I think Orlok might be able to help, he's been trying it out. I'd hazard a guess it's buggy as hell though. It's not official, just a port. -

That's basically what they've done with the SA. Zombies will spawn on server start up and persist in the world until killed. This'll make life much more interesting and less predictable -

I think the unlucky survivors are the small percentage of the population that are immune to the infection. -

Exactly, I think that's the main difference. The JRS sounds are great but they're literally exactly the same every time. I guess there has to be a trade-off somewhere. -

The gun sounds in Arma 3 have much more "punch" to them and I don't think they'd deny Rocket the use of their sound library if he wanted. Here's a vid of someone testing the different weapon sounds. BTW if you've never played Arma 3, ignore the actual footage, i think he's playing the game on a potato. -

I think the animals suck now because they were only ever really supposed to be background extras in a warzone, in Arma you never really pay them much attention. I think one of the recent devblogs said something about making the new animations for deer so it looks promising. As I understand it Rocket wants the survival aspect of DayZ to be the main driving force, if the hunting turns out to be good fun, fairly realistic, require skill and help you survive then it'd add loads of interest to the game and give you a hell of a lot more to do. -

Yup. I don't think we'd ever see it taken this far but I'd love to see some proper hunting involved in DayZ. I'm pretty sure in the future it'll be much more important and realistic than it is now, the more they put into it the better as far as I'm concerned. . I could open a butchers. Edit - That game looks really good, I may have a looksie. Anyone tried it yet? -

Yeh but that usually implies you can't be objective or apply logic. I know it shouldn't but that's life. I prefer "cheerleader", at least then we get to wear short skirts and make human pyramids. -

Jesus, just stay on topic! It's really easy! If I'd have just deleted the post you'd probably be even more paranoid thinking people supporting you were being censored, we can't win. Yup, go for it. It's been a long time since I updated Arma 2 so TBH I can't remember if you need to install just the latest patch or update them one after the other, it should explain on the patch notes though. (A-team music on stand-by for a successfull install)

Running the length of the map can get boring but I'm more than happy to wait knowing they're being overhauled to make them more fitting with the game. I'm really looking forward to see what they do with vehicles. I've never really liked them in the mod TBH. Knowing that we'll be able to customise ect means I'm more than happy to wait. -

That will be the case in the next stage as I understand it. ATM it's in very heavy development. The test server is updated many times a day and there's less than 30 peeps (that aren't BIS employees) with access to it ATM I believe.
