You don't need a screen full of 300000000 icons for roleplay, in fact it get's in the way by constantly reminding you you're just playing a game. To enjoy a roll you need to be immersed in the game, a GUI like that doesn't help, it's just bad design. WOW has been around for years and it looks like they've just kept adding to it without thinking about the end result or if that stuff is even needed. It's lazy game design. Design is as much about working out what you don't need as what you do. -

Yeh, I have to agree. That GUI looks like a mess TBH. I've got nothing against emotes, but only necessary ones. Dancing, high-fiving, blowing kisses ect, should be kept to the games where they're suited, not DayZ. -

This pretty much goes against everything Rocket wants. His end-goal would be to have no HUD at all athough that may not be achievable so something like this is VERY unlikely. I personally don't want to see my screen littered with loads of rubbish. As you say it looks like other MMO's. People like DayZ because it's trying to be different. -

Actually the "shite" I was referring to (I hid the posts) were posts made by a couple of peeps known for trolling that were accusing the OP of several things including being a liar, nothing to do with boobs. Most people here use avatars that are pics of other people so we're certainly not going to start screening every user and censoring them, people have to take responsibility for their own actions. Anyhoo, back on topic. -
I'm not sure if we'll be shooting guns out of peoples hands but the way they've re-written the engine for DayZ SA means that each item will now have it's own "history" or attributes. An example rocket used is that if you shoot someone in the head when they're wearing NVG's then you'll probably damage the NVG's. I'd imagine the same goes for weapons and other equipment too.

^Aren't you the guy that tried to use our forums to advertise your services to install scripts for people on their servers for money? Preaching to the devs that work for free whilst you try and make money from a free mod seems a bit rich. It also makes me question your motives for not wanting things that aren't needed in the mod banned, because installing these scripts of now "banned" things for people that don't know how to do so is how you (attempt to) try and make money. In case I'm not being clear enough: I'm suggesting that your motives behind your complaints might not be as clear cut as it seems.

Screen going white after awhile

Where did you download it from? The reason I ask is because Arma has a copy protection called "Fade" that renders the game unplayable after a while. If it's a legit copy it may be an issue more Mac specific because it's not a prob I've heard of before. -

I'd say Chernarus too. There's loads of great maps but for overall balance and for a map most fitting with DayZ it's gotta be Chernarus every time for me.

When the mod was made I don't think much thought went into that TBH, it wasn't really expected to be very successful. The SA should provide us with some nice backstory though for those wanting to find books/clues ect. -

I'd love to see a trip flare (not sure what the proper name is) as in Arma where if activated a long burning flare is fired into the sky sky lighting up a very large area for a good few minutes. There'd be loads of cool uses for that. Edit - Maybe we could craft one using fish-wire, a flare gun and stick.
