It's the editable and trusting nature of Arma that has led to all of the hacking/scripting issues in the mod, so no, it'll be locked down tight I'm afraid. -

You can't get a global ban by pressing "shift-P". I know because I've tried it. You can however get banned if pressing "shift-P" is the keyboard shortcut to open your hacks. Unlucky, you got caught. If you want to dispute it, contact Battleye. Locked. -

Maybe I misunderstood then. I thought he meant the beeping signals given by the internal speaker on startup, not a software driven noise via external speakers. -

Yeh, that puts some off but you can just sit on your own in AFK and be left in peace. It's just a good system for monitoring who's on the servers, hackers stick out like a sore thumb. It just means you can quickly massage an admin if you have any issues or vice-versa. Why's no-one told me how sexy my new sig is yet? Maybe I'll make a sexier one. -

You can actually look up that beeping on startup, it's a code. As well as doing what Smash said you need to run a full virus scan before you attempt to connect again, it sounds like you have something malicious installed. -
Yup, just grab yourself an Rcon tool, it's very quick and easy. There's some download links on the BIS forums and Armaholic, or just Google the 2 Mayu suggested^^

Why don't you PM Matt if you feel you've been overlooked, probably better than making a whole thread about it. You've made a great contribution so I'm sure you'd be considered if there's any places left. We've been told that there are no more places left for testers so I really don't want to encourage any more threads on the subject. -

Just play Arma 2. That's basically what the game is with lot's more toys and vehicles. You already have it installed so you might as well give it a go.

Rocket has said that any console port would be managed by a separate team, so it wouldn't impact the SA development at all, in any way. Ever. Locked at request of OP.

I understand the paranoia too. I think if there's one developer we can trust not to sell out though it's BIS and if there's one project lead we can trust not to sell his soul it's Rocket. Both of their track records show we have nothing at all to worry about.

It's painful to watch TBH. Even after reading Rockets posts on the subject, people are still having panic attacks about it being ported to XBOX. It won't affect the PC version in any way whatsoever apart from giving the guys more money to plow back into development to give us a better game. I bet the Arma snobs over at the BIS forum are raging hard about it as we speak.

On some servers bodies will de-spawn quicker than the norm to help reduce lag.
