Ok, tldr. The devs have already ruled out players becoming zeds because they don't want players ruining the immersion by running around as Zeds acting like twats. Not reading others posts on the subject before making a suggestion is lazy...;)

Dayz Standalone should go exclusively Private Hive with name plates.

Arma CO is Arma 2 and Arma OA combined. Once you have installed CO that's all you need to play.

Map Markers on Veteran

I thought the one of the reasons it's called veteran is that it doesn't have the magic map, meaning players need to learn how to map read, thus making it veteran. -
If you haven't played for a while why not start fresh on a new map. I've been playing on Namalsk the last few days and it's great. It freshens up the whole experience.

YES! If it's the only thing you do, spend time finding a good private hive with active admins. Check the private hive area of the forum's and find one that looks like it has a good community. It'll improve your DayZ experience ten-fold. -

Good luck mate! Just remember, it's the PVP aspect that creates the tension. That doesn't mean everyone is hostile but it does mean you have to stay aware at all times. -
Just as a heads up, begging, or at least wanting things for free never really goes down well in the tough world of DayZ. People usually like to see that you've at least made some effort and have something to trade.

I also hate the "girl gamer - Look I've got tits!" attitiude. I know plenty of girl gamers and they're just chilled gamers like me. I don't think girls like Daisy do anything at all for girls/women in general, let alone girl gamers. It looks like even on her Twitch she's using sexual innuendo to attract viewers: "Always getting turned on!". Yup, Tits = profit. Bore off Daisy. BTW, there's a good chance that the Daisy in the vid and the Daisy in the Twitch stream are different Daisy's. That means we now have two really annoying Daisy's roaming Cherno. -

I didn't abandon any. I play different games depending on my mood. Recently I've been enjoying Dishonoured. -
I'm not the most knowledgable but I can answer one question. Rifles come in many variations so it can be confusing. The name actually comes form the "rifling" of the barrel which is spiral grooves carved into the bore to makes the bullet spin to stop it tumbling through the air. Usually a rifle is a single shot weapon fired from the shoulder.

I think that can mean the server hasn't been re-started for ages. Is it a server with active admins? If not that might be the issue. -
