Me too. Have you tried playing on a well run Private Hive yet, it really helps sort out the hackers. If you find a good one you'll very rarely see hackers at all.

Noooo!!!!! No fast travel! I love the idea of how massive it is and the fact you'd really have to plan ahead if you wanted to make an epic journey from north to south. You could live a whole life without ever seeing certain areas.

^party pooper. Each map could be loaded speratly maybe as it's own instance. For example, to travel too the mainland from Namalsk you'd need a boat. During the trip there'd be a brief load time and "Bam" you're on your way. It'd make boats and helis even more desirable and it'd only be a matter of time before people start to set up a service for transport.

The Zombies act strangely because they're using modded soldier AI so it all ends up being a bit weird. I prefer it now they've removed starting weapons. If I had my way you'd spawn in wearing socks and nothing else. Sexy!

When 3 weeks of hoarding and building up an epic camp was ruined by a clan with a heli (that'll teach me for hoarding :( ). That was a long time ago, now day's I travel light and only take what I need. -
You could password your server. Make a forum and only people that register will have password access. That'll weed out most of them. Also use the Community Ban List as thisll stop any known hackers being able to log in at all. Run Antihax or similar too. The well established private hive use many measures to deal with hackers and have active and knowledgable admins. The ones that don't are just as bad as the public servers. It sounds like a pain in the ass but that's the "admin" part I guess.

I turned it off on day one. I quite like the ambient sounds and I like being able to listen out for distant noises.

Nope, no facts, it will have some new areas though. I've had a break from playing DayZ at all for the last couple of weeks. Having spent months playing it to death I don't want to get sick of it. When the standalone becomes available I want to jump back in and enjoy it like a noob. Plus I've been playing some other pretty good games recently. I'll be following the mod and all the different iterations of it carefully while I'm playing the SA though. It's only a matter of time before some of the talented modders come up with an absolute corker that I won't be able to resist. -
Of course it's very likely that the OP wanted to try something that isn't legit. But hackers also take advantage of people that don't have much knowledge of PC gaming or PC security in general. Sometimes we have to give people the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully others will read this thread and it may help a couple of people avoid being tricked.

Have you been downloading any software lately? Your CD-key can't just be "taken" from you, you need to allow a programme to do so.

I'm not here to tell you to buy the game again, it makes no difference to me, I'm just telling you how it is. It's your responsibility to keep your key safe. It can't just be taken from you whilst playing on a server, it's simply impossible. It can only be taken buy you allowing it to happen, knowingly or unknowingly. The most common way it happens is buy downloading software from less than reputable sites. -

The problem with "compilations is that it's hard to discuss so many ideas in one thread. I always prefer it when one idea can be picked apart. Most of your ideas are being dealt with already as the issues you've raised are a side effect of this being a mod. Nice effort though, better than anything I've ever come up with. -

They're bored teenagers that used their parents card details to get some copy/pasted script from a dodgy site. I think they do it because they can't enjoy the game as intended and don't understand why the rest of us do.
