Trying my best to not stop playing this mod. but its making me.
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Viaticus's topic in New Player Discussion
Yup, me and a friend got fully geared the other day, loaded up our pick-up and then drove into Cherno for a suicide mission. We lasted about 10 mins and Cherno was even more dangerous after that for quite a while. We wanted to start fresh just for fun. It was so much fun I might put a thread up next time to advertise when and where we're going to do it. It'll be a blood bath! -
I'm not sure it will be necessary (if it's the standalone we're talking about?) There's going to be (hopefully) ways of identifying clans/groups via armbands and so on. Also, groups will be able to build underground bases. In fact Rocket has said that it will be very hard to do as an individual. This will provide clans with the area they need for storing things and so on and the bases will be persistent, meaning that you will effectivly be able to fight over a base and then claim it as your own. Details of how you will be able to defend these bases are sketchy but I've seen talk of traps and so on. No need for magic barriers.

Have you tried posting on the Wastland thread? There's usually some Medics waiting in there. -

Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Viaticus's topic in New Player Discussion
To enjoy the mod as it stands you will need to get used to dying. Sometimes from pvp, other times it will be from bugs or hackers. It's a frustrating game with a steep learning curve. The standalone will be a lot more user friendly although according to Rocket it will be even harder than it is now but with better balance and less chance of dying from random events. It's your call really. I'm not going to tell you that you should enjoy it for reasons A,B or C. The simple fact is it's not for everyone. P.S - There's some good advice above for finding a server that suits you. -
Your mis-quoting Poisonman, he was referring to the user above, not me.

[admins/mods] please delete all topics concerning hacking/scripting
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
To get back to the OP which was about hacking threads not the hacking itself, essentially I agree with him/her. I've locked (not deleted or hidden, which is important to note) more threads on the subject than I care to remember. I have an inbox full of hate mail and WarZ bollocks to prove it. I've also been accused many times of censorship or trying to brush the problem under the carpet. Multiple threads on the same subject achieve nothing. They dilute the subject entirely and get lost in the mass of posts. This means it's highly unlikely that a dev will take the time to trawl through those posts. It would carry much more weight as a subject if there were a few good threads with hundreds of responses on them. This would draw much more attention from either new players or the devs who read the forums frequently. This applies to any topic. That's why we always suggest adding to threads on any given subject or doing a quick search before opening a new thread. It makes the forums a lot easier to navigate and concentrates discussion in the correct way which is in everyone's interests. -

I don't really use this thread much, I rely on PM's. I haven't had one for 4 days! -
How long do you live in your first lives?

Jesus, how do you manage to troll a happy thread like this? That figure your quoting was heavily skewed by people spamming the respawn button. -
How long do you live in your first lives?
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Lewf's topic in New Player Discussion
I spawned near Kamenka. I'd just been watching some vids so I had a vague idea what I was doing. I basically spent at least an hour crawling around on my front trying to enter buildings in the area. Then I spent a while trying to harvest some pumpkins and pick up an axe, the ones stuck into the wood that you can't collect. A player ran up to me and then I realised I didn't know which channel to speak on. While I was trying to figure it out I aggro'd the whole village and after a VERY long run north I tried some fancy footwork to lose the zeds. I failed and was eaten alive. Happy day's! -
My last trip to Cherno was pretty cool. I was on TS with a guy I'd only just met and we realised we didn't have any meds so decided to head to the hospital. There was 40+ people on the server so it was always going to be a tad hairy. To cut a long story short we made it in and out without too much trouble. We did shoot one poor guy though. We called friendly and he just stared blankly at us, then the guy I was with just shot him. We then realised he was trying to type something in the chat bar :(.. Oh well, we tried I guess. Sula, mybe next time you say hello to a guy, try it without pointing a gun at him, that goes for real life too. We tend to get a bit nervous.

So, as I said in my first post with the link to that page, when the thread is unlocked (he has a few more questions to answer first) put in a question yourself, ask him to be more specific if that's what you want. Ask him the excact same question you were asking on here, that's why I posted the link in the first place. I was actually trying to help you by letting you know the thread is there. I'm not sure what else I can do for you.
-
One post above yours I left a link with over 100 hundred answers about the future of DayZ. Have a read and while your doing that I'll find the link where he was discussing the hacking issue. Edit - Here's one: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/92188-players-in-24h-count/ I'm about to log off for a bit, I'll add some more a bit later. Have fun.

Get well soon.

How about you stop being so lazy and ask him yourself. He's addressed this at length on this forum just last night. I guess you want me to run a quick search for you and give you the link too. Is your secretary on holiday?
-
Go and read the Q&A thread. Rockets been on there answering questions like this since last night. He addresses the melee system and everything else about the standalone.

I guess it's a virus that only affects humans. The standalone will have a lot more details about the virus. Rockets brother is a virologist and is working with him on the project.

Deffinition of a nightmare
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Michaelvoodoo25's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
My nightmare: Standalone is released and we need to collect gold coins to pay for perks. Also we'll then need to grind our way through various skill trees to be able to achieve anything significant. (all of this has been discussed and is NOT happening BTW) -
For those who may have missed it, Rocket has been answering the questions asked buy you guy's and girls on this thread: http://dayzmod.com/f...d/page__st__300 He's been working through the list one question at a time since last night and only has a few left to answer. For anyone interested in the future of DayZ it's a must read. Many of the questions that appear daily on the forum have been addressed and it provides an interesting insight as to what we can expect from the standalone. There's 150 questions (ish) for him to answer and then the thread will be unlocked so that you (and me) can continue to post any questions we have about anything DayZ related. Enjoy.

Rocket Provides Some Answers
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Fraggle (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
Then hold tight! Max will unlock the thread when Rocket has finished answering the current questions and then you'll be able to post yours. Keep an eye on it because I think he's nearly done. -
Again, I highly recommend anyone who is interested in the future of DayZ takes a look here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/38476-the-one-line-questions-for-rocket-thread/ There's answers to many of the questions you guy's are asking and when we unlock the thread you can post some more. Rocket's nearly finished answering the questions posted so far, so get thinking of anything else not already covered that you might want him to answer.

Rocket Provides Some Answers
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to Fraggle (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
Good stuff, it's a great idea. It'll make life much easier for everyone to get an idea of what the future holds without having to check multiple interviews or websites. Now we just need to get Rocket to add to your limerick thread and we can all put our feet up and have a cigar (actually, I might save the cigar for when the standalone is complete). -

I personally like to leave well written threads open for as long as possible because it's important that everyone can voice their opinion... We are dong our best. There's also spambots and reports do deal with There's only so much we can do between a few of us at once. Crappy one line spam posts are a pain in the ass though and we get to them eventually. -
Thread locked. Everyone including the devs are well aware of the problem and it was discussed at length on this very forum by Rocket himself last night. If you think nothing is being done then I suggest some light reading. The search button is your friend.
