    Well BIS is funding the game if that's what you mean. I don;t really know the ins and outs of contracts ect. but it looks like they've given them a pretty open book in terms of what they can do, timescales ect. I remember Rocket talking about it at some point, for all intense and purposes, when it comes to DayZ, Rockets the Boss. I think he talks about it in one of the early devblogs when they first got the go ahead to make the SA.

    Standalone Zombies a bit OTT?

    I know it doesn;t really help your topic along, but for me it's just too early to say. They're not even implemented properly yet, let alone tweaked ect. I think when they are working on them it's the same as the key to getting the other aspects right, it's all about balance. I'm looking forward to Zeds being a bigger threat but like you I hope it's not to the point where your scared to move a muscle.

    The dev team always encourage criticism and you'll have to trust me when I say that we're some of the harshest critics. I just think some of the criticism in this thread is a bit mis-placed. Do carry on though. My main criticism ATM would be with the devblogs themselves. I'd rather they stuck to the format of the earlier ones, just some nice screenies, what they're working on an where they're at.

    TBH it's too early to start laying into either game, especially DayZ. It's worth remembering that DayZ will probably be in development for many months after initial release. If we're sitting here in a years time looking at a glitchy game with no content then I'll take everything I've said back, until then we just need to sit tight and see what they come up with.

    Mate, it's all being worked on. Just because you saw a clip of some new pathing for zeds (at a very early stage) doesn't mean the other things aren't being worked on too. In fact Rockets said he can't wait to move on to customisable vehicles ect. according to him and new clothes are being made as we speak, lot's of them. It's not a one man band, the programmers can work on bugs, pathing ect. while the artists are making things we will see further down the line. The whole point of the testing being done ATM is to eliminate as many bugs as possible so that's priority. Until that's squared away everything else would be pointless. It needs to have a solid base to build these things into, and for the moment that is what they're focused on. Adding sexy new content that we all want to see comes later, once it's solid.

    Also, many of the new interiors that I've been looking at are completely new, made just for DayZ, not imported. As are the new weapons, they are all being modeled and textured for DayZ, not imported.

    No worries. I can guarantee you they're working their asses off. In the testing group on Skype Rocket (and other devs) are frequently awake into the small hours working hard, contantly rolling out patches (hourly sometimes) with map updates/content/gear/bug fixes ect.so in that regard you have nothing to worry about. The testers are working hard too constantly filling well written bug reports that are addressed quickly by the devs. In fact I'm starting to think they don't sleep at all. They're literally at it 24 hours a day. Don't forget, this is a very personal project for Rocket and he's well aware he only has one chance to get it right. He's not just some random douche sitting on a board of chairmen trying to come up with ways of relieving us of our money as is the case with many Dev companies. Remember they're holding a lot back (in terms of info for very good reasons). There's some epic stuff being worked on, we just need to chill and wait, it's gonna take time to do it well. I can honestly say without doubt though that no mod is ever gonna come close to what these guys are doing. That's just a fact.

    Will the Arma3 mod have an epic crafting system or will we be able to modify our vehicles using items from the world. Didn't think so. It's gonna gave a shit load of bugs though.

    Depends how well they manage the whole thing. It wouldn't surprise me if it all goes horribly wrong for a day or two though. Having said that BIS underestimated the demand for Arma 3 alpha which gave them some issues but they got on top of it pretty quickly and hopefully learned something from it.

    I meant the paid for keys when people purchase. It was ages ago so you can ignore me really but they said something about releasing the keys in batches of *insert number* thousands (?) to stop the servers being raped. *burps in your face*

    You have 2 choices the way I see it. Trust your "friend" and and carry on, if it's a keystealer you'll soon find out by getting a global ban, or format your drives, reinstall your OS and burn your "friends" house down. Either way it's gonna result in you formatting your drives and reinstalling unless of course your "friend" was just rolling you in which case you may wanna re-think your friendship but that's your business TBH.

    I do remember reading something by the devs about cleaning all of that up so that the "hitboxes" for actions like that are much more intuitive.

    I think crutches would require a lot of work (new mocapped anims ect.) so I really think splints are the best answer, although I guess that'd require a limping action too :/

  24. As I understand it there's a reason that BE don't initially (but will after a period of time) release info on individual bans. That's because they ban in waves and hackers would love nothing more than to see a very specific reason for an individual ban for one of their keys so that they can continue to work around it for their next hack. In fact some hackers have so many keys they could happily get banned all day, ask BE for details on thier ban and then use that info to create workarounds for their next hack which they will then sell to make a hell of a lot of money. Let's not mess around, it's big business and BE weren't born yesterday. Let's not get into the details of why this mod and Arma are so hard to protect from hackers, that's been covered on these forums in great detail so I'm sure you're well aware (or not) of the uphill battle they face in trying to protect legit players form scripting. Yours is just another ill-informed post making stupid accusations based on no facts, just a keen sense of butthurt or unjustified paranoia. This is getting boring fast.
