How about a supermarket or similar, you can be the first man to build the whole of Cherno in (virtual) lego!
-
Lol, well the balance is now restored.
-
Use a satchel charge to make sure though, don't wanna take any chances.
-
This is the best way to do it.

Woot! I shall break the forums. BTW - TOH has a system where you attach crates/cargo ect. to the heli via ropes complete with the proper physics so the engine can definately handle towing, would be good to see in DayZ.

Yup, what he said. Be gentle though.

It's been said many times but I'll say it again. Rockets trip to mount Everest was planned for years before the mod was even made and had many thousands of dollars invested in it. BIS were well aware of the trip when contracts were signed to make the SA. Of course the timing sucks and Rocket has acknowledged but let's stop calling it a "holiday" etc. It's an opportunity most of us will never get and many people plan for years without ever achieving. Nobody's sucking dev balls here, I'm just looking at things for what they are.

Agreed, locked. And just to clarify, Derpy wasn't back-seat moderating when that post was made for he was indeed a moderator so was more than entitled to ask peeps to stay on topic.

I always enjoy hearing info from the devs regarding any of the games I'm following during development, I don't want them to post info just to placate people though. I want them to post when they feel they have something of value to tell us not just for the sake of it. Regarding hype/marketing etc. of course interest has died down. Last summer was mental and the mod broke many records and expectations, it surged to popularity on a wave of hype. It's worth remembering it did that without a penny spent on advertising and not one hint of a marketing campaign. That hype can only last for so long, those of us that love the mod should be happy that because of it's success they have now been given the opportunity to make a full standalone game, that's something Rocket and us could only have dreamed of this time last year. There's a long way to go yet and plenty of time for that hype to build again (if it does, I personally don't care if it does or not but that's just me being selfish) and that will only be achieved if the devs make a solid game offering us something no other game can. Currently it's still in pre-alpha, I can't think of one game ever in the last 20 years that's offered weekly screenshots (if any at all) of a pre-alpha build and I don't see why DayZ should be any different. E3 isn't far off and I'd guess they're holding some stuff back to demo there, much like any other developer.

That's the spirit! Game on!

Oh puurleees. Don't make me dig out your vid of you sitting on a roof cherry-picking harmless players off. It's just a harmless vid. Let's all be friends. Apart from Inception whom I shall smite.

No it doesn't. A game can be deep and have complex systems. As long as those game mechanics remain intuitive and don't become an absolute headache for everyone involved then it's all good. As already said, the greater the challenge presented by a game the more rewarding the experience when something is achieved. Most games now days have such a gentle learning curve they literally hold your hand throughout the whole game, they're just like one long tutorial where you press x or Y at the right points and win the game. The publishers are so scared of alienating a single customer they design an ultimately bland experience. The very reason DayZ became popular is because it offers an alternative the the usual generic shite being churned day after day. Edit - Having just read the thread through, I think we may be being trolled :/

I'm no pheasant, I'm an eagle - soaring through the sky like a rainbow. And I shall pluck you out of your comfort zone like a field mouse and crack you like a walnut on my favourite rock.

How can I download Namalsk WITHOUT DayZ Commander
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to BurningSoap's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Wherever you download it from just be CERTAIN it's from a legit source. In the past "keystealers" have been disguised as map downloads. -
Old thread, redundant now. Locked.

Alright, calm down sugar-tits. There is no darkness but ignorance. Oh yeh, that's right, you were moulded by ignorance, I just adopted it at a later stage.

He shall die a terrible death by my hand. One day, when he least expects it, I shall appear from the shadows like ghost and end him. The end.

These are great. You deserve more beans.

You seem to have missed the whole concept of releasing a game in alpha development with a price that reflects that. Well done you. -
Send him a PM so next time he's on he can hit you up.
-
Lol, maybe give this fella a miss.

I think being involved in any kind of retail is a nightmare but gamers are famously hard to please. Everyone's an expert. -
