Arma 2 Free better performance?

I can officially confirm that you will. My brother used the free version for a bit and noticed a bit of a performance drop when he upgraded. Like Mr Russian said, there's less rendering to do with the lower textures of the free version. -

Do we actually need those statistics? Statistics can be used and mis-quoted to argue almost any position (or just made up, you know who you are...), as we've seen above. I personally really don't care. The simple fact is that if the end result is a great standalone then it will sell well and we'll all be happy bunnies. This phase will become a distant memory. If they cock it up it won't sell and us hipsters will be left trolling each other here and arguing about what went wrong. -
Dayz and high res player skin/models

If you don't have the PMC add-on then you will have a low resolution texture for some things like the image above. Installing the add-on means that any objects used by DayZ (model above, a vehicle or two, some other bit and bobs) will be able to use the higher resolution graphics from said add-on. Edit - looks like you've just cracked it! -

Hey OP: How does it feel to be so ill informed you feel the need to create a thread regarding topics discussed at length by Rocket himself as recently as last night? Also, why's this in cheat reporting? *Thread locked. @ KeyboardcatSS. Rocket has fully supported the private servers and recommends that as the way forward for the mod. Go and do some reading, you'll feel better for it. -

I don't think her (the Queen's) immune system will cope well with the infection rendering her opinion invalid. I may even adopt her corgi's and feed her swans to them. Now that's emergent gameplay right there.

Lol, thx Hetstaine, but I think I'm already running the risk of pissing Rocket off with my pointless posts. That said, eating swan's would be "authentic" and tasty, and it would give my dog a glossy coat. It's a win-win and I'm surprised it's not been addressed yet.

Actually, as it stands radios aren't legit, although they are harmless. They were a super rare spawn at one point I think so with that in mind you could say some may be legit rendering my whole post pointless.

To complete the set and have all models in high res you need the PMC and BAF add-ons. That upgrades many textures. I got bloody ninja'd by Rocket. And he made my answer look stupid :( -

You'll be surprised. There's actually many groups willing to help out noobs, one is specifically set up to do so. It's called TMW (Trusted Mentors of the Wasteland), they're a spin-off of the Medics clan. Also, while your getting to grips with the controls (which can be a nightmare at first) try some of the Arma tutorials. You can practice basic movement, shooting and even skydiving. All without the risk of starving to death. -

Actually, it could help a lot. Greece in is the shit as it is at the moment and has been bailed out financially by many European countries. The last thing they need is more bad publicity. Also, a petition adds weight to their case if they go to court. It's highly unlikely that spies would be able to get thousands of people from a gaming community to vouch for them. Pressure from large groups/communities has helped people in this kind of situation before. In November 2002 13 "plane spotters" successfully overturned their convictions in Greece after being accused of exactly the same thing. -
Your right but believe it or not there's still some people out there that don't know where to find these thing's. Also, someone could have a look and then get sucked in.
