Time we do this ourselves, fighting back against the KOS
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to thelonewarrior's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
All hope is not lost Lone Warrior. There's still a few "hero" or medic clans out there going strong, a couple are pretty big. The private hive situation has fragmented them a bit and confined them to individual servers for now but rest assured when the SA hits they will once again gain momentum fight the good fight. -
It's along process... Really the only way to get subs is to make good vids that peeps want to watch. We get people here begging for subs everyday for example and it never goes down well. Just get some good vids up, put a link in your sig that links to your channel and off you go. I made a stupid vid that got 2000 views and some I spend ages on hardly get any, I just do it for fun though and don't really promote or monitise it. You never know what's gonna work, for example SmashT (another mod here) made a really short vid showing an exploit in COD and it has over 100,000 views :/

Firstly I'd make sure you have permission from the original author because the bit with the DayZ logo and the cam zooming out was made by someone else and they may have sold the rights to it, in fact I'm pretty sure they sold it to a well known YT'er. ^^Ignore that, things have changed and it is now free to use. With that in mind my only criticism would be that it's a bit long. People are fussy and just want to get to the good stuff quickly. Looks good though =)

ban global ban battleye
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Miikaboya123's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Hi. Please refer to the advice given in the thread you posted one hour ago. You will need to wait for a response from them. No need for a new thread. We quite literally cannot help.- 1 reply

Now that they have done much of the initial groundwork the team is moving to larger offices in Prague and they are taking on more staff.

Hi Misho. Don't call people cunts on our forums. Many thanks. Have a warning point and back on topic.

I'd help if I actually knew what a KAT ban was :/ Is it a new community ban list or something because I only heard about it recently and still have no idea what it is :/

Why We Need A Release Date
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Dr. Goner's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Just to clarify, that one release date was for an entirely different project. That's the only release date they've ever made public too. Everything else has been speculation (admitedly after some bad communication from Rocket) . Initially they were just going to port the mod to a new engine and polish it up a bit. They missed the date because they opted to take a different path. Now they're making a new game. -

I guess really that answers everything tbh. It's from the horses mouth, no speculation needed. -
Why We Need A Release Date
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Dr. Goner's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeh I take your point although I've never really claimed to be unbiased tbh. Everybody here knows that we as mods are part of the testing team and you're right, that does make us bias in some respects. But please also be aware that I'm a single-minded 35 year old gamer (when I'm not working). I've come to the conclusions I've made using logic, sense and experience having followed the development of many games for many years. I'm not a star-struck teenager that wets my bed because occasionally I get to talk to the devs. I think you also need to understand that in game development terms, testers are the lowest of the low, we're below the lady that comes in at night and switches the lights off and forum moderators are even lower still so saying we're "basically devs" is very innacurate and displays a certain amount of ignorance on your part about the games industry as a whole. If the devs or BIS were to start acting in a way that I thought was irresponsible or in any way shady then I'd be out of here like a shot because I'd be ashamed to be associated with them and in fact I have been critical of them in the past but you obviously missed that. And just in case it's relevant, I've never once been told what I can and can't say on these forums, I only ever speak my mind and you're welcome to take it or leave it, I'd be posting exactly the same thing if I wasn't a mod. I think the reason you get frosty responses to your posts occasionally is not because of the criticism itself but the tone with which you deliver it, don't take this the wrong way but you can come off as snide or patronising although I know from experience you don't mean to and that your heart is in the right place. If you look through the forums it's full of criticism although of course the general trend is that people support the devs, that is the case on any official games forum in the world and is to be expected. Anyhoo, cheers for being honest and let's get it back on topic ;) -
Why We Need A Release Date
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Dr. Goner's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I was wondering when you were going to grind that axe of yours. All I've done is offered you my honest opinion. Thankyou for being honest though. Anyhoo, I shall leave you to it. INB4 you resort to calling other people with opposing views fanboys. -
Why We Need A Release Date
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Dr. Goner's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Well with that in mind it seems most of us agree with you that deadlines are a good thing and we've also established that the dev team do indeed have deadlines which really does only leave us to discuss why or why not we think we should be given a release date. I can only speak for myself personally, so I will. I don't need to be given a release date for 2 reasons. The first reason is that I'm just happy to wait, simple as that. I've enjoyed DayZ (although I got bored of the mod months ago) more than any other game in a long time and I don't want to see it rushed as is so often the case with many other games. The second reason is that having followed the development of many games for the last 20 years I know it's rare for a company to actually hit the proposed release dates due to unforseen circumstances and as a result of that I never take them seriously anyway. I personally think that as gamers we should be happy that DayZ is being backed by a company that aren't just going to force a game out to capitalise on the hype initially generated by the mod. -
Why We Need A Release Date
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Dr. Goner's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree. Sadly for us they're just not at a point where they can confidently do that though. As we speak they're moving to larger offices and expanding the team. Hopefully once they settle in they can give us something concrete. -
Why We Need A Release Date
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Dr. Goner's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeh, see you're missing your own point. I thought the point of your post about Parkinsons Law was to suggest that having deadlines is constructive. The dev team do have deadlines so I'm sure they'd agree. As I said that's different to making a release date public though. -
Why We Need A Release Date
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Dr. Goner's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think a lot of peoples frustration boils down the fact that they're still clinging on to the release date from before Xmas and they see every day since then as another delay despite that release date being for an entirely different project (ported mod) as explained at length in the subsequent devblogs. If you can mentally adjust to realise it's just a normal game in development it really helps ease the wait. Instead of then seeing every devblog as a load of bullshit and excuses you then just see it for what it is, progress. -
Why We Need A Release Date
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Dr. Goner's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think I'm missing something here. Or maybe it's just gone over my head. Having deadlines and issuing a release date to the public are two entirely separate things. They have internal deadlines and they've also opted not to make a release date public yet. What was your point again? I can't help but feel this thread should be entitled "Why I need a release date" and then maybe you could elaborate on that. -

Add physics to wrecked vehicles on the road to reduce colision damage
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Mikeloeven (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Sadly it's a mod so they can't just add physics, they have to work within the confines of the base game, in this case Arma 2. Although I do believe there's a mod that allows towing so that could be possible. -

For the last 2 weeks I've been having a driver related issue with my graphics card. I've asked friends, searched the interwebz and still not found a solution so if anyone here can help I will love you forever and you can have all my beans. The problem is this: Every time I turn off or re-start my PC it seems to remove (or roll-back) my drivers. If after a restart I boot up a game (any game) it will crash. I then have to update/re-install my drivers (from AMD) and then everything works fine - Until I turn off or re-start my PC, then I have to go through the process again. It only takes me a couple of minutes so it's not a massive issue but it is starting to drive me nuts. I tried using "Driver Sweeper" to completely remove any old drivers in case there was a conflict etc and installed the new ones completely fresh, but still I have the same issue :/ Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

(AMD) Graphics Card Driver Issues

Here you go Mr President: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/148010-dayz-mod-18-update/ That's the actual patch that requires the feedback, preferably after you've tried it. I think you looked at the rolling change-log...
