    There's a lot more than that. Have you read the actual devblog? If you read through it properly then you'll see why some are excited. It's going to be a very different game to the mod, and it's a vast improvement on what many of us were expecting. Of course it's not enough for everyone but it never will be, whatever they release.

    Server hoping?

    Cars and tents save automatically now so there is no need for that option. Also, you can't move them between servers, you can move you character and any carried gear but vehicles and tents are server specific.

    You're the dude that was having issues installing yesterday? Looks like you got it sorted. Nice one. Just a quick bit of advice, you should play through some of the Arma tutorial missions before jumping in. They'll take you through basic movement, driving, flying, shooting, basically everything you need. It means you can get used to the controls before jumping in at the deep end. Once you feel more comfortable you'll enjoy the game a lot more.

    Agreed. I don't really have an issue with disconnects and play mainly on private hives so I can only assume the issue is at your end and not something the devs can fix.

    The mod will never have that. It's important to understand that the mod will always be a mod of Arma 2 and as a result of that will always be plagued by many of the restrictions that involves. The new inventory system in the SA has been written from scratch as with the SA the Devs have access to the engine, in the mod this can never happen, they can only "modify" what they have, which is why the mod will always be buggy and have built in issues.

    I do remember one of the devs talking about this a while back and saying you can't design a game around people having unstable connections. They have to design the game assuming people playing will have a stable internet connection I guess.

    Nothing went wrong, they decided that instead of just releasing a souped up mod they were going to do things properly and start from the ground up to make a standalone game they can be proud of. That's why the whole timescale for the development has changed. Much of the work already completed can't be shown in a short devblog like this as it involves massive changes to the engine and will completely change the way the game plays out.

    That's what I thought. I'd imagine they are. I guess polishing things like that up will happen further down the road when they know exactly how the UI will be laid out.

    Chill out fella. I didn't say it was the end of the world. I was expressing my opinion and that is indeed what a forum is for. If you don't like my opinion then deal with it. I've been here for a long time and this mod always progresses by trying ideas and seeing what effect they have on the game. Sometimes things stay, sometimes they are removed after a trial period. That is the nature of a mod in development and always will be so I'm well aware it's not the end of the world. Many thanks.

    I just peeked out of my window to check and the sky was indeed blue and quite saturated. Yesterday, it was more of a whitey/grey. The weather will change in the game too meaning that so will the sky. Thanks for reading.
  17. Well, for me personally, if I ever want to check out a game on Youtube I want to see gameplay footage, as that is what I will be playing and I want to know what I will be experiencing. I don't want to see a Youtuber on an ego-trip doing a "Speilberg" and desparately trying to get get more views to make money, but that's just me I guess.
  18. Agreed. You should never design a game around something like that. If people like the game, they will post footage of it, simple as that.

    Zombies as "Clients"

    I'm not sure it really matters as it's being completely overhauled for the SA. Zeds will spawn server-side at the start of the mission as will loot. Read the Devblog Tumblre and watch the new devblog vid for more info, they explain it better than I can.

    New Combat Roll Animation

    I haven't actually tried it yet but looking at that vid it shouldn't have been introduced. Firstly, it looks like crap so takes away from immersion, secondly all we're going to see now is players rolling all over Cherno/Electro much like bunny-hopping in other games. I'm not sure if it's limited to how much rolling you can do? If it was maybe limited to once or twice and then a long delay I could live with it a long as they cleaned up the animation. In my eyes the community devs need to be really careful and put a lot of though into it before adding things like this. I love so much of the new patch though, just not this bit.

    They said there are other swamp areas too. That is just an example of one of them. I know what you mean though. I'd like to see a dark foreboding swamp in thick forest with a deserted bunker in the middle, lovely. Don't forget too that all of the footage and pictures so far have been on bright sunny day's. The new weather system will add a lot of atmosphere.

    I never read Youtube comments. Just watch the vid, and get out quickly, it's the only way to deal with Youtube without smashing your face into the keyboard.
  24. You must be new. I look forward to your next vid showing you flipping your ATV on a stone and breaking your legs on a door frame. Just to save you some time and effort, this is a free mod, expect bugs.
