    Regarding the engine all I can say is read the devblogs rather than relying on second hand sources for your information.

  5. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I know from experience that running decent servers can prove to be expensive (AUS servers especially so) but paying money to obtain gear goes against the whole DayZ ethos and I'm sure in the past people may even have made money from doing it which for a free mod just isn't right IMO. There's better ways of going about it.

    Mittunz - You've grown into a beautiful panda (with gunz :/), lovely. It's been discussed to death TBH over the last few months. It seems to annoy people that the DayZ SA engine can't be pigeon holed. They want to give it a number but that's alomst impossible because it's using assets from various engines as well as including new core code developed specifically for DayZ. If I had to give it a number it would be 35436535, but that's just off the top of my head.

    That's the plan for final release (not initial alpha) yes. The devblogs will keep you up to date better than I can. The new player seletons being developed for DayZ SA will be used in future projects by BIS though so probably Arma 4 if that ever gets made.

    It'll also be using new player skeletons (newer than the 10 year old Arma 3 ones) and have many changes unique to DayZ SA that will make it hard to categorise as version 2.5.

    A DayZ mod for Arma 3 will still inherit all of the issues a mod has, that's why the devs moved onto the SA, so that they have access to the engine. I'm sure it'll be great fun but don't be under the illusion that it's going to solve any issues this mod has, in fact, it's a new engine that the modders won't be familiar with so it could have many more issues than we have now with this mod because they won't be able to fall back on a decade of experience in working with the engine. I'll be buying Arma 3 to play Arma and DayZA for my survival fix.

    The best arguments against the new tins I've seen so far are that they're too westernised and too common. As for the names being "silly" that just doesn't stack up for me. Almost every brand name I can think of is silly. Anyone fancy a Pop Tart?

The bandwagon left hours ago complete with the people aboard thinking we (mods) had them added to the game or are Razors friends even though we don;t speak to him unless it's about testing upcoming patches. Now lets stay on topic and not get personal please. I'm off to bed. Have fun.

    Are you trolling me? Please go and read back over the last few posts. I had to correct you as you made a comment that was entrely wrong and it's comments like that which have led to some of the hatred aimed at us even though we had literally nothing to do with the additions to the mod.

    You didn't just use a wrong word dude, go and look at your post, you used a whole wrong sentence. I had to correct it because it's important that people understand we had no hand in putting them in the game. Regarding everything else, you'll have to ask the devs, as I explained, I'm just a forum moderator and my opinion on the game is no more important than yours.

    Err, we didn't :/ News just in, we don't make the game we just moderate the forums and had nothing to do with them being introduced. Thanks for summarizing, when you head back over there can you explain the difference between a forum mod and a game dev? It might help clear up some confusion. Cheers.

    Hang on a sec... So where's all the people that hated it now? Did they run out of steam already? This happens after every patch TBH so I guess it may as well have been about tinned goods, rather that than bloody zombie AI or dogs.

    I don't follow your logic. Many are worried that we initially had a hand in this (which we didn't) but to relieve those fears you want us to use our positions to have them removed? The comments on here and Reddit won't be ignored and the issue will be looked at as with every shitstorm following every update. I've already made it clear on the main thread and on Reddit that I don;t care if they're removed or not, it's not for me to decide. It's between the community and the devs, we just moderate the forums.
