Private hive admins have many more tools available to them (3rd party software). Also, it is entirely up to them who they allow to play there and who they ban. In the hands of a bad admin that can be a nightmare but there's many good admins that know how to use the tools properly and who's only interest is running a good fun server for other players. The key is finding the ones run by good admins. -
I think that's basically what a lot of the anti-hax software many private server owners use does. Hence private servers having many less problems with hackers. The issue is though that hackers will pick the code apart and then figure out a workaround, so the antihax software has to keep developing to stay ahead of the hackers. Essentially the issue is Arma itself, it was never supposed to be used in the way DayZ uses it, that's why the SA is able to address these issues with much less effort than trying to bend the mod to their will.

I guess you can't have it all. You can either have an innovative dev that speaks from the heart and gets it wrong sometimes or you can have a silver-tongued dev that knows exactly what to say but ultimately dissapoints everyone. Or there's the 3rd type that just fucks everything up but still won't quit (not mentioning any names, you know who you are). -

Shooting fresh spawns is a separate debate IMO. It also seems pretty rare. If it becomes an issue on a server then an admin is within his rights to pull the fresh spawn killer to one side and tell him to chill out, I know because I've done it myself. -

So just out of interest, do you spawn weapons in for the rest of your team too? Edit - I'm not looking for an argument, just interested to see how some admins justify this.

I've never been killed as a fresh spawn either and neither have most of the guy's/girls I play with so it seems like a problem that doesn't need solving. Obviously Cherno/Electro are always going to be hotspots for PVP and IMO you should adapt your gameplay to deal with this, that's part of learning to survive. If you notice a player on a server camping a specific area then go and deal with him or avoid the area, it really is as simple as that. -
There's no point him wasting BE's time. He's been banned for hacking, it won't be reversed. Locked.

If you find a good private server with good admins then hackers won't be a problem.

If you chose to buy Arma to play the free mod DayZ then that is your choice. It doesn't change the fact that what you have purchased is Arma, a fully released game. That is just a fact and cannot be disputed.

You're very wrong. To play DayZ you need to buy Arma. When you make your purchase you have bought Arma and have a fully released game (Arma). DayZ is a free mod for that game that has never advertised or asked for money. If you have decided that you want to play DayZ based on feedback from the gaming industry and or Youtube vids then that is up to you. It doesn't change the fact that what you have purchased is Arma, not DayZ. -
This is a free mod for Arma, you have not paid for DayZ, you bought Arma. Nobody here is washing their hands here of responsibility it is just a simple fact that we (mods) or the DayZ devs have no control over BE banning people from Arma. Your post would be better placed on the BIS forums. For whatever reason, BE have banned your ARMA key resulting in you not being able to play this free mod.
