Nope, you have your info mixed up. It's Mars Bars that'll cost that much. (I bet this get's misquoted somewhere, hopefully on IGN) -

I think the plan is to have it indicated somehow in-game but how they're going to do that is still either being worked on or super secret. All I would say though is that it won't involve health bars as far as I know. -

I think they still have a lot of work to do with it, that was just an early demo of what they're up to. -

Cool, your gonna be riddled with every disease out there.. Plus shooting people will potentially be damaging the loot you're after using the new system, that's what I'm looking forward to, proper consequences for different styles of play, lovely. -
I wonder what evidence of hacking the Admin has? Would be good to see, it could be a case of not reading the logs properly. I've seen a lot of hacking claims on here and many of them are a result of the admin mis-interpreting their logs.

I don't think there's anything quite like it which is why it's become so popular. I was about to suggest Project Zomboid but it looks like you've already given that a go.

Is an average life long enough? Well, in the mod, possibly not although there are many people that survive for weeks by staying out of trouble but due to the lack of content in the mod that can be pretty boring. My hope (and I think the aim for the devs) is that in the SA there'll be so much more to do that if you are just a player that wants to avoid others and/or conflict there will be a lot more depth and things to keep it interesting for you. In the mod, once you get the hang of the basics there really isn't much left for you to do apart from engaging other players, in the SA this will be a very different story (I hope). -

Are your BE filters up to date? -
There isn't many melee weapons (or moves) in the mod mainly because it's a mod of a game that doesn't have a melee system so it takes a great amount of work just to implement a simple melee weapon. Luckily this is being addressed in the SA, because that won't be a mod they'll be able to implement their own melee system, which is what they're going to do.

Agreed. I think it's all about balance. For me the more depth the better. It's worth remembering what made DayZ so popular to start with, and that's the fact it offered something different from any other game out there. To me it looks like they're sticking to their guns which can only be a good thing. DayZ was never meant to be a game of quick thrills, it's always been about rewarding tactful and patient players IMO. -
It depends on the context but using Balota Buddies as an example it means that you can't access the servers until you're added to the Whitelist. We do that by adding your GUID to a database which then means you can log in whenever you want. The process only takes about 5 mins or less but it works really well and seems to put hackers off even trying. The downside of it is that it takes a lot longer to build up a good playerbase which is why many admins still don't use it, they want instant full servers. In my opinion it's still one of the best way's of ensuring that the servers stay hack free. The BB servers are all well established and all have a good amount of regular players with more coming all the time so you won't find yourself running around on empty servers. I think there's well over 2000 registered players now. Of course there's many other good servers around too, it's a case of finding one that's good for you. It can take a bit of time but it's well worth it if you just want to enjoy the game without worrying about hackers.

So nobody wants to talk about how your character may suffer from long term effects such as bad diet ect.? For me this is a pretty massive step forward and I'm surprised no one's really brought it up yet. -
That's just freaky. Edit - HOLY SHIT! I just realised that's my face!!!!!!!!! Looks like I had a stroke but lovin your work.

People should be able to choose those roles if they want (my group already do) but not by having some in game mechanics tailoring the gameplay. If someone's a good sniper then they can fulfill that roll. The game already caters to that without any gimmicks. -
If I was you (as others have said) I would leave this thread up as a warning to others and find a server where the admins know how to do their jobs properly. Before long these guy's will have an empty server and it will be just them vs hackers, justice will be served.

You'll need to find a map in-game, then "M" will bring it up for you. The best place to look is in Supermarkets, but when you're looting supermarkets keep your ears peeled for others, try and stay away from the windows and get in and out quickly.

Yeh, I really enjoyed it. I think some of the good things about that game are already being looked at (crafting, weapon customisation ect). In fact I loved that game and thought it was underrated but it was very different from what the devs are going for with DayZ. The zeds in that game were scary as hell (to me anyway). If I could pick one thing the devs looked to that game for inspiration for it would probably be the zed sounds. When you heard one scream from a distance you knew it was about to kick off. -

I wouldn't worry to much about any of the anims considering they're all being re-done. (as I understand it anyway.) -
Cool. Next time just PM one of us if you want. We don't bite.

Connecting to all servers problem
Fraggle (DayZ) replied to AK-Hellcat's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Oh dear, you have been banned by Battleye. That means you won't be able to play on any server. Read the stickies on this forum for more information or contact Battleye if you want to dispute it. It has nothing to do with us here. Merci. Locked. -
If you're from Europe your better off trying UK46 although you'll get good ping on the US one too.
-
^^This - You did everything correctly but for some reason there was an "S" in there that shouldn't have been. I removed it for you and Bob's yer Uncle, you have an embedded vid.

The guide to getting Whitelisted (including a step by step vid) is on the website. The servers and free Teamspeak are also listed there. The servers are based in America, Australia and Europe/UK so pretty much everywhere's covered.

There is no debate about removing pvp from the game and that's not what's going to happen. Am I missing something here? -
Finding a server with active admins is the key. Have a look through the server area or of course you could just use the link Colekern posted :)
