I guess it's a choice between range and recoil. I just checked the wiki out of interest and noticed that the MK 48 is only listed as having an effective range of 400m. It used to say 600m which sounds more like my experience with the gun.

Wow, this threads still going? Well, I was pretty grumpy last night and was probably being a tad defensive. My honest opinion (now that I've had some sleep) is that many people expect way too much from this mod and the devs sometimes. I think that's why people like me get pissed off when all we see is a contant stream of whining posts. I understand the OP's point of view though. That update from the devs could have been clearer and probably deserved it's own thread or at least could have been posted somewhere that would've drawn more attention.

Nice tips. I heard that dropping the graphics settings can actually negatively effect performance because it takes the pressure off of your CPU and dumps it onto your graphics card (I think).

I love that gun. The only thing I'm not too keen on is that the ACOG sight is locked at x4 zoom which I found a tad restrictive with anything nearer than 300m (ish). I think all shotguns are generally underrated, especially that one. You'll love it. It's like the SAW on steroids but with much better accuracy and power. It also has twice the effective range. Good call. At night, I think it's one of the best. A guy I play with has used nothing else apart from the Bizon for the last 6 weeks. He swears by it. It's nice to see the trusty AKM getting some deserved attention too. I might start a thread about overrated weapons, it's pretty interesting seeing what people think about them.

It depends what mood I'm in. I love skulking about in the dark at the moment. It's slightly off topic but I'm looking forward to NVG's becoming super rare again. I used to love it when people were forced to use flaeres/torches and so on.

Don't take it personally and I apologise if my first post seemed a little harsh. I understand your frustration, I play DayZ too. The problem is that for at least a week, literally every other thread has had the same title as yours. Every poster wants to start their own debate or vent on the same topic and instead of adding to other posts they start a "new" thread. I'm not brushing the issue under the carpet or disagreeing with you it's just that these countless threads are clogging up the forum.
