Here's a painting of how I imagine a survivor to look. I'm going to paint in a proper background at some point and give the details (like his hands, gun, colour balance ect.) some attention but I've run out of steam for now so I thought I'd post it up.

DayZ Developer blog 26th April, Video from PAX and our latest "building"
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to mattlightfoot's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Well all of that's along way off. The game is going to be in heavy development for a long time and during that time and for (I'd guess) a long time after release there will only be one version to play, the official version. -

In the long-term you're probably right. In the short term the security has to be the most important. -

Blonde is the new brown. -
Maybe it could be something that doesn't happen every time you die. Maybe to keep that instant harshness for the actual player they just go straight to "You are Dead" or whatever they're planning but for other players in the area they get to see your last movements such as curling up into a ball or a final scream, even then it shouldn't be too frequent and could depend on the means of death.

Yup, Rocket said it was a shame (and ironic) but there really is no other way to keep the game from being abused. He did say he'd like to see it modded in the future though so I guess time will tell. -
How to make your own DayZ Action Figure
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to zscope's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Lol. I'd send the head first and tell him he can have the body when the SA's finished. -
I like it! In the mod the nearest thing we have is a screaming player which really adds to the immersion. To see a player in the final throws of death would be cool.

It won't be moddable for a long time. It's a shame but to keep hackers away they need to keep it all locked down. The reason you see flying tanks in the mods is because people have access to all of those files from Arma and scripting them in is VERY easy, in the SA that won't be the case -

Zscope, I love that figure. I was just thinking you could dirty the clothes up a bit, rub some random dirt on the jeans ect. to give it a lived in look. -
The new stash sites look great.

Consolidated Weapons/Equipment suggestions

I will pass on your order. -
If your key did get stolen then it's because you inadvertently installed a key-stealer on your system, they can't just be taken from you. Anyway, we can't help, contact BE, only they can help you, the details are in my sig. Locked.

Theres obviously a communication Issue

Did you actually read my post? It looks like the issue is with your friend, not BE. Can you use the normal font colour too please, it's hard to read otherwise. -
Theres obviously a communication Issue
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to BloodShifta's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Well DayZ is a free mod for Arma so really you should take these concerns to the BIS forums. The reason DayZ devs have no control over global bans is because it's a mod of Arma and Arma uses Battleye. I personally have many friends that play DayZ totaling thousands of hours in-game and not one of them has ever been banned. I would suggest that for your friend to be banned multiple times means that he's doing something wrong either knowingly (hacking) or unknowingly (having a key-stealer on his system). To be falsely banned once is extremely rare, three times suggests the issue is at his end and not BE's. If he got banned the first time by unknowingly having installed a key stealer, then that malware will continue to steal his key's however many times he buys it until he removes it from his system. Keeping your key safe is your responsibility, not the devs. -
Most annoying way you have died in DayZ?
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Evilsausage's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Most annoying for me so far was when I was lying on a building in Berezino lining up a long-shot to avenge my friends death and try to retrieve some of his gear. I'd run all the way there from Cherno just to find him and managed to get my sights on him as he was looting the military tents. I was savouring the moment, just watching him knowing there was know was no way he was going to escape alive and then BAM! I glitched and bounced off the edge of the building to my death. QQ. I rage quit. -

Agreed. If you've only watched vids and not played then you won't feel the same suspense as the player. DayZ has always been (or at least started out as) a fairly slow game. It's not about wall to wall action. When you're walking through the countryside having not seen another player for 2 hours it actually adds to the tension. Knowing you could have a sniper watching you at any time or a player could around the next corner is what adds to the tension. Currently I think the main issues with the mod is that players tend to gather in the same predictable places. Whilst I think that's a good thing because cities ect would likely be where you'd find the most activity it can get predictable. The new areas/structures and points of interest being added to the SA should spread players accross the map a bit more meaning that wherever you are the chance of running into someone is increased. The devs have said that the SA could potentially have many more players on the map but they've also said that they may "spend" these new resources on other things and that they will try to find a balance, they won't just flood the map with players because they can. I personally think 50 - 60 players max for Chernarus would be ideal, I think it's important that the player still feels isolated. -

Standalone clothing system and heroes/bandits?
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Firewarrior64's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hi mate, your English is great BTW. Lot's of details for the SA haven't been disclosed yet but I doubt bandits will have scarves at all. There will be LOTS of different types of clothes to loot eventually so every character will look fairly different. Rocket has talked about people maybe having blood on their hands ect. Maybe the way someone chooses to live will affect their features, really we don't know yet. -
I'll take you up on that bet, what are you willing to bet on it? How about a game on Steam up to the value of £25?
