That's a good point. You have to learn to survive before you can think about being a decent bandit. P.S - Shooting everyone you see is not being a bandit.
-
Oh no, not that debate again.

If you mean to free look then hold LEFT_ALT to move your head while maintaining your original direction. Perfect for scanning treelines while on the move.

Is it impossible for Players to help you?
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Kiecsii's topic in New Player Discussion
That's what he means, you've missed the point. -
Not yet. I found a SAW today though, it's pretty brutal.
-
I made a thread a while ago about gun degredation. It worked really well in STALKER and a few other games.

Anyone else fount these?
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Mays (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's a hacked in ammo crate. -
I find it becomes much more fun when you head north. Better loot, better players = good times!
-
You need to go and find some guides to help with the basics. Just do a simple Google and you'll find hundreds.

You sound like a natural. Enjoy.

Is it usually a pain in the ass to get in a server?
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to jonesy96's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I had some trouble earlier too. I found it much quicker going via the Multiplayer menu within Arma. -
Only Direct chat is enabled at the moment. It means you can talk to people within 40 metres or so (not sure of the exact range).
-
Just run armour and then use the armoury to practice. If you play the actual game you can unlock more weapons for the armoury.
-
The posts also appear on the feed on the main page. It's also a good place to gather information so I can continue hunting you all down.
-
It should be a living hell.
-
My first tip would be to not be so submissive. You'll die very quickly. As a Bandit killer I look forward to meeting you in the future. Good luck.
-
Epic tale bro.
-
Stick it on a dead Zed and bury him. Unlucky. I had to do that with my golden AKS.
-
Cover the door and sit it out. Make contact if you want. Or you could take a deep breath, leave the church and start picking them off with your M4. Have fun.

Server suddenly stopped working
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Zoop's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Which server. I ask because I've just been having issues connecting to my usual server. -
Err, so when I killed 5 guys the other day in an ambush at Zub castle, I get punished for defending myself? I'm not sure you've really thought this through have you?
-
Maybe a tad over the top, no? In Arma, those things are bloody brutal.
-
Why do you people do these things?
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Inception.'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You'll never find the answer to this. -
What do you do when you see another player?
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to theg481's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I generally observe and track if possible. It quickly becomes obvious if they are bandits or not. If they are they get a bullet in the back of the head, if not, I try and make contact sometimes, or help them. -
Shotgun ammo and interface questions for a newb
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to SparkPlugg's topic in New Player Discussion
1. Roll your middle mouse button to bring up the option to switch ammo. 2. Rolling your mouse is context sensitive. You can use it to open doors and so on. So if you only have one weapon, you won't see the option to swap. 3.You need painkillers. 4.Just ignore it. Hope this helps! P.s - Most servers don't use the name tags and distances you mentioned, and some only use first person view. If you've got any more questions fire away.
