    Standalone and map sizes...

    I'm sure everyone would like as big a map as possible, including the devs. There's a lot to think about though. The vanilla Chernarus map took 2 years to make, and the larger a map gets the more resources it needs to run it. I read that the Arma 3 engine can support maps of up to 500km sq so there's always potential, but these things take long time, if you want to be playing the SA this year, you're gonna have to get used to Chernarus +.

    Stolen CD-Key?

    CD key stealing is possible with any game key for any game key in the world. It isn't stolen while you're playing. With both Arma and DayZ it is simply impossible for someone to steal it while you're playing. The only way it can be stolen is if you download some dodgy software that steals it. This software can look like hacks, performance boosters, patches and so on. The moral of the story is to only download files from trusted sites. In answer to your question, if you continue to fail to follow the basic rules of internet security and/or continue to download files from sources that can't be trusted then in general the security of any files on your computer will always be at risk.

    And it looks sexy. Put it this way, if two of us are in a forest, one of us had the L85 and the other the Mk 48, only one of us is leaving that forest and it's not the guy with the L85.

    lol, the Mk 48 is a bloody death machine. You can treat it like an assault rifle with a bit of practice or go full potato and supress a hole squad with it, it honestly is an awesome weapon. It's pretty good for destroying vehicles too, or if you just stick to burst firing it one belt of ammo will last you forever.

    For me it's the MK48 mod0 every time. I just love the thing, I would choose it over many of the guns in the game but it just suits my style of play.

    DayZ: Most Private Hives Are Not Real DayZ

    This is one of the many reasons I'm looking forward to the release of the SA. For me, many private hives have just gone too far off the radar now for it to even be called DayZ. There are many new players within the last couple of months that will have only played on customised servers with woerd starting load-outs. They're going to be in for a shock when they log into the SA for the fist time and they're standing there in their boxers. I like some of the customisations available but it's got to the point where it's all that is available now.

    DayZ Stand Alone and ArmA 3?

    They're re-writing much of the engine actually so in effect DayZ will have it's own engine. Please read the Devblog for more details as it is misleading to simply say that DayZ is using the TOH engine, it's a lot more complicated than that.

    Rocket has already said that console development would only be considered if DayZ reached over 1million sales and even then it would be developed by a different team. Whatever happens with consoles in the futere it will in no way effect the develpment of the PC version so there's no need for anyone to get thier knickers in a twist. Just for clarification, here's some quotes of his on the subject: "It's just basic maths really. Anyone in the video game industry would say the same thing, once a game reaches a certain point - the likelihood of some kind of console port becomes quite high. Cross-platform releases are about maximizing sales. I care about zero for consoles, personally. I have an Xbox 360 they gave me with my tv, I played for about a few hours and it just wasn't for me. I used to work at Sidhe interactive and that really reinforced for me I don't like console GAMES nor the DEVELOPMENT of them.     Nice post. The way I see it, Rocket and the gang are now able to pluck what they need from all of the resources BIS have available which is pretty amazing really. Good times ahead!
  19. Oooh, I always wondered what came after Zetta. BTW MuhQ, just so you know, the devs have already ruled out people turning into zeds for 2 reasons. The main reason is that we are immune to the "infection" which is why we are the only survivors left alive, and the other is that people would do stupid things as a zed and break the immersion for others.

    Thats a good point. I thought Mac users could play using Bootcamp anyway? If so, no need to wait. You can be trendy and play DayZ, it's a win-win.

    Have you ever had a good play?

    You need to give yourself something to do. One of the biggest flaws with the mod is that there isn't enough content, it was only really designed to be a few hours fun, not hundreds of hours over months. I became a whitelisted medic and then I had some of my best adventures ever. It gave me a purpose and a mission, without those all you're doing is collecting gear, dying and then repeating the process.
