a rhib boat and a 50 cal on the front of it lighting us up with rounds and grenade launchers as well. Give me a hack free server, or one with admins on constantly!

Anyone else find that outside cities you can run 60+fps and inside cities / looking into a city FPS drops down to 35 or so? I would love to get some consistent FPS because it's really hard to shoot zombies when my mouse isn't moving with me haha. Specs: i7 950 @ 3.9ghz GTX 580 Sli 6GB Mushkin ram I've heard many different stories, some people say servers effect FPS, which is somewhat new to me, and some people just say its optimization. Others have said to turn off Sli. If anyone has a fix, please share. Thanks.

Its hard to say, some servers give me great fps, where as others I dip down into the 30s. Not sure why this is, but this happens to me with all Mods for ARMA II.

It will run on low settings, the game is very demanding, i run BF3 ultra with about 90fps, I drop to 60 max here :(

Hey all, still pretty new to the game here, started two nights ago and got the hang of getting supplies / weapons and so on. Been really just roaming around the coastal areas. I'm looking to find a group of people to play with that aren't super aggressive. I play mostly at night, 12am - 4am EST. I feel the same way, hatchets are quiet, they don't attract other players or zombies. I wish they added a "tool" section where it could become your tool and you can still carry a primary and sidearm.

1) don't be scared to die when u first start, u will die a lot. 2) stay away from big cities, you'll get robbed, killed, kidnapped, terrible things. 3) when getting chased by hungry zombies, run into barns / building with 2 entrances, they'll get confused and leave u be. 4) Scavenge! Look through houses, warehouses, sheds, find a hatchet. - And don't fire your gun unless you really need to, it only draws attention, a lot of it. 5) When you run into someone, make sure they know you're friendly.. if you haven't been shot already. 6) The most important thing is find friends to play with, it makes the game much more enjoyable. That's all for now. I started two nights ago, was a complete newb, never touched ARMA II before. I've been able to find anything from a crow bar to an AK47, m9 silenced, m1911 and even some SAW rounds. Don't be discouraged when you first play, it's hard to get into, but it's very well worth it. Hopefully new players will experience the crazy things I've experienced in the past day, there's some stories I can tell here but it's already becoming TL;DR. Enjoy the game!

New to the game and to arma in general, getting to learn the kinks - looking for a server and some people to play with! Im 23 and have skype / vent.

I spawned in the wilderness today at the very north west corner of the map, I journeyed through all of noba..boa and all the way down to Kamorov - went through all the loot locations and found nothing. Almost got mauled to death a few times since the barns are usually filled with 2-3 zombies. Anyone have tips where to find a hatchet?

You can play with a lot of the settings to get good fps, but your game won't look that great.. it's not very good with SLI / Xfire, so I would stay away from that.

I know how it feels, been happening to me too. But once in awhile you get lucky and find a shotty... I do find it hard to play as a new player, it's very slow and takes a lot of patience. The worst part was I spent 2 hours today journeying down to a coast town only to find another player dragging a ton of zombies near me haha.

I would like to find a player I played with last night, it was very short but he taught me alot about surviving in the game - is there anyway we can track down players by their names?
