You can avoid PVP and the hope is with all of the new content, mechanics ect there'll be more reason to avoid pvp all together. It's always going to be an important part of the game but many peopl just PVP at the moment because they've exhausted everything else the mod has to offer. -

Essentially, it will have it's own engine using the TOH engine as a starting point but making core changes unique to DayZ and using assets from Arma 3 too. Locked.

I would say the difference is that a) you know exactly where it is and b ) you can get all of your gear back. With other peoples bodies it's luck of the drawer. Anyway, hopefully the new disease mechanic will go someway to solving this issue because looting any corpse will carry a risk of disease and unless your geared up to deal with that it's a quick route to another painful death. -

I think the whole narrative of the game will be that we are immune to the virus, that's why we're survivors. Also Rocket has stated in the past that he doesn't want players running around as zeds because it'll break the immersion for others. Players + infection = epic trolling opportunities. Plus those infected players could still theoretically help their team members, I don't like the idea of that at all. -

Unfortunately their are no "original" bandits left in my experience and the term "bandit" has become synonymous with KOS. I don't think the gameplay mechanics as they are ATM allow for proper bandit play, hopefully that'll get sorted in the SA though. I've played with people that call themselves proper bandits. All I saw them doing was either killing on sight or occasionally talking to people before killing them. Either that or they ignored a potential target thus making them think they weren't KOS players. -

To the the guy claiming "censorship", well that's bollocks. Did you miss the uber thread and the hundreds of others discussing the whole hacking thing you keep wanting to drag up? The point is this isn't the thread to discuss that on. It's way off topic and is annoying as hell for the people that are sick of hearing about it and/or want to discuss the content of the actual interview. Sadly it only takes one or two people to derail a thread that hundreds of others may want to read or participate in, that's why very early on in this thread I warned against it. If you haven't hacked the most likely cause is malware. Of course you won't have installed it intentionally but it's still your responsibility to keep your computer secure.

Read the changelog every time there's a patch, it'll fill you in what's different so you don't get caught out.

Yup, it's discussed in the other devblogs and this one where they say they now spawn all at once when the server starts. @ Nicefish, there are other testers believe it or not - good testers provide good bug reports, not bags full of ego. Youtubers are great at making vids, testers are good at testing. They're very different things. I do agree they were rubbish in that vid though :) . -
