Well, the burden of the Golden AKS was to great. I did the honourable thing. I placed it in the road, made loads of noise with my pistol and ran away. Will be interesting to see if someone finds it or if that is the end of it. Now to find that pearl encrusted Uzi...

It's not an ideal solution but a short timer would help in some situations so it's a start until there's a better solution.

All you can do is try and log out in a really safe location if you've got good gear.

I think the time is realistic for a soldier with a heavy gun and a full backpack. That's what the original animation and timing were set for. I agree it can seem a little harsh if your just carrying a torch though. It would be interesting if you were slightly less agile if you had lot's of equipment.

I think just a 10 - 20 second log-out timer is all that's needed initially. It's short enough not to be a nuisance and long enough to stop someone disconnecting while your shooting them in the face.

I think you may be right, I also think that is what makes the game so unique. I can go days without encountering another player out in the wilds. But when I decide to venture into a high traffic area (Cities ect.) I know I'm gonna have to get prepared and bring my A-game to survive the Bandits purely going for kills. For me, it's one of the things I love about the game and I think the reason it appeals to so many people. Disconnecting to avoid death really does piss me off though. I think the only real solution is a timer. If you choose to disconnect then maybe you should be forced to wait 10 seconds or so (maybe more). It would really balance things out. Also (I'm not sure if it's possible) maybe a short time needs to pass before you can log back in to discourage sever hopping, I'm not sure how feasable this is though. It's no coincidence that the people I see diconnecting to avoid my gunfire are also the people with good gear that genarally were camped somewhere and attacked me first.

Yup, that's what I thought. I was thinking about signs/messages the other day but I'm pretty sure the map would get quickly ruined. Maybe being able to attach a note to your tent could be interesting though?

Firstly, I didn't say more powerful items. I said RARE/UNIQUE. It could be something as simple as a rare skin for a gun or clothing item, maybe with a small logo or something. It's gonna make it even harder to trust people though. Also, gotta get a tent first! I'm open for a fair trade though....

I thought it was strange, it just appeared when I was changing weapons. Thx for the heads up. Now I'm just paranoid it'll dissapear if I change servers.
