Agreed, my friend thought DayZ and WarZ were the same game. He also thinks DayZ is the game of the WarZ film, but he is a tad slow. It's a shame that WarZ has been allowed to impact the DayZ development at all but the facts are simple, DayZ needs to distinguish itself from WarZ in the eyes of the casual gamer, that's impossible when every gaming site has a WarZ related story on it calling them scammers or just plain shite developers.

    DayZ with Crafting-System

I've just been playing FC3 too, great game. Don't worry, there will be crafting elements in DayZ SA, potentially including customisable vehicles too.

I said earlier that one thing most of us have in common is that we all want to see DayZ succeed. It's already broken several moulds in the gaming industry and hopefully it will continue to do so. It does this by having a very clear vision and sticking to it, sometimes in the face of much criticism. I'm just glad we're all passionate about it, better than apathy any day of the week.

Sorry if I offended you, it's just my personal opinion, not trolling. It's not so much your opinion that annoys me, it's more your arrogance and skewed way of looking at things that annoys me. The longer middle management double-talk can be kept away from the progress of DayZ the better, it's always been a personal bug-bear of mine. I won't even address your WarZ references because they're laughable at best. Please try not to insult me, I'm very sensitive.

    DayZ Standalone Discussion

Please don't try and tell the devs/BIS what to do. So far they've created one of the most hyped brands this year, created a new gaming genre, built a solid playerbase and are preparing to back that up with a solid game release. There are many factors and variables they have to deal with, WarZ is/was just one of many. Just to remind you all of this has been done without a penny spent on advertising. DayZ has done this well so far because of Rocket's unorthodox approach to game development and his ability to stick to his initial vision. There's one thing above all that could bugger this whole thing up right now and that would be Rocket listening to business/PR management waffle like yours. It's easy to talk rubbish like that, especially if you aren't privvy to all of the info. Your management speak sounds like the sort of thing that get's other games into trouble. I think I'll stick with BIS on this one, cheers.
  9. I'd use DayZCommander. it's got a much better UI and you can fav servers or filter them much more easily. It'll keep your game up to date too :)

    Creating Custom Loadout for donors????

So is that pay to win? People buying in-game gear?
  11. Sorry mate but it with that info it could be any of the hundreds of US servers. Next time, use DayZCommander and fav it, or go old skool and use a pen and paper to keep note of where you're playing.

    For that I was banned?

Did you hack or run any dodgy scripts?
  13. Yup, @Sheep - Go and check the forum rules please, you can bump once a day, no more. If you need to keep the thread active then the best way is to get peeps that use your server talking about it here. TBH, constant bumping just put's people off, hence, your empty server. Make some usefull posts telling peeps about the server if you want to advertise. I know how hard it is, I have to do the same. let me know when you've read this and I'll delete it if you want.

Errr, it's probably best to find an existing server that you like. It costs money to open a server and takes a lot of effort and time to admin one. Try looking through the "private Hive" section of the forum to find something that suits you or search using DayZCommander.

Google translate FTW! I'd love an update too, we all would. For all of our differing views we basically want the same thing, a great game to be released and some news from the devs. It's pretty rare for Rocket to be so quiet so we have to assume he has very good reason to be and let him get on with it. His track record for communicating with us is better than most other devs I can think of. For the last 6 months at least he's been VERY open about all of the decisions they've made and it's one of the reasons people here have a lot of respect for him. A bit of whining is to be expected so don't be too harsh on the peeps that want news right now, I agree they're not entitled to anything but the very fact they're desperate for news means they care, I'd choose that over apathy any day. One thing that has really impressed me over the last couple of weeks is how patient people are on the whole. Most of us understand the bigger goal and are happy to wait for things to be done properly. It's this patience that marks us out as one of the better gaming communities and the end result of that will be a truly great game that we can all be proud to have been a part of during it's development process.
  17. Also, if I'm going into a dangerous area for some looting, I just hide what I don't need to risk in a campfire. That way i can come back in half an hour and grab my meds and rare stuff. Hasn't failed me yet.
  18. If I have a gunfight (usually it's not started by me) and I win I take what I need and then always bury the body. My aim is to set them back as far as I can. I don't want them running back to their body, gearing up and causing me problems later, also, you can't be sure that they don't have friends so if I have decent gear I may camp the area for a bit too in the hope of taking them out as well. My aim is to make them regret opening fire in the first place. If I have a shootout in Cherno or Electro and it turns out the guy was a fairly fresh spawn and was just taking pot-shots I just leave the body and move on.

    Kinda scared of this game

I think it's best to learn alone for a bit, also, if you're struggling with some of the basics don't forget the Arma tutorials, they can help you practice many things in a slightly lass hostile environment. In the long run though running with a group can be more fun and have advantages, it really depends on your playstyle, I still do both.

    Kinda scared of this game

It's a very nervy game, especially when you're new. That's one of the reasons it became so popular early on, there's not many games that give you sweaty palm and make you feel guilty/excited if you have to kill someone. Just stick at it and before long you'll hardcore.

Take On Helicopters (DayZ SA) flying adjustments!

I agree too. I wouldn't want a full on flight sim like TOH but some of the elements from it. Basically I'd like a level of difficulty that means you can't just hop in and fly without having ever played DayZ or Arma before and having not read or trained at all. it should require practice and skill. In my opinion it's things like this that will separate DayZ from the copy-cat games in the future.
  24. Still, the clue is in the word "rare". There's never a guarantee of finding rare loot, hence the fact that it becomes "rare". Regarding the server kick, ignore it unless it becomes an issue, it's the admins antihax tools messing around.

    Learning Curve...

Don't panic, it's supposed to be brutally hard and annoying. It makes it all the sweeter when you achieve something.
