In that case accept my appologies, I guess I thought you had more experience because you had 40+ posts. Firstly, I suggest just avoiding the area while you learn the game. It's a big map with other cities and towns. Berizino on the east coast is much safer and has everything you need there (2 x Supermarkets/ 1 x Hospital/ 1 x Military-camp/ 2 x deerstands) Secondly, see it as a challenge. Once you get more confident, set yourself up in a decent position on the edge of town and just watch and listen. It won't take long to figure out where he is. Then it's a case of tactics. You basically want to make his life a misery so you could just Snipe him every time he's there. You probably won't even need a decent sniper rifle if you can get within 700m or so. An M16, Lee Enfield and a few other gun's will do the trick. If you don't fancy that approach you could just frag him if you can get some grenades. Alternatively, start a thread called "Server ###, problem sniper, please help!" and watch the offers come rolling in of people willing to help. If he continues to be a problem, I'd be happy to come and deal with him for you and I'm sure many others will to. Have fun!

If he's been in the same place for at least 3 day's you really shouldn't need a whole squad to go and deal with him. Jesus, just go and kill him.

Yes you will. Although you bought Arma to play Day Z it's actually a free mod that was only originally intended to be run on a couple of servers. When they release the standalone it will have much more content, be on a new engine and be a more complete experience. This is just the testing phase for that game.

I'd personally not like to be targeted because players know I'm carrying morphine ect. It would be nice to have some customisation though and I'm sure that's on the way in the standalone.

The initial hype has died down a bit. School is back in so obviously the kids won't be playing as much and since the Standalone announcement many people have probably decided to wait for that. The amount of unique players is still rising so new people are still trying it out. It's to be expected to be honest. Oh yeah, and a lot of people are fed up with the hacking too.

Some people won't accept your offer unless your Whitelisted but many will. Just tell them your an aspiring medic or even better put it on your signature. I enjoy it because there's no commitment, it's completely voluntary. With that in mind, you'll also get some people that get very demanding as if they've paid for your services. I tell them to piss off. Sometimes I travel with a spotter/sniper which makes it much safer but I still often travel alone too. I've made a couple of good friends by doing it and also been in some of the most tense firefights I've had while on mission. Basically, it's good fun.

I did a search and didn't see anyhthing realted specifically to this so apologies if it's already done the rounds. I see a lot of posts wanting to make military weapons rarer or civilian stuff more common and so on. I'd like a system to be implemented where your boom-stick has a percentage value attached for it's condition. As it degrades it becomes less reliable/jams ect. It worked really well in STALKER and a few other games and I think it could add to this one. Discuss. If a weapon degraded with use, then it may have the nice effect of making people a bit less trigger happy. Also of course there would be ways of maintaining your weapon, maybe needing a toolbox/oil spare parts and so on...

Always use the Wasteland thread to pick up patients, there's less chance of being shot. Also, set up a few individual tents across the map. Fill them with medical gear. It's pretty low risk because if someone finds them they're most likely to just take a few bits and not really clear you out. Also, use the hospital in Berizino to get your supplies, it's by far the safest hospital to raid. Good luck.

I've been taking morphine based painkillers for a month or so due to a shoulder injury with the only side-effect being that I want to hug everyone. Rocket has recently talked about being able to craft splints and so on but it's pure speculation at the moment.

I personally loved Arma2 as a game. It has it's issues but if you like military sims it's one of the best out there. For your money you also get access to DayZ and loads of other mods too. Some of them are of a very professional standard. If money's tight and you don't want to make multiple puchases then it might be worth your while just waiting for Arma 3 and the DayZ standalone and then taking your pick. Also, the Arma 3 engine should be much better optimised so if you can run Arma2 then you shouldn't have many issues running Arma3 or the DayZ standalone.

It sounds like they've just updated their server. I think they need to adjust the settings server side after an update to remove player tags again ect. If you like using it as a home server I would wait to see if it get's fixed, it can take ages to find a good server.
