    Needs drop shadow It does get a bit painful to a see people tearing into an image that was clearly stated as work-in-progress for a game that is still in pre-alpha whilst completely overlooking how the new funcionality of the inventory will improve gameplay. Don't get me wrong, I think design choices are important along with fonts used but it's a tad early to be tearing Rocket a new one.

    I'll clench my buttocks knowing that the forums will quickly fill up with people that were expecting more or want to QQ because now they'll have to work harder for any gear they want. Then I'll go and play it :P

    Lol, that wasn't aimed at you, and if people wanna discuss it they can, I'm not gonna stop them. I was just pointing out that we have hundreds of threads already dedicated to the subject and it always descends into chaos.

    Yeh, let's try and steer this away from being a purely 1st vs 3rd person topic, we have hundreds of those, it's been discussed to death already and is not the focus of the OP's post.

    I agree, they are going to make the scenario/world as authentic as they can, including the way the infection will be interpreted.. Whether it's realistic or not is open to much more debate.

    I know it's pedantic but using the term "realism" just doesn't work when discussing a game. I know it's based on a sim etc. etc. but I prefer "authentic". As in "is this feature authentic in terms of the fictional scenario they are trying to create?". I know it's only a word but for me it muddies the argument and ends up with the same circular debate about realism such as bloodbags, sniper rifles etc.

    I follow lot's of different games that are being developed. Some have a really nice structured way of releasing regular info, others go quiet for months on end and then hit you with loads of progress (or barely any sometimes). They all have different approaches. My honest opinion is that at this point we should just take it as it comes (yes, Rocket messed up and should never have mentioned a weekly blog). Once the initial alpha build is released and people have paid money and are playing then I'd be dissapointed if we didn't see a more structured and frequent way of keeping us all informed because at that point we will be customers of their product and will be entitled to be kept in the loop. Arma 3 alpha is doing really well at keeping everyone informed of what to expect and what they're up to, I'd like to see DayZ SA follow the same path.

    The dev team are providing lot's more info than any other game I've ever seen developed in my life. I'm kiddin, we could always do with more, and more, and more.

    Read my sig, contact Battleye, ask your "friend" to buy you a new game. Bans have nothing to do with us. Your game key is your responsibility to keep safe, you failed to do that. Locked.

    Did anyone catch the Release date?

    There is no release date. Keep an eye on the forums. Any release dates you do hear will be pure speculation. The game is currently in closed testing, they have achieved a major goal recently which is to complete the new server/client architecture which will improve the game in many ways, fundamentally it will make hacking extremely difficult. Now that has been sorted we should see progress moving along nicely.

    ^This. This would solve so many issues such as ghosting etc. If every character was tied to a server in the way they are with private hives now I would be a happy chappy. I like being able to move servers to trade etc but the cons outwiegh the pro's for me.

    There is none ATM. I'd imagine the new disease elements will come later. Remember it's being released in an alpha state and will probably be in development for many months afterwards.

    Hero-Bandit system gone in SA?

    Yeh, I'm not being harsh I've just seen so much random stuff posted about the SA as if it's fact. It confuses people. Before you know it, one comment get's quoted as fact and then as far as people are concerned it's true, even if nothing of the sort has been discussed.

    This forum will transition into the SA forum. Currently there's no SA though so it's a tad early to do that yet. I'd imagine it will coincide with the release. Really I don't know though.
