Yes. I used to play on a private hive that had three servers running off of it, no idea how they done it though. They shut it down eventually because of the usual loot farming/ghosting rubbish though.

I played solo for a couple of months so I feel your pain. i play mostly in groups now but TBH I still enjoy going solo the most, for some reason i actually find it easier on my own. I like the peace and quiet too :)

^^that's a good call. If you're having the issue after you've been playing for a bit then it could definately be overheating. Before you try anything else just get some compressed air and clean out the dust from inside your rig. Make sure the fans are clean and and all of the vents too. I had a similar issue once (different symptoms though) and a quick clean fixed everything. P.S - dont be tempted to use a hoover, it'll end in tears.

That's exactly what I'm using so the it shouldn't be an issue at all. The settings you can run the game at depend a LOT on your processor and other things though, the key is to have a well balanced rig.

The bast place to find matches is the supermarkets, they are hard to find though and it's sods law that when you really need them you won't be able to find them. If you really can't find them you can use the burning oil barrels in towns, risky but it works if you're desperate. Regarding nights, some are darker than others. DayZ has a real lunar cycle, you can even navigate using the stars if you know how (not that anyone does :/ ) . If you get a night with a full moon it's much more bearable. The one good thing about nights is that the zeds have more trouble detecting you so you can run around looting without getting eaten so much, if you find NVG's then you can really enjoy the dark nights :)

Sorry to hear you're having issues. Well done on giving us loads of details though. There's lot's of people here with much better technical know-how than me so if you hold tight I'm sure someone will be able to get you up and running. One last thing that may help is your PC specs.

Not really. They're supported by BIS now so don't need donations. When they were just a couple of guys working on the mod they always refused any financial help. The best thing you can do is the same as for any game. When it's released, read up on it and if you like what you see then buy it!

I use a 5.1 set-up when playing DayZ and it works well. It's made me duck a few times and the thunder makes my dog hide under the bed so no complaints from me.

Merry. Xmas. Don't worry, it's supposed to be hard and frustrating. That's why some call it an anti-game. Also, it's far from perfect, that's why they're making the SA. Learning where to find what you need is kind of the point of the game. You never have to go to the cities. It's a VERY big map and you can get what you need without visiting the populated areas. If you do try and brave the big cities then keep your head down, move quickly and get in and out as fast as you can.

I love those mods and would like to see elements of them in the SA.
